00440 Hangyul’s rescue. however… . ————————————————– ———————-=
Nam Da-eun and I quickly turned our heads.
As we stood guard in the right direction, soon a group of guys with cracked skin all over their bodies and dark red eyes came out of nowhere.
“also?”
Nam Da-eun, who was still next to me, muttered quietly. I narrowed my eyes and quickly looked at the guys coming in from the left and right.
‘A total of 12.’
It was divided exactly in half, with 6 animals appearing on the left and 6 on the right.
Then I suddenly noticed something strange. That is, the number of dead people coming from various directions is strictly limited to six. The battle wasn’t just about rushing in like a wild boar, but there was some sort of reaction. It felt like seeing a soldier who had gone through formal training.
Of course, I wasn’t unaware of their reaction. However, while I didn’t think much of it in the first session, this fact felt somewhat unfamiliar in the second session.
Nam Da-eun spun Seol-ah around and got ready to run away.
“Clan Lord. “I left the front to Junyoung and Sorim, so I think it’s our turn now.”
“All right. User Nam Da-eun, please take the left direction. “I will take the right direction.”
The two of us made eye contact once and ran in our designated directions. Soon, they must have noticed me coming in alone, and the dead people also raised their spears, axes, etc. to welcome me.
‘I’ll have to check it out.’
Finally, just before I collided with the leader, I deliberately adjusted the distance to a close distance and lowered my sword wide.
As expected, the dead man showed his defense by raising his shield above his head, and the sword he struck down struck down the shield as if grazing it. And when the sword went all the way down, I pushed it in a little more and then raised it and struck hard.
Wow! Pugeogeouk!
It feels like cutting down a rotten log. When I looked closely, I could see pieces of faded metal sparsely inside the skin. It wasn’t just the flesh that was torn apart, it seemed like the armor he had worn during his life had stretched and stuck to his skin.
A moment later, the deceased was split into two pieces from the core to the tip of the head, just as he was holding the ax raised. However, I quickly turned around without even having time to retract my sword. A colorful window was violently smashed in through the crack.
Whoosh!
In the meantime, I felt the tip of the spear grazing my earlobe, probably aiming for my head. Avoidance was possible just by turning my head, but I deliberately turned my body sharply. After moving the sun and moon sword to his left hand, he slightly lowered his waist and stabbed the sword in the direction the spear came from.
Phew!
I felt like the sword was stuck deep somewhere. Anywhere is good. Then, without hesitation, he used a magical explosion, and with a tearing explosion, dark red liquid flew in all directions.
Although some of it splashed at me, I paid it no mind and pulled the sword at an angle. Then the dead man, whose neck had been torn apart horribly, slowly collapsed. Suddenly, the liquid on my cheek felt cold.
With this, two people were killed in an instant. There are now four dead people left. But immediately, four more weapons came flying at me, and I calmly watched the dead people struggling as they retreated.
It was definitely strange. Aren’t dead people originally beings who move without consciousness and based on obsession? However, considering that I used high-level magic earlier, I still felt that the connection was not that bad.
After dodging a few more steps and clawing attacks, I dug into the ground of the road and into them. And just as I was about to rotate my sword to cut them all at once, I suddenly felt a strong collision back and forth. It was only for a moment, but it turned black before my eyes, and I felt a subtle pressure being applied to the sword.
‘Look at these guys?’
There was strength in my eyes. Something cold flowed down the back of her neck. When I glanced up, I could see that two guys were attacking me with physical attacks in front and behind, and the other guy was holding onto my sword with his whole body. And the last remaining dead man was preparing to chop me into pieces with his ax raised high.
“brother!”
Noisy. After internally answering someone’s shout, I raised my magic power as much as possible. The first priority was to find freedom for the sword. So, with another magical explosion, he quickly moved his feet and tripped the leg of the dead man holding the axe.
Wow?!
The deceased stumbled for a moment, but immediately raised his head as if trying to regain his bearings. However, the guy blocking his sword had already exploded all over his body. So, before the guy holding the ax could fully stand up, I picked up the free Sun and Moon God Sword and quickly struck the dead man’s head.
Suddenly!
Oh my!
Wow!
