Chapter 34 – Cross
Night has fallen, inside Uther and Cordelia’s tent.
A soft light and warmth spread from the candles lit everywhere.
And in between.
A beautiful girl wearing a white dress and rabbit ears on her head was looking shy with her lips pursed.
The faint light of the candle was too small and shabby compared to the darkness of the night, but thanks to that, the girl’s beauty caught the attention of those around her like a ray of light in the darkness.
Blushing cheeks, moist eyes, and lips that draw a pleasing curve every time she purses her lips.
The girl hesitated for a while, then swallowed dry saliva, and the ridges on her long, white neck trembled slightly.
The girl opened her lips and let out a gasp of breath.
“Yes, my dear Prince Yude.”
The girl’s cheeks turned even redder at the words of love that had been expressed, and the surroundings that had been softly warmed by the candlelight also became hot.
“That, and······.”
Sweat dripped down the girl’s smooth jawline, and she clenched her hands together and mustered up her courage to confess.
“I, I… I can’t, I can’t live without you, Prince Yu.”
The words he spoke with a slight hesitation were wet.
It was a voice that seemed to combine the girl’s shyness and determination.
But it didn’t end there.
The girl took several deep breaths and spoke again, mustering up her courage.
“I’m Prince Yuder’s, and Prince Yuder’s is mine… What the heck! Hey!”
That was it.
Cordelia threw the script she was holding on the floor and scolded Yuder.
“Hey! You bad boy! What kind of script is this! Huh?!”
I could even let my beloved Prince Yude go.
Yeah, I could somehow understand that I couldn’t live without Yuder.
The purpose was to protect Uder from Adelia.
But what?
“Am I yours? Am I yours?”
The content was important, but it was also difficult to talk about.
How can I say something like that in front of other people!
“Whoa, whoa. Relax, relax.”
“Woof, woof! Growl! Woof!”
“No, if you find it cute even when you’re angry, what do you want me to do?”
“what?”
“No, anyway. It’s fair. It’s not like you unilaterally said it’s mine, but I said it’s yours too.”
What a fair story this is.
Cordelia hesitated for a moment when Uther spoke with a calm face, but she wasn’t fooled.
“No! It’s fair and ignorant! What is this content!”
“Is there a problem?”
“It’s all a problem from beginning to end!”
“Hey, what are you talking about? Come on, take a deep breath and think about it.”
“What are you thinking?”
“Old memories. Do you remember when you first started acting?”
“More or less.”
“I remember it clearly. At that time, the line was like this.”
After saying that, Yuder coughed once and then spoke in a composed voice as if he was reciting poetry.
“You, I want to have some time alone with Prince Yu! I’ll be back before dinner, so wait for me! Don’t worry!”
“Ugh.”
It came to mind again.
When I went out on an outdoor date to get Solari’s necklace from Raizegang.
‘Oh, it’s still okay.’
It was okay. It was tolerable.
But it really wasn’t yet.
“Then it went like this.”
Uder cleared his throat by coughing and spoke in a more hoarse voice than before.
“I want to go with my beloved Prince Yude! Come on, I can’t let you go!”
“Ugh······.”
Cordelia’s face turned bright red.
No, it wasn’t just her face that was red, her neck and ears were also red.
But unfortunately, that wasn’t the end.
“I’m going on a honeymoon trip with my beloved Prince Yude. I’ll be back in a few days, so don’t bother looking for me. Okay?”
“Eww······.”
Cordelia covered her face with both hands, and a sob escaped her lips without her knowing it.
My legs gave out and I collapsed to the ground.
“Then I left this letter. ‘I will continue my honeymoon with Miss Cordelia, whom I love more than life itself. I have also become healthy by eating sunflowers, so please do not come looking for me. P.S. I am truly happy now.’”
“That, that’s enough······.”
“By the way, you asked me to do this. I really liked it.”
It was true.
I finally remember how much I liked it when I made Yuder do it once.
Why would that be?
Why was I like that that day?
As Cordelia crouched down and let out a groan, Uder, who had a very refreshing expression on his face, ended his speech with a pleased smile.
“Okay, if you listen, you’ll understand, but it’s getting a little stronger, right? Should I say it’s progressing? So shouldn’t we go a little further this time?”
It was valid.
It was a story that made quite a bit of sense.
but!
But even so!
“Eww······.”
I wanted to jump up and beat up Yuder, but I didn’t have the strength to do so.
For a girl who had only loved games for over ten years of her life, whether long or short, the current situation was too stimulating.
So Uder approached Cordelia and spoke kindly.
“Um… Anyway, wouldn’t this be enough to stop Adelia?”
