< Chapter 29 - Hell Gate >
Chapter 29 – Hell Gate
Saint Archangel Lena.
A bright, kind, and compassionate woman. An angel of mercy who deserves the nickname of saint more than anyone else.
She opened the gates of hell.
He unleashed countless monsters on Endymion.
But more than all those facts, Cordelia was excited by something else.
He approached Lena with his eyes wide open.
“Lena!”
It wasn’t the face of Lena that Cordelia knew.
It was different from her dying face that appeared in the cinematic movie.
Her blonde hair was still there, but her white skin had turned a light purple.
Where there should have been clear, blue eyes, there were red and black ones. Instead of white pupils, there was black, and the red pupils were long and slitted like those of a snake.
What happened?
Lena is originally an angel.
He is an angel on earth who obtained the power of an angel through ancestral regression.
“Don’t come any closer. Don’t come any closer.”
Lena quickly backed away, avoiding Cordelia’s touch.
Cordelia looked back at Uther with a face that looked like she was about to cry.
Cordelia didn’t know how Lena became like this, but at least she knew what kind of condition she was in.
‘Devil’s disease.’
It was a disease that afflicted those who were consumed by the energy of hell.
Most humans would die instantly if they were exposed to the aura of hell, but some who were mentally and physically strong contracted the demonic disease.
The effect of the demon bottle was simple.
Become a devil.
Usually, they became lowly monsters without any intelligence, but some, with truly noble and strong minds and trained bodies, became intelligent demons.
And now Lena was suffering from the demon disease.
This allowed Uder to come up with a more complete solution.
“You escaped from hell. In the process, the gates of hell opened.”
Lena nodded slowly.
“I was dragged to Hell while fighting against demons in the Argon Empire. I fought and fought and barely managed to escape… but as a result, the gates of Hell opened.”
Lena looked extremely distressed.
She lost not only her Master, who she had thought of as a father – no, a father himself – but also everyone she loved due to the tragedy of Paragon.
But he opened the gates of hell with his own hands, which could once again bring about Paragon’s tragedy.
I couldn’t stand it.
I had to solve this problem even if it meant sacrificing my life.
‘I can’t use my angel powers properly because of the demon disease. The reason I got better from the demon disease right before I died was because I used up too much power.’
It all makes sense.
Lena sacrificed herself to close the gates of hell and died a lonely death.
“We have to close the gates of hell. I’ll do anything to close them.”
Lena said in an earnest tone.
It was an expression and voice that seemed as if he was confessing his own mistakes.
“It’s not Lena’s fault.”
Cordelia said.
Then Lena shook her head.
“No, it’s my fault······.”
“No. Anyway, no. Lena didn’t open the door on purpose. Lena is a good person, and she’s still trying to close the door somehow. That’s right. So don’t make such a miserable face. Yuder and I will help you. Close the door together and go back laughing.”
Cordelia, who was almost pouring out her words, smiled after taking Lena’s hand.
If you look at them one by one, they were just empty words, but Lena laughed along with Cordelia.
It started off awkwardly, but it was the first proper smile since the gates of hell opened.
And that made Cordelia smile even more.
She smiled brightly and hugged Lena’s shoulders as she said.
“You can do it. Our Yuder is amazing. He’ll figure out a way. Won’t he?”
This time again, it was a remark without a solution.
But Uder nodded at those words, which were full of strong belief.
“You can do it. So let’s check the situation first. Lena, you said there was a way to replenish your strength, right?”
Before we knew it, it was Yuder who started leading the conversation.
Instead of answering right away, Lena looked back at Cordelia and Uther, then smiled again.
‘It feels like I’m with Landius.’
A man who is both absurdly positive and a reliable wall that you can lean on anytime, anywhere.
“I was thinking of using Endymion’s great magic circle.”
Lena just waved her hands in the air and cast her magic.
Then, a complex shape made of white light was drawn over Endymion’s conductor that was materializing in the air.
“The ancient High Elves risked everything to fight a final showdown with the Daemon Prince at Endymion… and ultimately weaponized their own capital city.”
After absorbing the magical power of all citizens residing in the capital at once, he activates a magic circle and injects the concentrated and amplified power into one person to fight against the Demon Prince.
“We discovered that Endymion still has a considerable amount of magical power stored within it. If we can activate the spell… we should be able to gather enough magical power to open the Heavenly Seal.”
