#71
Helmut
Episode 71
Helmut left and took Sian and Area to visit the mercenary guild late at night. Most mercenary guilds operate until dawn. This is because urgent requests sometimes come in.
This type of request requires a report to be written. Helmut was unfamiliar with writing, let alone writing documents. Alea kept giving advice next to me. It sounds like fun.
“Let’s write down the investigation process concisely and don’t talk about myself. I just assumed that it was a spirit that was haunting Greta Academy, and I found its hiding place. The request was concluded by having the spirit wizard within the academy secure the spirit. No more strange phenomena will occur at the Academy. Who are the witnesses? “You can write it like this.”
“I guess you’ve written a mercenary report?”
When Xian asked with interest, Area snorted.
“The report format is obvious.”
When I submitted the report, the mercenary guild clerk accepted it with a yawn and then rubbed his eyes as if he had woken up.
“Wow, you solved this request. It was interesting, but I was wondering who would solve it since no one wanted to take it on. Oh my god, a spirit? “It was a very unusual request.”
As if to confirm, Xian showed him the dark spirit. The employee looked slightly frightened at the similarity to the witnesses’ testimony, but nodded.
“Has it been confirmed?”
Helmut’s hand went up to the reception desk. It was a sign asking for the request fee. But the academy staff shook their heads.
“It has been confirmed. However, in the case of a request like this, it takes some time to become certain as it can only be established if there are no more monsters appearing. That’s why we don’t pay the request fee right away. “Please come back in three days.”
Getting the money was tricky. Helmut furrowed his brows and turned around. As he came out of the mercenary guild, Sian spoke to Helmut.
“So now, we’re friends, right? “I helped you.”
Helmut corrected.
“We helped each other.”
I’m not sure what a spirit is to a spirit wizard, but since he has secured a rare spirit, it will definitely be beneficial to him.
“Then it’s better, right? Being helpful to each other. Ideal as a friend! “We had fun starting from our first meeting, so it will be exciting going forward.”
I think arbitrarily. But Sian is a friendly guy. He was just as cold as Arena or Helmut, but the impression of Xian, who stuck to them well, was not bad. As he said, Xian was helpful to Helmut.
“Area, you too?”
Area waved her hand with a tired expression. Her involvement with Helmut was unexpected enough for him.
“Not with me. “Friends or whatever, just the two of you, do it yourself.”
“A friend’s friend is a friend.”
Xian responded casually and held out his hand towards Helmut. Helmut, who was conflicted for a moment, held his hand. Finn, who was extremely weak and timid, also claimed to be friends with Helmut, so I wondered what could be wrong about this guy.
“Wow, your grip is strong? Of course, it’s the swordsmanship department.”
Sian took his hand and shook it up and down, then let go.
“Let’s get along. Life as a swordsman school must be hard, but if you want to cry, come to me anytime.”
“That won’t happen.”
Helmut cut it off with a single sword.
“You know that you will be assigned a dorm room soon, right? The first-year dormitory building becomes the second-year dormitory the following year, and so on, so the building will remain the same, but the roommates and room locations will change. Since the men are mixed together rather than divided into departments, they could end up in the same room. Well, we can change rooms.”
Do you share a room with multiple people? Helmut immediately looked back at Area. He didn’t seem to be sharing a room with anyone.
“Area uses solitary confinement. I boldly asked the dean for a private room as a privilege for getting a perfect score on the entrance exam. “Do the benefits continue?”
“As long as I remain the head of the academy.”
Area looked at Man-nyeon Cha-seok with an arrogant look, thinking that would happen. However, Sian smiled without even raising an eyebrow, with an expression that did not seem to bother him.
“If that’s the case, you’ll still be in solitary confinement.”
It seems like I’ve already lost. He was a man without will, Helmut thought.
“Anyway, it’s late. Everyone, go in.”
Xian waved his hand. Area also nodded and turned his back.
“hi.”
A short greeting followed. Helmut broke away from them and returned straight to Kudrow Mansion. It was an eventful day.
‘Shall I take on another request?’
A few days later, after receiving the promised 3,000 marks from the mercenary guild, Helmut thought. If things continue like this, he could become rich quickly. Helmut planned to slowly look for his parents while attending his academy.
‘I heard that they like it when their children make a lot of money.’
I don’t know if Helmut’s parents, who know that he has a seed of darkness, will accept him obediently, but wouldn’t it be better to go with a good fortune than to go empty-handed?
‘But if you’re a noble, you might be as rich as Zeringen in Xenia.’
That would not be enough to keep up with Helmut’s mercenary work from time to time. My will was broken. Ethan did not want Helmut to take on his commission before the semester was over. He was happy that he made friends like Xian and Alea, but he didn’t like them filling up his day with requests and training. It was the exact opposite of what normal guardians or parents would do to encourage them to live hard.
Helmut lived his life very hard. Just like he shouldn’t waste a single day. In the forest of Pahe, he had to get stronger quickly to escape the forest. A life that has become ingrained over four years is not easily shaken off.
‘You should get some rest. It’ll get busier once the semester starts, so it’s not a bad idea to take it easy for now.’
Being busy during the semester means being busy, and there won’t be enough days. Helmut actually didn’t understand the need for rest at certain times. Resting during work is enough, you are still at an age where you are still alive. Life at the academy didn’t seem to be that difficult. So he secretly asked the staff at the reception desk to see if there were any good requests, but there didn’t seem to be anything suitable.