That’s true.
The purpose of this script practice from the beginning was to stop Adelia.
Adelia was Cordelia’s older sister – and she was an older sister who cared for Cordelia very much, so if Cordelia loved Uther very much, she would likely back down no matter what.
There is no parent who wins over their child.
‘Here we are talking about my sister and brother.’
Anyway, Uther waited for Cordelia to recover, and when Cordelia had barely recovered a little, she started beating Uther mercilessly.
“Ugh! Ugh!”
“Let’s get human language back, okay?”
I wonder if this is a side effect of Beast Mode.
When Uther spoke half seriously and half jokingly, Cordelia pinched Uther roughly and then took a deep breath.
He jumped up from his seat and shouted.
“Okay, let’s say it all goes away! Let’s say I understand!”
To protect Uder from Adelia!
Use stronger dialogue than before to show progress in the relationship!
I was able to get over it all.
I was able to understand it somehow.
But why!
“Why, why is Mr. Rough Snow Avalanche here!”
As Cordelia pointed to the corner of the tent and shouted, the person in question – Rough Snow Avalanche, who had been crouching in the corner and watching Uther and Cordelia’s farce, nodded and said.
“Right, right. I also want to ask. Why are you showing me this? It’s cute, though.”
Cordelia’s cheeks, which had barely calmed down at the words “she’s cute,” turned red again, and Uther spoke with a calm face.
“Because you have to be able to do it naturally in front of other people.”
“No, I don’t think it’s a relationship that necessarily needs to be practiced.”
Since I was a rough sean who knew nothing about the true relationship between Uther and Cordelia, the practice itself felt awkward, but regardless of that, I began to doubt the necessity of the practice itself.
‘Whoever sees it, doesn’t this couple look amazing?’
They are so compatible that it seems like they were born as a couple.
“Well, anyway, let’s take a short break.”
“Ugh… Do I have to do more?”
“I have to do more. I have to get used to it.
At Uther’s words, Cordelia nodded with her shoulders slumped.
She was so embarrassed that her head started to heat up and it became difficult for her to think normally.
Anyway, Uder sat Cordelia down on the bed, who had become strangely calm, and looked back at the rough avalanche and said.
“Master Rough Snow Avalanche, how is the construction of the Eastern Alliance going?”
“You’re suddenly talking seriously.”
It was a story that came out of nowhere, but it was a necessary story.
Red Wind has been holding the Phoenix for two days.
Rough Avalanche walked to the bed with his arms outstretched, and Cordelia quickly picked him up and sat him down on the bed.
“Whew, good. Anyway, the story is progressing faster than I thought.”
The construction of the Eastern Alliance was already progressing quite quickly since three wild gods had already appeared, but with the news that Uder and Cordelia had brought regarding the Golden Dragon King, the process gained even more momentum.
“The West is already polluted, and the Golden Dragon King has requested it… The Wild Gods who had been hesitating to back out have also begun to step forward. Perhaps, after this Karaval ends, a powerful Eastern Alliance will be formed centered around one tribe, either the Great Storm Tribe or the Bladesong Tribe.”
Uder narrowed his eyes at the description of the rough avalanche.
“Then the scale of Caraval may be larger than originally planned.”
“That’s right. The basic structure of a one-on-one match between Red Wind and Sun Song will remain the same, but the number and quality of the audience will change. Most of the tribal chieftains in the east will probably gather to see this Caraval.”
Not to simply watch the fight, but to discuss the formation of an Eastern Alliance.
Uder asked again.
“Is there no response from the West? I’m sure they are aware of the situation here.”
“It’s not like there aren’t any spies at all, so they probably know a little bit. We’re also keeping a close eye on the West’s movements. However… Our judgment is that they seem to be more focused on the complete unification of the West. Right now, the main force of the Angry Horn Tribe is on an expedition to the westernmost part.”
In other words, the story was that they were so focused on unifying the West that they couldn’t do anything about the East.
‘I understand.’
Everything we’ve done in the East so far has been more like small-scale covert operations.
“But, Mr. Rough Snow Avalanche.”
As the conversation continued, Cordelia, who had barely recovered, raised her hand and asked. The rough-looking Avalanche immediately smiled and accepted.
“Okay, what are you curious about?”
“You said earlier that most of the tribal leaders would be gathered.”
“That’s right.”
“Then do the wild gods gather too?”
Before coming to the wild land, Uther and Cordelia did not know for sure whether the Wild Gods actually existed or not.
But now it was different.
By directly encountering the Great Storm, I learned that the Wild Gods were real, and by encountering the Wild Avalanche, I learned that the monsters in the original story that I had previously thought were hellish creatures were actually corrupted Wild Gods.