It was a plausible story.
But Uther sensed a problem with Lena’s story, and Cordelia instinctively realized it.
‘The method Lena used in the original.’
And that’s how Lena ended up dying.
So, that plan alone wasn’t enough.
Something had to be tampered with.
“Wait a minute, according to this sentence, shouldn’t the target of our power be an angel?”
Kaplan, whose presence had been blurred for a moment with Bellagio, spoke as he looked at the painting drawn in the air.
As a professor of archaeology at the Academy of Archeology, he was fluent in ancient languages.
“that······.”
Lena hesitated for a moment as if she had been pricked in a sore spot, then continued speaking slowly.
“Yes, in order to use this power, you must have the angel’s factor. Even though I have the demon disease… I haven’t lost the angel’s factor. I can do it somehow.”
Lena ended her words with a smile, but Yuder and Cordelia were not fooled.
This was it.
The reason Lena lost her life.
Lena, who was suffering from the demon disease, was not a proper angel at the moment. Lena herself would have been greatly affected by the concentrated holy power.
So, I had to change my plans.
And Uther and Cordelia had a way.
‘I’ll do it.’
Cordelia spoke to Uther with her eyes.
Although she had not yet returned to her ancestors, she possessed the generosity of an angel.
Although she wielded the power of a witch from the devil, there was no reason for her holy power to be affected if she did not become a witch.
‘Are you sure you’re going to do it?’
‘I will definitely do it.’
Cordelia’s eyes seemed to glow with fire.
That’s why Uder admitted it.
It was impossible to stop Cordelia now.
Although Uther wanted to avoid using force on Cordelia if possible, Cordelia was right now.
The best solution would have been for Cordelia to take Lena’s place.
“Let’s do it.”
“Leave it to me.”
Cordelia, with her bright and charming smile, immediately began to explain herself to Lena, while Uther turned to Kaplan.
“Lord Kaplan, can you help me?”
“Me?”
“Yes, I need Lord Kaplan’s help to activate the magic circle. I need to operate the console to operate the magic circle.”
Although it was Yuder’s first time in Endymion, it was not his first time in the high elf kingdom of Magellan. He had already encountered a similar type of magic circle in Magellan’s ruins elsewhere.
‘The reason it took Lena so long was because she had to do everything by herself.’
But not now. Kaplan would be able to operate the console written in the ancient language of the high elves without difficulty.
“I’m so glad I’m with Professor Kaplan.”
Kaplan flinched at Uder’s words, but then nodded with a big smile.
“Leave it to me. I’ve seen something similar in a research paper.”
“Yes, I will believe you.”
Uther tapped Kaplan on the shoulder and walked towards Cordelia and Lena.
Lena looked a little surprised at Cordelia’s words, but instead of doubting her, she looked apologetic.
“It will be a big burden.”
“It’s okay. Even though it looks like this, it’s very sturdy.”
Cordelia, who was laughing and pounding her chest, immediately looked back at Yuder.
“Uder, if you activate the ritual, the demons will notice. So you need to divert their attention somewhere else… Why is your expression like that?”
“No, I’m surprised you came up with this plan… I’m sorry. Please don’t hit me.”
Cordelia clenched her fists and let out a laugh when Uther said it playfully, but her expression soon relaxed. She knew that it was a prank that was intentionally played for Lena.
“Lena, I would like to ask you to use a magic circle to seal the heavens.”
Now, it was absolutely impossible to learn high-level magic like the Celestial Seal by lightning strike.
Lena also smiled at Cordelia’s request.
“Yes, I will prepare it right away.”
The atmosphere of the group completely changed in just a few minutes.
Close the gates of Hell and solve Endymion’s case. Save Lena’s life.
“You can do it.”
Yuder spoke softly and took a step forward.
The operation has begun.
&
In order to activate Endymion’s magic circle, all nine magic stones located at the corners of the underground city had to be activated.
But it wasn’t that difficult.
Because six of them had already been activated by Lena.
While Kaplan manipulated the console and Lena drew the magic circle of the Heavenly Seal, Yuder went around the outskirts of the city and activated the magic stones.
When Yuder, whose level of skill had reached a high level, decided to hide, the lower-level monsters, who did not even have a proper command system, could not even catch Yuder’s shadow.
‘Okay, everything is going well.’
The last ninth magic stone was also activated.