The deceased’s head fell off with a deathly scream. And I tilted my head. It was clear that only one person had been dealt with, but there were screams from two of them.
Now that I think about it, I felt that the pressure from the dead people who had been pushing me back and forth just a little while ago had eased. Moreover, the guy in front hesitates and even bites his body. Not only that, but black smoke was rising from nearby. It was smoke coming from the body of the deceased.
The moment I looked down to see something, I saw a soft light flowing through my body and sparkling powder melting in between. This light was the priest’s ability, and the powder was Hanbyeol’s amplification magic seen earlier. then… .
Whoa!
Eventually, when the powder completely melted, the soft light burst out brilliantly and spread out in all directions.
The light completely engulfed the dead people standing around, and then they could be seen with their whole bodies melting and flowing. It seems that a priest and Hanbyeol worked together to support me.
However, the deceased who was behind me still had his arms around my neck. He immediately stabbed the sword in the back, but felt that it only cut through thin air.
When I glanced down, I saw the deceased’s lower body cut off in the middle. The hot liquid dripping down my neck means it must have been hit by the light while it was wrapped around my neck. Immediately after shaking his body once, the deceased fell down helplessly.
With this, all dead people coming from the right direction were dealt with. However, the battle was still in full swing ahead and to the left.
I wiped the liquid running down my neck and ran forward without delay.

The battle is over. Is it because the first battle was completed safely and victory was achieved? The clan members who had entered reorganization were all showing bright faces.
Of course, it was not a victory without scars. A total of 2 people were injured in this battle. Cha So-rim, who fought at the forefront, and Nam Da-eun, who fought on the left.
Fortunately, both of their injuries were not that serious. Cha So-rim suffered a shock to her wrist from a shield strike from Donggwijin, and Nam Da-eun received a long but shallow cut on her left arm. He said that it was a mistake for him, but it was a possible injury to Nam Da-eun, who had a low durability ability.
Woo Jeong-min, Seon Yu-un, and Heo Jun-young looked at the dead people and cautiously approached me. Then Heo Jun-young spoke carefully in my ear.
“If you calculate the strength level of the dead people that appear, it seems to be roughly over 80. “It’s not an easy number.”
“Did Nam Da-eun tell you?”
“no. The exact numbers were not given. “I gave you a rough idea.”
“… is it.”
I laughed lightly at Heo Jun-young’s additional explanation. Although user information was highly confidential, this level of exchange occurred occasionally within the same clan. This is because if you know the enemy accurately, you can have a more solid defense next time. Well, it didn’t mean much to me.
I opened my mouth quietly.
“okay. “What do your opponents think?”
“It wasn’t that difficult. “I had high expectations because it was so notorious, but it was an easier battle than I expected.”
Heo Jun-young answered immediately. However, Woo Jung-min and Seon Yu-un did not seem to think so, tilting their heads and shaking their heads.
“It was definitely an easier battle than I thought. However, in the vacant lot, they found ten corpses that had been affected by Ansol’s abilities, and among them was a dead man who appeared to be a wizard. “If it weren’t for Ansol’s ability and if the four of you hadn’t held up so well in front of you, it would have been a pretty tough battle.”
“The following are alumni.”
Seon Yu-un nodded his head heavily at Woo Jeong-min’s lengthy explanation.
“okay… .”
I spoke slowly. And then I fell into deep thought.
Certainly, the dead had a level of strength that was different from that of other monsters. Although each individual’s strength was at a decent level, their strength came from the systematic way they fought in conjunction with each other.
However, if I were to honestly evaluate this first battle, I would say the same thing as Woo Jung-min. It was easier than I thought.
I slowly looked around at the Mercenary Clan members. The dead were still strong, but we are stronger. Except for a few people, the clan members present here were almost elite level users. Also, Ansol’s quick response and the excellent collaboration between Heo Jun-young and Cha So-rim left an impression.
‘and… . ‘Because I’ve become a lot stronger too.’
Since I only remember going through a lot of hardship during the first time exploring, I was unknowingly being more cautious than necessary before entering the mountain range. However, my thoughts had been completely changed by the battle just now.
