#496
Helmut
Episode 496
Asuka, feeling a sense of crisis, raised her voice.
“Baharek, where are you! “How long are you going to hide, you coward?”
While shouting, his magic sword struck the monster’s neck with a freezing cold sensation.
“And you’re still the ruler of the western region! On the topic of scaredy cats!”
Asuka’s eloquence was recognized even during her academy days. Sarcasm and insults were her specialty, and Asuka displayed them without hesitation.
“Usually the weaker one has the numerical advantage! “Aren’t you just hiding and peeing?”
The tank that Helmut and his party were riding advanced with the momentum of launching two armies of monsters. At the wall, artillery fire from above was beginning.
However, since most of the forces were still intact, it was expected that they would be able to endure for a long time.
Even as everyone was swinging their swords in silence, Asuka continued to shout.
“Come out, you sneaky, cunning cat! “Let’s stick together somewhere!”
‘I’m really a human who can’t even walk a single bite away.’
Of course, Baharek was watching them, so he heard everything they said. Before he knew it, his eyes were bloodshot.
If Helmut had said things like that, I might have snorted and gotten away with it. Because Helmut was strong enough for him to admit.
However, seeing the weak one among the dogs talk like he was proud made my head heat up and I gained strength.
The weak obey the strong. In the forest of Pahe, this was an unacceptable downfall and challenge.
But Baharek persevered. He had a plan, and it wasn’t time for him to step out yet. His experience with Helmut and his group taught him what patience means.
“You cowardly piss-cat! He can’t do anything unless he hides behind his subordinates’ backs! “That’s your master!”
The monsters hesitated, perhaps because Asuka’s cries were persuasive. In fact, the momentum of Helmut and his party was so strong that they were overwhelmed.
Demonic nature has an instinct of madness that does not know how to waste one’s life. But that doesn’t mean they are completely unaware of fear.
In a short period of time, countless monsters died. Facing the overwhelming strength of the enemy he thought was his prey, Baharek’s dominance was slowly slipping away.
However, Baharek was not unaware of this. He finally made his move before his men left.
It felt like lightning struck at once. A huge figure flew in as if piercingly, hitting the front of the tank and retreating.
Quagwagwang! The blow shattered Area’s barrier and tore off the tank’s head.
A tingling magic energy that seemed to fill the air. After a month, the figure retreated and settled down among the monsters.
Asuka shouted loudly.
“Baharek!”
Crumbling. A horrifying, guttural cry pierced the air. Baharek asked with a mysterious look in his eyes.
[Has everyone talked about it?]
“Haha, it looks like you’re on the mend.”
Asuka smiled even though she felt a chill in her stomach.
[The weakest one only lives with his mouth. How dare you, this Baharek!]
“Do you have time to chat?”
Helmut’s sword was lowered vertically. Blade-like blue-white vis stretched out, cutting straight through the air.
Shhh! That blow split all the monsters between Baharek and Helmut in two.
Even though he was emitting a lot of vis as if in protest, there was no sign of hardship on Helmut’s face.
[Yes, Helmut. The strongest among humans.]
As he raised his demonic energy to offset Helmut’s attack, a look of caution appeared on Baharek. The one he is most wary of.
“this.”
Area clicked her tongue. Although the core is not damaged, it takes time to restore the tank using only its own healing ability. The monsters that seemed to be slightly hesitant were flocking back, perhaps as Baharek’s control had strengthened.
It’s the stomach. A fight that cannot be backed down. Helmut said to her as if to reassure her.
“No problem.”
As long as we eliminate Baharek, sending these guys after them is no problem. In that case, it would be better to focus on combat.
After making her decision, Area took her hand off the chariot.
“The main character has appeared, so it will end soon.”
However, even though Baharek appeared in an angry mood, he did not move from his spot as if he was watching. He asked leisurely as he led his men forward.
[Aren’t you worried? That’s the place you left.]
“You’ll figure it out! “We are positive.”
Luke Yeager responded harshly.
[It would be better to be more negative. When the wall is torn down, I will send the monsters there.]
Everyone couldn’t help but flinch at Baharek’s words.
[The guys trapped in the collapsed stone wall will make a good meal.]
And beyond that lies an endless treasure trove of food.
Weak humans who can’t even maintain body temperature without a piece of cloth! There will be no obstacles to getting there. If you can overcome that barrier, it will be an instant.
Baharek smiled with expectant eyes.
[I wonder, how strong are other humans besides you?]
* * *
Coogung! Kugoogung! The sound of hitting the wall was more like a meteorite hitting the wall than hail.
“Wow!”
The wizards, who had exhausted their magic, collapsed, vomiting blood. The knights and soldiers carried them away, removing debris, and kept a constant vigil on the front of the wall.