Now it was time to return to the central tower, join up with Lena, and begin a diversionary tactic to distract the demons.
“Uder!”
“Lena!”
When we reached the first floor of the tower, Lena approached us with quick steps. This was because she had just finished drawing the magic circle.
Everything really went smoothly.
If we continued like this, we would be able to successfully close the gates of hell.
But it was still impossible.
Time passed while I was wandering around trying to activate the magic stone.
The Gates of Hell have finally begun to change from Stage 1 to Stage 2.
Aaaah-!
The sound of the whirlwind shook the entire underground city.
The evil spirits of hell grew even stronger, and a terrible evil energy spread in all directions.
The gates of hell have also grown larger.
The crack had widened further and now looked like a real door.
And then more monsters started coming over.
A demon with a nickname also appeared.
The distance was far.
There was a distance of several hundred meters between the Gates of Hell and the Tower.
But it was still large enough to be clearly visible.
Atop a huge carriage pulled by hellhounds stood Lacto, radiating powerful energy.
It was not an ordinary lacto, but a powerful demon with a nickname.
The moment he appeared, the atmosphere in the underground city stirred once again.
Just his appearance made my hair stand on end.
“Bandai Gel.”
Yuder and Lena said almost simultaneously.
To Yuder, he was a boss who appeared in the middle of Hero Chronicles 2, and to Lena, he was a persistent pursuer who had chased her through hell several times.
‘I have to get his attention.’
He wasn’t usually a strong guy.
If the ritual had been activated without warning, the tower could have been destroyed before the power of the magic circle could be focused on Cordelia.
So I had to fight him to buy some time.
It was the job of Uther and Lena to keep him from reaching the tower.
“You just have to hold out for three minutes.”
Lena smiled at Yuder’s words.
“Yes, 3 minutes.”
“It’s going to be a really long three minutes.”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Lena wasn’t normal right now.
But she was one of the five heroes.
Even though she was infected with the demon disease, she was still the hero who ended the tragedy of the Paragon Kingdom.
‘It’s a strange feeling.’
Fight alongside the heroes of Heroes Chronicles 1.
Rather than being protected or helped, we stand together as equals.
‘I was a little crazy too.’
My heart is pounding in the midst of all this.
“Let’s go, Yuder.”
“Yes, Lena.”
Yuder and Lena walked straight towards the gates of Hell.
And Bandai Gel felt it.
I stood at the gates of hell, looked into the distance, and smiled.
“Lena.”
Bandai Gel was a demon with a nickname.
The moment he appeared, the disorderly horde of monsters transformed into a single army.
Everyone looked in the same direction at the same time.
There was still some distance between them. There were dozens of buildings lined up in between.
But it didn’t mean much.
“It’s three minutes.”
“3 minutes.”
Something will work out.
Yuder, smiling brightly, activated the power of the Nine Heavenly Gates.
Lena also concentrated her magical power into both hands.
“Cordelia.”
Uder spoke unconsciously, and his words became a signal.
Yuder and Lena kicked the ground.
At the same time, Bandai Zell shouted loudly, and the hellish monsters rushed forward, making the ground shake.
Kwagagagagaga-!
Added to that.
A loud noise as the ground shook, and a light so strong and beautiful that it instantly drove away the darkness in the underground city.
A pillar of light rose up from the nine magic stones at once.
The ground glowed and a powerful ancient magic circle began to activate.
The monsters hesitated for a moment.
But it wasn’t Bandai Gel.
He didn’t have a clear understanding of what was happening, but he knew he had to act immediately.
“Destroy it! Destroy it! Sweep it all away!”
At Bandai Gel’s rebuke, the monsters began to move again.
Bandai Zell himself spread his large wings and kicked the carriage up.
And then Yuder and Lena split up to do their own roles.
Only Lena could stop the countless monsters rushing towards the tower.
So the role of natural yude was fixed.
“3 minutes.”
Round 1 against Bandai Gel.
“Cordelia.”
Yuder, who chanted Cordelia’s name once more as if praying, began to charge forward. He flew towards Bandaizel, who had begun to fly straight towards the tower.
Black Dragon Cross Strike!
From the very beginning, he unleashed his strongest skills.
As the mighty black cross broke through the air and advanced, Bandaizel stopped his charge. He swung his whip at the black cross rushing toward him.
Quagga River!
