Chapter 26 – Wild Black Cow
Although there were many different types of fairies in the Pleiades, they could still be broadly classified into eight types.
Four types of seasonal fairies representing spring, summer, fall, and winter, and four element fairies symbolizing the properties of feng shui.
Wild Fairy is one of the attribute fairies, and possesses the power of the earth, symbolizing the wild, rugged vitality.
‘Among the fairies, who has the strongest physical ability?’
Even so, it was a fair fight.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Your skin is so pretty. Can I touch it? Okay? Can I? Okay, I’ll touch it.”
“Me too, me too.”
Seeing them acting as they pleased, I realized that fairies are fairies after all.
Anyway, Cordelia thought as she watched the fairies rubbing her cheeks and shoulders.
‘Why are they coming out here?’
It seemed to make sense, since wild fairies had emerged from the wild land.
‘Well, fairies live scattered all over the place.’
Originally, in order to meet the Wild Fairies in Heroes Chronicle 2, you had to go to the border between the Argon Empire and the Wild Lands.
But just as the Fairy Queen was not singular, the kingdom of the Wild Fairies was not singular either.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a pretty girl.”
“That’s right, that’s right. The only people living here besides us are animals.”
“How about the bath water? Do you like it? We took care of it.”
The quiet bathroom quickly became noisy as the fairies began to chatter.
Even Yuder, who was trying his best to keep his nerves as quiet as possible, heard the voice.
“Cordelia? Are you okay? What’s wrong?”
“Huh? Uh··· So······.”
As Cordelia trailed off, the Wild Fairies, who had turned their gazes towards Uther, opened their mouths almost simultaneously.
“and!”
“handsome!”
“Who is that person?”
“Let’s play with him too!”
“···Fairy?”
The last one was Uther.
Cordelia finally let out a long sigh as if she had given up and said.
“Like wild fairies.”
“Oh! Wild Fairy!”
The reason why Yuder’s face turned bright red was simple.
A blessing from the four seasons that can be obtained by collecting all the blessings from the fairies of the four seasons.
A protection of the four elements that can be obtained by collecting all the protections of the four great fairies of Feng Shui, Jihwa, and Jihwa.
And one more thing.
The Protection of the Fairy King is one of the three strongest protections in the Hero Chronicles series, and can only be obtained by those who have collected the Protection of the Four Seasons and the Protection of the Four Stars. It is also a fantastic protection that no one has ever obtained before.
‘Kaplan, after all!’
I never thought I’d meet a wild fairy here.
Thinking about it, Yuder suddenly remembered what Gounnunbaram had said.
‘You said that there are many mysterious races living in the Blade Beak Canyon?’
Maybe there were other pleasant coincidences waiting for me besides the wild fairies.
“Do you know us?”
“Do you want to play with us?”
“Let’s take a bath together!”
“I wonder?”
“it’s crazy?!”
When Uther smiled and responded to the fairies’ suggestion, Cordelia immediately responded, and Uther clicked his tongue.
“It doesn’t work.”
“Stop talking nonsense and put on a blindfold and come back.”
“Why the blindfold?”
“I’m going to continue bathing. I just got into the water.”
The Wild Fairies looked at each other and said as they listened to the conversation between Uther and Cordelia.
“What, what, why are you covering your eyes?”
“I’ve seen something like this in a book.”
“Really? Was the cover red?”
Cordelia wanted to say something in rebuttal, but her opponent was a fairy.
Cordelia, who had already experienced Fall Fairies and Winter Fairies, simply waited instead of protesting, and soon, the blindfolded Uther slowly but surely walked towards the bathtub where Cordelia was sitting.
“You’re handsome even with your eyes closed.”
“I like it.”
While the fairies were judging Uther’s face, Cordelia dipped her head into the water and then pulled it out, then opened her mouth while wiping her body with her hands.
“Fairies, do you want to play together?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll invite you to a night out.”
“Oh! And! That’s not all.”
“That’s not all?”
“The Queen said so. If you find someone who can help, bring them to me.”
“That’s right, that’s right. I remembered.”
Someone to help you.
Yuder, who had been silent, immediately intervened.
“Do you need help with anything?”
