Chapter 22 – The Wind of Snow
When the rough avalanche that went down the rocky mountain alone took the wrong path.
Uther and Cordelia were preparing to rest after finding a suitable place to stay.
“You need a good floor to sleep well.”
Cordelia nodded several times as if in agreement with her own words, and made a bed using her Dig magic and witch’s telekinesis.
After digging a hole about a meter deep into the ground and leveling it, I covered it with a roof and used magic to generate heat inside, so I could have a fairly warm night.
‘Should I just bury a flat, large stone and then cover it with dirt?’
If you just warm the stones with magic, wouldn’t it be just like Ondol?
“Stone bed, stone bed. Longevity stone bed.”
Cordelia, who was working on her bed while humming something random, looked around.
Yuder was cooking by the campfire, and it smelled quite good.
“Hey, hey, what’s for dinner tonight?”
“I’ll have some jerky, ma’am.”
Put the chopped beef jerky in hot water, add some of the reserved grains, and season with salt.
It wasn’t much of a dish, but Cordelia couldn’t stop drooling, perhaps because she kept exerting herself.
“looks delicious.”
“It’ll be delicious. I made it.”
“Yeah, I’ll look forward to it.”
Cordelia had become accustomed to Uther’s shamelessness.
She hummed a little more, then nodded after covering her newly made bed with a tarp.
“Well, good. It’s well made.”
Because of the size of the tarpaulin, it wasn’t made very wide, but it was enough for two people to lie down.
“Are you done?”
“Okay, it’s done. What about food?”
“This side is done too.”
“I’m excited.”
Cordelia, who was dancing and shaking her hips lightly, ran to Uther, and Uther smiled without realizing it.
“why?”
“No, because what you do is cute.”
“Huh, don’t you know about small happiness? Small happiness. People need happiness, big or small.”
Small but certain happiness.
Although Uder couldn’t help but lament the fact that the daughter of the Chase Counts, one of the twelve northern families, and a peerless beauty recognized by everyone, was the one who would be eating that day, he agreed with Cordelia’s theory itself.
“That’s right, small happiness is important.”
“Yeah, yeah, that’s it.”
Cordelia, feeling happy because Uther had agreed right away, took a bite of the jerky porridge that Uther had served her.
“how is it?”
“My jjigae.”
Although it was too hot to speak properly, Cordelia smiled and Uther also started eating.
“But Yuder.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“At least we saved Mr. Red Storm.”
“Well, for now, that is. The curse won’t get any worse.”
“So what’s our plan now?”
Cordelia also knew the rough outline.
As I said while persuading the rough avalanche, the immediate task was to prevent the unification of the barbarian tribe of the Angry Horn.
But this wasn’t enough.
A concrete blueprint was needed.
“First of all… we need to create an Eastern Federation centered around the Red Storm.”
“Against the angry ox and the seven horns?”
“Oh, since you’ve already reached this far, I guess you’ve already acquired some of the West.”
It was absurd to send someone on an expedition so far away when you hadn’t even taken care of your own affairs.
Cordelia also nodded as if she understood.
“What next?”
“The Wild Gods of the East must also unite. The Eye of the Devil must have killed or corrupted the Wild Gods of the West. Now that I think about it, I think the Wild Snow Avalanche was also an enemy in the game.”
“A huge avalanche?”
“Oh, do you remember the undead bear that appeared in the middle of Act 2? It had a huge knockback attack.”
“Oh… Ah! I remembered. That’s right. Now that I think about it, they do look a bit similar.”
As Uther had said, he appeared as a half-rotten undead, but when I thought about it carefully, it was more like a wild avalanche.
“To fight the fallen wild gods, we need wild gods too. And we also have to fight the evil eye.”
“Hmm… definitely. Even a mid-level mine is burdensome, so if a high-level mine comes out, there’s no answer.”
At present, it was nearly impossible to defeat the upper-level mines with the power of Uder and Cordelia.
So, we bring those who can deal with us to our side.
‘Of course, the best thing would be for Cordelia and I to just become stronger.’
Uther and Cordelia were already quite a bit higher leveled than when they first entered the wild lands.
Moreover, both Uther and Cordelia still had plenty of room for growth.
‘The Nine Heavens and Nine Gates are still just a foreign gate. Furthermore… if I meet Lena and obtain the blood of an angel, I can make Cordelia return to her ancestors.’
Then, the desired Cordelia Archangel mode would become possible.
‘I’m looking forward to it.’
Uther briefly imagined Cordelia’s appearance as an archangel, and Cordelia slapped Uther on the back.
“Ouch! Why?”
“No, I think you’re thinking of something sinister.”
“Anyway, I feel.”
“What? Were you thinking something really sinister?”
Instead of answering, Uder changed the subject.
“Red Storm is a powerful warrior and a sorcerer. He will be able to deal with the Seven Horns if he can only use his curse.”
“Don’t change the subject.”
Cordelia glared at Uther for a moment, but it was only for a moment. She soon joined in on Uther’s story.
“There must be strong people among the warriors and chieftains of other tribes, right?”
“There must be. Among the wild gods, there must be those specialized in battle.”
“And Lena.”
“That’s right, Lena.”
One of the five main characters in the first volume of Heroes’ Chronicles.
It was highly unlikely that she would be at the level of Landius and Kamael, who had already reached an extra-human level, but her power would still be truly formidable.
“Ugh… If I knew where you are right now, I would run there right away.”
As Cordelia spoke, her shoulders slumping, Uther nodded in agreement.