The black cross was shattered in an instant. Not only that, the atmosphere was torn apart, and sparks flew along the trajectory of the whip on the ground.
A demon with a nickname.
A monster that is not even sealed, but is fresh from hell and is brimming with power.
The guy smiled.
We captured Uther located beyond the place where the black cross was crushed.
“hi.”
Uther spoke, and the bastard went berserk. He seemed to raise a black wave of energy like a flame, and then he charged at Uther.
Tsuk!
The whip cracked through the air again.
And everything in its path was destroyed.
Kwarung! Boom!
It wasn’t thunder. It was the sound of buildings collapsing all at once.
Uther kicked the ground. He ran and ran, kicking the debris of the collapsing building.
‘Let’s focus on avoidance.’
Let’s act like outboxers.
A head-on confrontation was out of the question. I had to outmaneuver him with my mobility.
Faster.
A little faster!
bang!
A giant hammer destroyed the spot where Yuder had just stood.
It was the Warhammer in Bandai Zell’s right hand.
Bandai Gel is about 7 meters tall.
To Uder, he was a giant, but he was by no means slow.
bang!
There was a loud noise again.
This time it was Yuder. Instead of creating a whirlwind and a whirlwind to distance himself from Bandaizel, he actually narrowed the gap between them.
I couldn’t get his attention by simply running away.
Bloody hell.
The red sword slashed Bandai Zeal’s waist.
It was shallow.
But it was enough to make people bleed.
“You little rat!”
A furious Bandaizel turned around with a roar and whipped Yuder.
It was sharp and fast.
It was an attack that could not be avoided.
That’s why Yuder didn’t dodge. He didn’t deviate from the trajectory of the whip.
Kwajik!
The land was pulverized.
But Uther was not like that. He ignored the blow with the fairy’s footsteps.
After passing the attack across the space, he ran straight ahead.
“Noom!”
Bandai Gel spread his wings.
It was fast.
So this one had to be faster.
The black wind has arrived, the twenty-four steps of the whirlwind.
A pitch-black wind blew.
A black gust of wind tore through the buildings, splitting them apart.
“Wow!”
Bandai Zell increased his speed even further. He tore apart the space itself with his iron whip, and vomited the afterglow of the lion, shaking not only the atmosphere but also the black gale.
“Ugh!”
Yuder, who was running, was thrown out. Unable to completely avoid the waves that were rushing in, he rolled on the ground, and Bandaizel appeared in front of Yuder and swung his hammer without any response.
bang!
I rolled over and avoided it.
But once was the limit.
When the bastard swung the whip again, this time there was no way to dodge.
The whip split the air.
They rushed to make Yuder bloody.
The fairy’s steps had already been used.
So I had to do something else.
I had to somehow avoid his attacks.
What should I do?
There was no time.
It was impossible to counter with the time-consuming Black Dragon Cross Strike.
It was impossible to avoid the iron whip that covered the space with just a few steps.
So what should we do?
What should I do?
Moment.
A gap in time.
Uder calculated.
No, I didn’t calculate it.
At this moment, just like Cordelia, I felt it instinctively.
It was a strange thing.
It was such a short time, but I was able to think during that moment.
It was even possible to memorize the spells.
That’s why Uther took action.
Instead of the twenty-four steps of the whirlwind, the thirty-six steps of the world were added to the nine heavenly and nine heavenly gates.
Just as the Holy Cross was advanced to the Black Dragon Cross, new powers were given to the Thirty-Six Treasures of the World.
And the result.
Quagaga River!
It was like thunder.
A terrifying series of sledgehammers swept across the surrounding area, destroying everything in its path.
But Bandai Gel couldn’t smile.
The bastard’s face was distorted.
Because it wasn’t everything.
Because there was one person who survived the fierce storm of destruction.
Uder was standing.
It wasn’t a long move.
It was still sitting where it had originally stood.
The 36 Treasures of the World were a tactic that allowed one to extend in all directions to evade attacks from all directions.
The power of the nine heavenly gates was added to it.
So Yuder was able to escape.
No matter how stormy the lashes of the sledgehammer may be, they are ultimately attacks created by a single line.
If you can pinpoint the exact direction in which that line is pouring, and if you can avoid that one line perfectly.
Repeat.
The 36 steps of the sky can be used to continuously fly the new type in any direction, escaping the trajectory drawn by the line.