I am now sure. The level of the Mercenary Clan members currently standing here, including me, is said to exceed the level of Istantel Row at the time. If so, I thought maybe I could completely conquer the mountain range where the dragon sleeps this time.
After calmly waking up from my thoughts, I spoke to the three men who were still looking at me.
“If a melee breaks out in the next battle, the melee classes will apply the priest’s blessing to their respective weapons… .”
But halfway through, I suddenly stopped talking. This is because I felt eyes staring at me from one side. When I calmly turned my head, I could see Yujeong crouching down with her face supported by both hands. Yujeong made eye contact with me, then opened his eyes and nodded his head. It was as if he was telling me to keep talking.
I tilted my head.
“why?”
“no. “I just like looking at it.”
“It looks good?”
“Handsome men are gathered in one place and talking about random things. Please continue. You look great.”
Yoo-jeong smiled prettily, wondering where the woman who had earlier shouted that she was curious about the deceased’s blood had gone. Heo Jun-young closed her eyes and did not react, Woo Jung-min chuckled, and Seon Yu-un smiled shyly.
Anyway, just as I was about to continue talking, this time someone rushed over and grabbed my arm. When I said something again and narrowed my eyes, I saw Hanbyul with a very impatient look on his face.
“Oh, brother. “I’m in big trouble.”
“Big deal?”
“Ha, I haven’t seen Hangyeol since a while ago.”
“uh? Oh right! Baek Han-gyeol!”
Yujeong jumped up and shouted. Everyone must have heard that sound, and for a moment there was silence. Seeing everyone’s eyes widen, it seems they were so caught up in the battle that they didn’t think about Hangyeol, who had disappeared.
“… “I forgot.”
“Well, shouldn’t we go find it quickly now? He disappeared into the vacant lot earlier… .”
“How. “It’s a mountain beyond a mountain.”
“Oh, what should I do! oh my god! Our Hangyeol!”
I signaled to Yoo-jeong, who was making a fuss, to be quiet. Then he quietly raised his finger and pointed in one direction. All clan members turned their heads to where my finger was pointing. That direction was the path we had taken so far.
After waiting for about 10 seconds, someone suddenly appeared through the fog. Soon, the identity of Inyoung, who was trudging along with blank stares, was none other than Hangyeol. The clan members let out a sigh of relief at the same time.
“… What happened? “It must have disappeared deep inside.”
“yes. I definitely checked it too. But why… .”
Heo Jun-young frowned slightly, and Seon Yu-un quickly accepted and confirmed what he said. Meanwhile, Hangyeol was passing between us with glazed eyes.
“It would be better to follow along for now. Maintenance will end here. Everyone, get ready to leave.”
After saying that, I walked to the center and stood next to Hangyeol, who was just passing by. The clan members quickly got up and walked in their original formation. Eventually, after confirming that everyone had taken their seats, I quietly announced our departure.
As soon as I started following Hangyeol again, Vivien quietly approached me and spoke to me.
“Kim Soohyun. It’s just my opinion, but I think it may have entered the barrier. “Maybe we’re wandering around the same part of the mountain range without even realizing it.”
“Hmm. It’s a barrier… .”
It made sense, but I shrugged my shoulders.
Then he looked ahead with his third eye and spoke calmly.
“well. “Anyway, you’ll find out if you follow along.”
*
When Hangyeol felt that he had opened his eyes, the world was a very faint gray light. Not a complete night, but the gray light just before sunrise.
Where on earth is this?
Hangyeol blinked once or twice and then slightly raised his head. No, she wasn’t going to listen, she was.
However, a look of embarrassment suddenly flashed through Hangyeol’s eyes. The head doesn’t move. It wasn’t just the head. My entire body does not move as it is in the same position with my eyes open. Only the eyelids moved. I tried somehow to turn my head to the side, but no matter how hard I tried, it wouldn’t move at all.
Hangyeol swallowed his saliva. Then, he rolled his only moving eyes and looked around as best as he could. But it didn’t help anything. I didn’t see any information. All I could see around me was a gray world, as if everything had stopped, and the fact that I was leaning somewhere.
It was then.
Saaaaaa… .