“Yeah! There’s an old problem that we can’t solve on our own.”
“The Queen said she would reward anyone who could bring her help.”
“Then the prize is mine?”
“Why is it yours when it’s mine?”
As the fairies began to bicker, one of the fairies with rabbit ears slowly approached Cordelia and said.
“While we fight, come with me quickly. Okay?”
“···The things he does are exactly the same as people.”
“what?”
Cordelia smiled bitterly at the rabbit-eared fairy who asked innocently, then got up from the bath and dried her head and body with magic.
“Ugh… I want to wear new clothes.”
But what can I do? I don’t have time to do laundry.
Cordelia, who had gathered up her clothes one by one, approached Uther, who was sitting on the floor nearby with his eyes closed.
“You can take it off now.”
“Huh? Want to take a bath together?”
“Don’t be so ignorant. If you keep doing that, you’ll sound like an old man.”
“Ahem.”
Uder, who had cleared his throat, took off the blindfold that had been covering his eyes and faced the Wild Fairies.
“I have heard the story. Cordelia and I will come to your aid. Please let me meet the Queen.”
“Okay! Got it!”
“let’s go!”
“for a moment!”
The last one was Cordelia.
As the fairies and Uther looked back at Cordelia, she pointed toward the entrance.
“I should take Kaplan too.”
Kaplan was lying there unconscious. What if something happened if I left him there?
“Right, I guess I should take Kaplan with me too.”
Yuder, who had gotten up from his seat, moved towards Kaplan with the Wild Fairies on his shoulders. However, the Wild Fairies showed their discomfort as soon as they saw Kaplan.
“He can’t do that.”
“Yeah, he’s a tough guy.”
“why?”
“You’re bald.”
All the other fairies nodded at the rabbit-eared fairy’s words, and Yuder felt so miserable that he couldn’t even open his mouth.
“Anyway, he’s no good.”
They were quite determined wild fairies.
‘How can it not work?’
‘Don’t you know the fairies? Persuasion is impossible.’
Rather, it would have been possible to persuade the Fairy Queen, but it was impossible for the fairies who were complete brats.
After finishing their conversation with their eyes, Uther and Cordelia hesitated for a moment about what to do, then immediately took action.
“What, what? Why are you tying up your bald head?”
“It’s called a restraint play.”
“Arrest play?”
“Yeah, what that means is······.”
“Oh my god.”
“You haven’t said anything yet?”
“Do it quickly.”
Cordelia’s expression darkened as the fairies’ conversation continued, but Uder tied Kaplan up tightly with a rope he took from his luggage and placed him inside the bathhouse.
“This is our territory, so animals don’t come here.”
“Yeah, yeah, so there won’t be any problem.”
Uther thought so too, since there wasn’t anything that looked like animal hair in the bathroom.
The reason Kaplan was tied up now was because he was worried that he would come to his senses and leave the bathhouse on his own.
‘I haven’t even picked the mulberry properly yet.’
Of course, thanks to that(?) I had met the Wild Fairies, but I hadn’t even reached the ruins of the Magic Kingdom yet.
It was impossible to just let Kaplan go, as he still had so much work to do.
“As expected, he’s evil.”
“Thank you for the compliment.”
Uther, who had even paid a theatrical courtesy to Cordelia, wrote with a pencil on a piece of paper he had found in Kaplan’s luggage.
Although there were various aristocratic adjectives attached here and there, in the end, if we were to summarize it in one sentence, it was as follows.
‘We have saved you. So don’t be afraid and just wait. We will be here soon.’
“Do you think you’ve been kidnapped?”
“Still, there’s nothing I can do.”
First of all, I had to deal with the Wild Fairies.
Uther tied a new rope around Kaplan’s ankles, which he had tightly bound, and secured the end to a pillar in the bathroom.
“Okay, let’s go now.”
“But Yuder. You’re so good at tying ropes.”
“I learned it in the Boy Scouts.”
After passing the tantrum, Yuder approached the Wild Fairies, and the Wild Fairies, who were talking amongst themselves, looked at Yuder and Cordelia, making a noise.
“I don’t want to ask what we talked about.”
Uther nodded to Cordelia, who seemed tired already, and asked the Wild Fairies.