‘A wild god who protects the tribe.’
As can be seen in the case of the Fair Snow Wind and the Great Storm, the tribesmen greatly respected the will of the wild gods they worshipped.
In other words, the story was that what was important in establishing the Eastern Alliance was the will of the wild gods rather than the will of the tribal chiefs.
The rough-eyed Avalanche, who had read the general meaning of Cordelia’s question, smiled faintly and shook his head.
“Most of the wild gods probably won’t participate. Each wild god has their own sanctuary, and it’s basic to live within it. Even though Gounnunbaram has formed an alliance with the Great Storm, isn’t he still staying in the basin, which is his sanctuary?”
So, the other wild gods would also be guarding their own sanctuaries for the time being.
“Then what about Mr. Rough Snow Avalanche?”
Even the wild avalanche is a wild god, and isn’t it staying in the land of such a great storm right now?
At Cordelia’s question, Uther glanced away, and the rough snowball shouted in anger.
“You broke it! You broke it!”
My sanctuary! My rock mountain!
Of course, it wasn’t all broken, half of it remained.
“Ahem, anyway, I guess Mr. Rough Snow Avalanche will be visiting Caraval.”
“Well, I guess so.”
When Rough Avalanche grumbled and answered, Cordelia felt sorry and hugged Rough Avalanche, and Rough Avalanche did not refuse the beautiful girl’s hand.
“Ahem.”
The combination of the baby bear and the pretty girl was really nice to see, but Yuder coughed with an uncomfortable expression and continued talking while lightly grabbing the rough-eyed Avalanche’s hand.
“Anyway, there’s not much time left until Caraval.”
“Yes, but I believe in the Red Wind. I have the Phoenix in my hand, and I am practicing really hard.”
That was right.
It was the Red Wind that had been showing explosive growth since obtaining the Phoenix.
Moreover, with the addition of customized lessons from Uder and Cordelia, the odds of winning in Caraval were increasing day by day.
‘What Cordelia teaches is the unique fighting method of the Red Wind, which deals with the spirit of fire.’
Because the character I played the most after Cordelia was Red Wind.
Furthermore, since Cordelia had to give in to Yuder in battle, Yuder left the growth of the Red Wind completely up to Cordelia.
‘I will be in charge of the countermeasures for the Sun Song.’
It was Yuder who had memorized all of the battle patterns of the Song of the Sun.
Of course, what Yuder had memorized was the battle pattern of the fallen Sun Song, but since what changed with corruption was temperament and personality, it was highly likely that the basic martial arts themselves would remain the same.
‘Learn fighting techniques from Cordelia and have a mock battle with me, fighting like the Sun Song.’
It was the best training I could do right away.
‘But time is of the essence.’
There are now only four days left until Caraval – practically three days.
‘Can you make it on time?’
‘It has to match.’
After exchanging glances with Cordelia, Uder nodded once and then looked back at the rough avalanche.
At that gaze, the rough-looking Avalanche suddenly clapped his hands and jumped down from the bed, saying:
“Oh, by the way, I have something to tell you.”
“A story?”
We just talked about forming the Eastern Alliance, but is there anything else you want to talk about?
When Uther and Cordelia showed curiosity, Avalanche said with a slightly wicked-but-amused smile.
“I heard your brother and sister are arriving in two days.”
Gale and Adelia return from their trip to Blade Beak Canyon in vain.
To meet Uther and Cordelia.
To catch two people!
“Euuuu······.”
Cordelia closed her eyes tightly, and Uther held her hand.
Although he had teased Cordelia in various ways, Yuder was nervous when he thought of meeting her in person.
But it was an unavoidable fate.
Four days until Caraval.
The night, with only two days left until my brother and sister’s invasion, deepened.
&
It was a day when the sky was exceptionally clear.
Standing side by side on the pure white snow field, Uther and Cordelia looked into the distance, and without waiting for anyone to say anything, they were able to find each other.
Two days after hearing the story from the rough avalanche.
Today has finally come.
“Hoo··· Hoo······.”
Cordelia’s cheeks were tense as she took deep breaths.
Uther looked back at Cordelia and asked.
“Are you nervous?”
“I’m shaking.”
“It’s okay, I’m here.”
“Is it because of you that I’m shaking?”
Because I had to protect Uther from Adelia.
“Whew, whoosh.”
Cordelia took another deep breath, clenched her teeth once, and straightened her posture.
Uther also stood up straight and looked straight ahead next to Cordelia.
“Coming.”
Over there.
Adelia and Gail appeared.