It felt like it had stopped, but for a moment, a chilling wind passed by Hangyeol’s ears. At the same time, you start to hear something muttering. Hangyeol tried his best to listen, but he couldn’t understand. Not only did he speak too fast, but it was also something he didn’t know to begin with.
Swoosh, swoosh.
That wasn’t the end. This time, a faint sound of scratching on the ground began to be heard. And Hangyeol felt fear rising inside him for no reason. He probably couldn’t move, but the sound he heard behind him was clearly getting closer to him.
Hangyeol sat leaning somewhere and struggled with everything he could. I tried to generate magic power, activate abilities, and at least bring up a user information window. But nothing worked. Nothing has changed. Just like the first time… .
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!
no. There was one. That was a sound coming from right behind me. The sound that had been faint until a moment ago was now getting closer enough to be clearly audible.
I want to tremble, but I don’t. I want to scream, but I can’t open my mouth. The only thing Hangyeol could do at the moment was to just wait in this state.
Hangyeol prayed inwardly. I hope this is all just a dream. And when I open my eyes, I hope everything is gone.
however.
While I was praying so earnestly, a cold feeling suddenly came from below and began to tickle my legs.
Hangyeol reflexively opened his eyes. In my mind, I thought I shouldn’t look, but my eyes were already following the feeling.
Finally, it was a moment when Hangyeol’s gaze slowly lowered.
Sigh!
Suddenly, something white struck quickly and struck Hangyeol’s side. It was a hand. It was not a normal human hand, but a long, flaccid pale hand like a tentacle.
The fingernails that touched the floor then began to frantically scrape the ground. Hangyeol’s eyes got so big that they felt like they were tearing apart. I probably would have screamed as loud as I could if I could.
How much time has passed?
Around the time I felt like I was suffocating. The hand that had been scratching the floor for a while slowly, very slowly began to move upward. Yet, the way he was gesturing softly to Hangyeol was filled with a feeling of regret.
And contrary to the hand going up, this time a long black object began to come down little by little.
It was then.
Hangyeol suddenly felt strange. I definitely felt like it was coming from behind, but suddenly it went up?
Hangyeol slowly raised his eyes. His head didn’t move, but he still tried to look up as much as possible.
The first thing I saw was messy hair shaking back and forth. And then… .
Knock.
A drop of blood flowed into Hangyeol’s eye.
Hangyeol instinctively stopped raising his gaze. I thought I could see it if I went up a little further from here, but for some reason I felt that I shouldn’t look, that if I did, everything would be over.
So, I was about to lower my gaze again.
Sigh!
A white hand came down in an instant and grabbed Hangyeol’s neck. Then she lifted his chin and forced him to look up.
Eventually, Hangyeol looked at ‘it’ without even realizing it, and immediately lost control.
—————————= Review of the work ——————– ——-=
Sorry for not being able to post yesterday.
After deleting everything I wrote down and thinking about it carefully, I was able to find the cause. After comparing the settings I wrote about the mountain range where the dragon sleeps and the settings for the user character, I came up with the answer.
This time, since the Dragon Sleeping Mountains have a reputation for being difficult, I wanted to give them just as much hardship. Of course, we prepared a huge reward. (It was in this context that we said we would update user Kim Soo-hyun’s information after targeting it.)
However, there was a huge difference in level with Kim Soo-hyun alone, but with the addition of incredible colleagues, there was no answer. Although it worked out well in the end, he wanted to cause great hardship in his own way, which was a mistake in the first place. Since he was trying to write something that didn’t make sense, he had no choice but to get stuck in the content of the battle.
So I completely changed my plan. For now, we will proceed as is until Hangyeol’s rescue, and after that, we plan to move on to the attack a little faster and more quickly. The content about the hardships that had been planned was deleted or changed to other content, and the overall part was shortened to the conclusion. (For example, this part, which was scheduled to be 4 episodes, was also reduced to 2 episodes. )
I will try to keep my wits about me and write more in the future. thank you _(__)_
ah. Ansol’s character illustration has been updated. 🙂
This is an illustration drawn by illustrator SILVESTER. Thank you for taking charge of Ansol following Seraph and Go Yeon-ju last time.
P.S. I posted it in Announcements, Garden, and Work Settings. If you look at the work settings, you can see it as a large original!