“Would you please take me to the Queen?”
“Okay! Let’s go!”
The wild fairies flapped their wings and gathered around Uther and Cordelia, and the rest was as before.
I closed my eyes once and opened them again, and before I knew it, I was standing in a completely different space.
“Oh… Did you come right away this time?”
It was not a living space for ordinary fairies.
The Queen’s residence.
If the residence of the Fall Fairy Queen was elegant and that of the Winter Fairy Queen was refined, then the residence of the Wild Fairy Queen was, to put it nicely, full of life.
‘If I were to put it badly, I would say it’s just a mess.’
There were many different kinds of flowers and trees scattered about.
But still, the Fairy Queen is the Fairy Queen.
The numerous flowers and trees created their own harmony, so it didn’t feel messy at all.
“Children of humans. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
Uther and Cordelia looked in the same direction at the deep and mysterious voice that was different from that of other fairies.
A fairy queen with the ears and tail of a lioness was sitting on a large sunflower.
“Juder Bayer meets the Wild Fairy Queen.”
“Cordelia Chase greets you.”
A smile spread across the Fairy Queen’s face as Uther and Cordelia each bowed.
With her lush red hair and impressive fangs, she was wearing a short mini dress that looked active and comfortable, unlike the other fairy queens who were wearing fancy dresses.
But the Fairy Queen was the Fairy Queen.
Her face was filled with mature affection instead of girlish playfulness.
“You are not ordinary humans. You possess great power. So, children, I have a favor to ask of you. Please solve our problem.”
It was a somewhat different pattern than before.
But it wasn’t a bad pattern.
Depending on the problem, the story may be a little different, but this one was much easier to tear down.
‘Your eyes are evil.’
‘You too?’
Uther and Cordelia exchanged quick glances and almost simultaneously looked back at the Fairy Queen, who continued speaking in a serious tone.
“Children of men, an evil monster has appeared on the path between the dwelling place of our Wild Fairies and the kingdom of the High Elves. Can you defeat the monster and open the path again?”
Although they were fairies who could transcend time and space, that did not mean they could freely jump over space anytime, anywhere.
Since the means to jump long distances were limited, the physical path was also important, and it seemed that the monster was blocking that path.
“Can you tell what kind of monster it is?”
In response to Cordelia’s question, the Fairy Queen murmured a small spell. Then, the same image appeared in the heads of Uther and Cordelia.
A bull’s head, giant bat wings, and a body that is pitch black from head to toe.
It was clear that it was Lacto, a lower-level demon species from Hell.
‘indeed.’
‘It’s only natural that the fairies would ask for help.’
Even though he was a low-class species, Lacto was a demon from hell.
To the fairies who were already far from combat, it was an opponent they could not even hope to deal with.
“Can you do it?”
When the Fairy Queen asked with an anxious face, Uther and Cordelia nodded without hesitation.
“You can do it.”
“I’ll try.”
“Oh… Thank you so much.”
With the Fairy Queen relieved, Uther and Cordelia looked at each other again, and this time Uther spoke first.
“But, Fairy Queen.”
“I want to talk.”
“We need help too.”
“help?”
“Yes, it helps.”
The smile on Uther’s face deepened, and Cordelia’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Uder continued speaking.
“Fairy Queen, may I ask you to protect the earth?”
“Of course. I will grant you protection.”
As the Fairy Queen spoke coolly, Uther and Cordelia immediately extended their fairy bonds.
“Please take good care of me.”
“Oh my, a fairy bond. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one.”
The Fairy Queen smiled innocently and bestowed the protection of the earth.
It was a protection that strengthened overall physical abilities and granted weak regenerative powers.
“Is it done now?”
“Yes, now I need your help.”
“Okay, that went well… next help?”
“Yes, next help.”
Yuder continued speaking, immediately responding to the blinking Fairy Queen.
“Fairy Queen, you need weapons to fight the monsters.”
“Uh… Don’t you already have weapons?”
The Fairy Queen’s gaze quickly moved between the Eastern Warrior’s sword on Yuder’s waist and the Moonlight held by Cordelia.
But this time, Uder answered firmly again.