And thus, we finally escape the storm itself.
“Cough.”
Uder let out a ragged breath. Blood flowed out from his lips, and his legs gave out and he collapsed to the floor.
‘It’s still too much.’
I couldn’t handle it properly.
It was a miracle that we were able to avoid the recent attack.
Bandai Gel was embarrassed.
But the bastard soon came to his senses.
It’s true that Yuder showed miraculous movements, but now he was sitting still.
“Die.”
Cliché.
Uther sat down, gasping for breath, and looked at the hammer, then collapsed on the floor.
He recited a person’s name.
“Cordelia.”
The time has come.
3 minutes have passed.
The tower began to glow.
Bandai Gel knew it too.
I was aware that great power was concentrated in the tower.
But I didn’t care.
Because the immediate priority was to kill Yuder.
I never committed the foolish act of looking back at the tower.
Just keep holding the hammer.
Strike down and crush the enemies in front of you.
It was the right thing to do.
It was a precious rule that had saved Bandai Gel’s life until now.
But that’s why I didn’t see Bandai Gel.
A woman who values Uther’s life more than closing the gates of hell approaches.
As soon as he gained Endymion’s power, instead of activating the magic circle, he clenched his fist and kicked the ground, causing the woman to rush forward.
“Uder!”
bang!
There was a loud noise.
Bandai Zell had no choice but to look back, but it was already too late. An intangible force of unparalleled strength struck Bandai Zell and blew him away.
Quagagagaga!
Bandai Gel’s massive body rolled across the ground, destroying buildings.
And Cordelia didn’t care.
Her entire body covered in pure white light, she landed next to Yuder.
“Hey! Are you okay? Hey!”
“It’s okay, it’s okay.”
I appreciated your concern, but pulling me by the collar actually made it difficult for me to breathe.
“Seal, quickly······.”
Uther said, taking Cordelia’s hand.
I was grateful that they came running to save me, but I had to hurry and close the gates of hell.
Endymion’s power would last only a few dozen seconds at most. He had to return to the tower right now and activate the Heavenly Seal magic circle that Lena had installed on the top floor of the tower.
But before Yuder could even finish speaking.
Bandai Gel raised his body again.
As soon as he woke up, he blew a powerful wave of air, and Cordelia quickly waved her hand to block the wave.
Quagga River!
There was a terrible roar, and Cordelia swallowed a scream. Endymion’s power was so great that if he were to maintain his power, it would be enough to destroy Cordelia herself.
Uther figured it out too.
So I tried to say something again, but Cordelia was faster.
She suddenly smiled charmingly and looked straight at Yuder.
“hey.”
“uh?”
“Do you trust me?”
What is this all of a sudden?
As Yuder made a blank expression for a moment, Bandai Zell, who had been hit by the wave and blown away, stood up again, destroying the debris of the building.
There was no time now.
Uther looked at Cordelia.
Cordelia was looking at Uther with a smile that showed a few fangs.
Yuder nodded at those blue eyes.
“Believe me.”
“Then I’ll do it. Don’t worry about Kaplan, Luke will take care of it.”
“uh?”
That was it. Cordelia didn’t say anything else this time.
Commit.
Since Yuder believes in me, I’ll do it anyway.
Cordelia stood up straight and looked at Bandaizel.
I said this to him and Uther at the same time.
“I was looking at the map on the tower and I found out that there’s a dragon vein flowing here too?”
The dragon’s vein flows.
What are you talking about all of a sudden?
Why all of a sudden-
I understand.
I realized.
So Uder jumped up and shouted.
“Hey! Hey hey!”
No! Hey! No way! Hey!
But it was already too late.
I already said I believe it.
“The second way to close the gates of hell.”
It destroys the very place where the gates of hell opened.
“And as a bonus, we’ll kill the demons too.”
Bandai Gel still couldn’t understand.
Instead of trying to stop Cordelia, Uther gave up and closed his eyes.
And Cordelia laughed ferociously, her fangs flashing. She gathered all of Endymion’s power and created a spear of Calamite, which she then slammed down into the ground.
Endymion’s power itself was injected into the dragon vein.
What happens because of that.
Something Cordelia can do.
“Fuck, bang.”
The moment Cordelia spoke so elegantly.
The dragon vein exploded with a tremendous roar.
The final days of the underground city of Endymion have begun.