Blocking or destroying rocks falling from the sky is almost a feat. Only a knight commander-level swordsman could pull off such a feat.
If you step forward clumsily, your sword will break and you will be crushed to death.
Because of that, the people who naturally worked hard were priests, wizards, and cyanists who could create barriers.
The artillery fire from the front had stopped, but it was mind-numbing to stop it from falling from the sky.
Flying-type monsters, no matter how huge they are, cannot carry a stone as large as the one that flew from the front.
However, even a small stone can be powerful enough to kill a person if it falls from a high place.
They were even dropping rocks as big as livestock from the sky. Its power shook those who endured it to their very bones with just the wave itself.
If it hits the wall there will be dire consequences.
When the first attack was completed and the monster birds had about half retreated, High Priest Agato asked Xian with a worried face.
“Can’t you drop those guys?”
They will come again. The retreating movement was fast. They ran out of tools, so they must be going to resupply them. Repeat the attack until the barrier collapses.
Xian replied, wiping his forehead.
“I can do that if I give up the wall and move up.”
Sweat appeared on Xian’s face. Literally. If he climbs, the wall will collapse.
The first bombardment was prevented. But they went back and were transporting stones again.
The altitude is high enough to be at the edge of vision, so neither magic nor arrows can reach it. A wizard capable of defeating them has no choice but to go up and fight.
There were only a few people who could do that, and they were busy protecting the wall.
The situation is no different for ministers. So, with the power of the Earth Spirit, he seeks a solution from Xian, who has the most power.
“Now that the attacks have subsided, isn’t it an opportunity to go up and stop them?”
“If the full-scale bombardment resumes, will you be able to stop it without me?”
Because of this, it is only possible for Xian to empty the barrier when he truly has no choice.
Above all, Sian was not confident in aerial combat. The further away he is from the earth, the less his power decreases.
I couldn’t guarantee that I could catch the agile and fast flying monsters.
To avoid being disturbed, they are cunningly climbing up to a very high place and dropping stones. It was a difficult time.
Agato shook his head.
“Repairing walls is not our specialty. It doesn’t look like the wizards have the power to do that. But if it continues like this, how long will I be able to endure?”
“If Helmut and his group defeat Baharek, their control will be weakened and they will not be able to take organized action. “Monsters fight amongst themselves.”
Sian spoke hopeful words.
“It’s good to block, but do your best to get out of the way. “You have to hold out for as long as possible.”
“There is still room in the area that the priests can block, but they won’t be able to block it until the third time.”
“I will try my best.”
As he spoke, Xian felt strangely proud. In this crisis situation?
It doesn’t make sense, but he is no longer the same person he was when he entered the Forest of Pahe to rescue Helmut.
He grew stronger, the strongest of those left, to the point that even the High Priest sought his help.
‘It’s rewarding work.’
Although he was the deputy head of the magic department at Greta Academy, he was so ordinary that he became such an important figure. It is a new realization.
‘Anyway, what are these guys doing? It’s just Baharek.’
The party that defeated the Demon King is struggling against the likes of Baharek. It’s unknown. Xian tilted his head.
‘Everyone has relaxed a lot.’
But his leisure did not last long. A cloud-like shadow fell high in the sky.
A collection of small dots. It also looked like a flock of mayflies.
“What is that?”
Xian lifted his gaze upward to see Helmut and his group. And found it.
The sight of countless monsters gathered there. And in the middle of it all, a huge rock surrounded by monsters and the magical energy they emit. It was as big as a rock thrown by an artillery barrage, and they were climbing even higher.
“oh my god.”
Xian was shocked. A collaboration like that? If it was Baharek’s idea, he was smarter than I thought.
They had already almost reached their goal to go up and stop them. If that rock falls and hits you directly.
A tragic future was vividly depicted. Almost everyone on this wall will die, and the wall will be devastated.
Xian shook his head furiously for a short period of time.
But there was no other way. Before they knew it, they had reached their goal.
And it started. A small shadow like a dot starting to descend.
It fell from the sky and immediately expanded in size. Gaining tremendous acceleration from a very high place. An attack on a completely different level than before.
Xian created magical power. Tree vines grew rapidly from beneath the wall, wrapping around the wall and rising upward. It must be avoided.
“Everybody attack that thing! We have to shake it out of the wall, towards the Forest of Pahe!”
Everyone was watching it. A rock that looks like a piece of star that flew from somewhere in the distant sky.
It was like a disaster. However, all of them here have been forged through countless battle experiences. No one was distracted.
Everyone waited, squeezing out all the strength they had or didn’t have. The moment the meteorite lands right over their heads.
Up to that point, I wasn’t even given time to breathe properly.
Finally, it, with its tremendous heat and power, reached its goal.
Rumbling!