“This is not enough. The opponent is a devil.”
“That’s right, we need a stronger weapon.”
Now, Cordelia was the one who played the gong on her own without being told to do so.
The Fairy Queen thought for a moment and then said.
“Hmm… I don’t know much about human weapons. Then, children, how about you choose the weapons you will use while I show you the items left behind by the high elves?”
“thank you.”
“I’ve been waiting to hear that.”
This time the answer was immediate.
The Fairy Queen, feeling a little strange for a moment, hesitated for a moment, but soon crossed the space with Uther and Cordelia.
“You can open your eyes now.”
It was a building made of stone.
Although it was very old and worn in many places, the elegance that the passage of time could not erase remained in every place the eyes could see, including the pillars, walls, ceiling, and floor.
The architectural style of the High Elves, also known as the Ancient Elves.
It was a spacious room that seemed to be at least 10 meters long and wide. The ceiling was also quite high, probably around 7 meters, and the pillars were all attached to the walls, giving the space a very open feel.
And the most important things.
Various objects were placed on the decorative pedestals placed between the pillars.
Now that I look at it, it really seems like a place where various items used by high elves are collected, rather than an armory.
“Take your time choosing. When you’re done, call me.”
After saying that, the Fairy Queen disappeared into space again.
So in the end, only Uther and Cordelia were left.
Now that there was no one to look out for – in fact, they hadn’t been looking out for each other until now, but the two people, who felt much more relieved anyway, spoke without saying who would speak first.
“I’m on the left.”
“I’m on the right.”
The division of labor began immediately. And in the first display case, Cordelia stopped breathing.
“That’s ridiculous.”
Why is this here?
Sitting prettily on the display case was a gold brooch with a large red jewel.
As expected of a high elf item, it had a magical aura, but Cordelia already knew the name of this brooch.
“Echo of the Order.”
The effect was simple and powerful.
Repeats the spell used by the caster.
That is, if you cast Spear of Calamite while the Echo of Order is active, two Spears of Calamite will be created.
Of course, it was not something that could be abused as it doubled the magical power consumption, but being able to use two spells simultaneously in an emergency was a huge merit.
“This is it, this is it, absolutely.”
There’s no need to look at anything else.
Cordelia was so touched that she picked up the Echo of the Spell with trembling hands and carefully placed it on her chest.
“Yuder! I’ve decided! It’s the echo of the spell!”
As he turned around and shouted loudly, Yuder immediately responded.
“What?! Echo of the spell?!”
Cordelia felt a thrill of pleasure at the sight of Uther’s face, which could be said to be the epitome of astonishment.
“Yeah, yeah, it’s the echo of the order. I’ve decided on this. I don’t need to look at anything else.”
Because it was almost impossible for anything better to come out than this.
Uder also agreed.
Among the items currently available at Cordelia’s level, there were only one or two items in the entire Heroic Chronicles that were better than the Echo of the Spell.
Depending on the user’s preference, it was an echo of a spell that was even used as a graduation item.
But Uder immediately shook his head.
“What are you talking about? I have to keep watching.”
“Huh? Ah… Yeah. I’ll look for something you’d like to use.”
“No, that’s not it. You have to find something to write about.”
“Huh? I said I’m the echo of the order?”
“Just take that?”
“uh?”
“Are you just going to take that?”
Cordelia blinked several times at Uther’s words, then realized something.
It wasn’t a game, it was reality.
Moreover, the Fairy Queen never said that she could choose just one.
“Ahhh, ahhhh!”
As realization dawned on Cordelia, Uther smiled and said.
“You’ll need a lot of weapons to fight the devil.”
“That’s right, because the opponent is a devil!”
“Okay, let’s get fully armed to fight the devil.”
“Yeah, yeah, a full set from head to toe. A full full set!”
Cordelia, who shouted cheerfully, ran back towards the display case, and Uther looked back at Cordelia and the display cases with a pleased face.
‘The protection of the earth and the weapons of the high elves.’
But that wasn’t all.
Because there was still a reward left after defeating the monster.
‘I love fairies so much.’
Yuder, with a happy smile, walked towards the display case on the right.
&
“Is that all you need?”
“Yes, I need them all.”