“What should I do… … .”
While thinking about it, Helmut headed to Kudrow Mansion. As soon as he returned, the manor’s butler presented a letter addressed to him.
“It’s from the Academy.”
The letter said, ‘Information on dormitory assignment.’ Kudrow Mansion was close to Greta Academy, so Helmut, who could commute to school, did not have to live in the dormitory. But regardless of necessity, it was a duty. At Greta Academy, we have made it a rule that all students live in dormitories. Greta believes that becoming a suitable talent for Academy begins with living a life belonging to the Academy.
There were some people who had separate accommodation outside the dormitory, but this was due to reasons such as physical discomfort or the need to support their families. In principle, this should not be done. Helmut did not find it difficult to accept having to live in a dormitory. He was good at ignoring anyone he lived with. No matter what loud noises you hear or what the other person does.
“Who will I be sharing a room with?”
Helmut opened the letter with interest. The dormitory room number was written all over it.
“Room 301 on the 3rd floor. You want me to move my luggage before the semester starts? “Do the cleaning yourself or use someone.”
There is no need to move already. Because I can start living after the semester starts. However, Helmut decided to move his residence.
‘I guess I should go and check the room today.’
It would be a good idea to look around the room first to find out what you need. Helmut made up his mind and headed straight to the dormitory. As he reached the entrance of the dormitory, a familiar voice called out to him.
“Hey, Helmut. “Where is your room?”
It was Sian. He appeared as if he knew Helmut was there. He was carrying a heavily loaded box in his hands. Helmut silently held out the letter and showed it to her.
“Room 301 on the 3rd floor? If it’s on the 3rd floor, that’s fine. There are nice rooms in the dormitory too. The rooms on the left side of the 3rd floor generally have good reviews. Baden has a fairly constant temperature, but it is cool in the summer and warm in the winter.”
And I added it without even asking.
“I’m in room 307 on the 3rd floor! If you are not confident in cleaning, it would be a good idea to talk to your roommate and get someone to do it right after you move your belongings. If you want, I’ll find out. “It costs about 200 marks.”
Helmut nodded and headed to the dormitory reception desk. Many students were standing in line. There were many glances at Helmut, but no one actually spoke to him. It’s not a good look for him to talk to. Rather, he was the type of person who would flinch and keep his mouth shut even if he tried to ask for directions.
From the outside, it was clearly a rare beauty, but it had a calm atmosphere so it didn’t stand out. The excessively black eyes and hair, as well as the sharp aura that permeated his body, made it difficult to approach him. It was rare for a stranger to talk to Helmut, except for someone with a dull or bold personality, or a fanatical follower of Area.
After waiting, his turn came. Helmut held out the letter he had received.
“Room 301 on the 3rd floor? There… … .”
The clerk looked surprised for some reason.
“What’s the problem?”
“No, it’s not like that. what… … good luck.”
With an unexpected sound, he handed me the keys. Helmut took it and went up to the third floor. Now that the semester was approaching, most of the academy students had already arrived in Baden. The guys who were already staying in the dormitory were busy transporting their belongings to change rooms.
“Move!”
“be careful! “Going down!”
After passing several people carrying large burdens precariously, Helmut reached his destination.
“Room 301 on the 3rd floor. “Is this place?”
There was silence everywhere. There were several rooms in the hallway with open doors, but the door to room 301 was locked, probably because my roommate came first. Since he doesn’t know anyone anyway, it’s probably a face Helmut doesn’t recognize. Usually, students are assigned to share a room with the same faculty. Helmut just hoped that his opponent wasn’t just a guy from the swordsmanship department. Helmut also studied swordsmanship, but he didn’t want to go to the swordsmanship department because whenever they passed by, he could smell the sweat from training. Elagan Darien, with whom she lived, did not have a strong body odor, so the smell of her men’s sweat was unpleasant to Helmut. So much so that I felt like my sense of smell was being attacked.
‘I might murder my roommate because of the smell.’
It’s not a joke. smart. Helmut knocked on the door. Soon a rustling sound was heard from inside, and the door opened. The ends of the long silver hair were in sight.
“Who is it?”
Alea, who had just woken up from sleep and opened the door in annoyance, widened her eyes.
“Why are you here?”
Helmut was also shaken. But he spoke calmly.
“Because of room assignment.”
“what? But why here?”
“Room 301 on the 3rd floor.”
Helmut handed over the letter. Area’s expression instantly distorted as she read it as if she had snatched it.
“You were assigned to this room?”
“Aren’t you like that too?”
“I originally used this room! And this room is a solitary room.”
“I guess it starts from today.”
Area has a particularly neat personality. He didn’t see a speck of dust on the hem of his clothes. He must have been lighting a scented candle, and a nice smell came out through the cracks in the door, irritating the tip of his nose. On the outside, she was the best roommate. Helmut was satisfied with the results of her room assignment, but she never seemed to be with Area.
“Nonsense!”
He slammed the door shut. A violent rustling sound was heard from inside, and the door opened again. Area appeared wearing her coat and glared at Helmut.
“Don’t even think about going into my room! “I have to come see the dean for a moment!”
After locking the door in front of her, Area disappeared at a brisk pace, almost running down the hallway. Helmut, who was left alone, looked at the key in his hand.
‘Don’t even think about going in?’