“Because there are many hidden secrets behind Lena’s death.”
In Heroes Chronicles 2, Lena’s death was depicted as a cinematic movie.
The problem, however, was that the cinematic movies did not appear in accordance with the progression of the main character’s story, but rather appeared out of nowhere at certain times.
‘Because I only know the place and time.’
In fact, the location itself was unclear, but many veterans of Heroes Chronicle 2 had guessed the location based on the backgrounds that appeared in the cinematic movie.
‘Blade Beak Canyon.’
There, Lena dies.
So, get there early and prevent Lena’s death.
“Isn’t Bladebeak Canyon in the northeastern part of the Wild Lands?”
“Oh, it’s close to the Argon Empire.”
Kirara, one of the playable characters from the Wild Lands, left the Wild Lands early in the game and fled to the Argon Empire in the middle of the night, with Bladebeak Canyon along the way.
“Hmm… It’s not that I don’t have much time, but it feels a bit tight.”
“We can only leave the construction of the Eastern Alliance to the Red Storm and the Rough Snowfall. Of course, we can season the eastern tribes we meet on our way to our destination.”
“Not medicine?”
“Either that or that.”
“Huh, conman.”
She stuck her tongue out, but her eyes were smiling. That was understandable, since she had already become adept at playing along with Yuder’s tricks.
‘You’ve fallen, you’ve fallen. You’re not even an archangel yet, and you’re already fallen.’
But somehow, Yuder felt proud.
“Anyway, now that we’re done eating, let’s take a quick shower and go to bed.”
“I want to take a bath, a bath.”
The idea of creating your own hot spring and taking a bath was a bit far-fetched.
So Cordelia washed her face and neck with melted snow water and then lay down.
“Ha, you worked hard today too.”
“Get some rest.”
“Yeah, you too.”
That was it. Cordelia fell into a deep sleep, and Uther gave a wry laugh of admiration before covering the tarpaulin lid.
&
The next morning.
Uther and Cordelia set out early and followed the map given by the rough snowball to the northeast where the Sanctuary of the Fair Snow Wind was located.
Cordelia was unable to tell where she was because the surrounding snowfields were everywhere, but she didn’t hesitate in her steps.
Because the all-purpose Utherwiki was by my side.
“Hey, Yuderwiki, are you going in the right direction?”
“Oh, right.”
From the moment he first left home, Yuder had already taken a compass with him.
While the rough avalanche roamed the wilderness, Uther and Cordelia steadily moved in the right direction.
So another day.
Around noon on the third day, Uther and Cordelia came face to face with the Sanctuary of the Fairy Wind.
&
The Sanctuary of the Beautiful Snow Wind was located within a large basin, but it was actually quite easy to recognize even without the basin.
Just arriving nearby changed the surrounding environment.
“It’s not a snowfield.”
It had been a snow field until just now, but there were areas where there was no snow, as if a line had been drawn. The weather was chilly, but it was still autumn weather.
It was incomparable to other places that were so extreme that they reminded me of Forest Anvil.
‘Is this the power of the wild god?’
Why barbarians can survive in wild lands.
The wide open fields were filled with green grass. It seemed possible to raise livestock and even farm here.
Cordelia, who had been momentarily lost in the sudden change in scenery, suddenly raised her head.
“They are fighting.”
It was just as she said.
As I climbed the short hill, I saw the entrance to a basin across a wide field.
A force that must have numbered in the hundreds was fighting along the walls.
Without saying a word, Uther and Cordelia lowered their postures and assessed the situation on the battlefield.
Those wearing horned helmets were attacking the walls, mingling with the monsters. The attackers’ force was easily three times that of the defenders.
“I won’t be able to last long.”
It was just as Cordelia said. The defense was holding up pretty well, but it was visibly struggling.
If we had arrived just an hour later, we would have already seen the collapsed wall.
But what to do?
Would the two of them charge into hundreds of soldiers?
“I have an idea.”
Uther said, and a smile spread across Cordelia’s face.
&
Madgar, the intermediate-level demon eye mine, looked at the battlefield with cold eyes.
The warriors of the Angry Horn Tribe were launching a fierce attack with the monsters they had summoned from hell.
Thanks to the Spear of Corruption, a secret weapon of Belial that he received from Haragen, Gounnunbaram was unable to use his powers properly.
This is because the spear of corruption stuck in the dragon vein suppressed the sacred power of the gentle snow wind.
Of course, this side was also unable to provide much support to the warriors because they were focusing all their energy on the Spear of Corruption, but it was unnecessary in the first place.
The tribe that served the Fair Snow Wind was small in number. Although each of them was a formidable warrior, the Angry Horn Tribe was the most powerful force of warriors in the entire Wild Lands.
They were strengthened by Belial’s power and their numbers were three times that of the Gounnunbaram tribe, so there was no way to deal with them.
‘It’s just a matter of time.’
You’ve held on well so far, but now it’s over.
After destroying the wall and annihilating the tribe of the Windblown, capture the Wild God.
“Destroy it! Kill it! Destroy it!”
Madga’s words were powerful as he wore the bones of an animal on his head instead of a helmet.
Her body, as a sorcerer, was covered in patterns drawn with colorful paints, and the skull staff she held in her hand vibrated with evil power.
Madga closed his eyes and smiled.
I savored the current situation as if I was tasting a delicacy.
‘Unlike that stupid Jarakul guy.’
The mission to capture the rough avalanche without a single tribe of Mosin has failed.
That guy is like a fool.
But I didn’t hate it.
He’s already dead, and his fiasco gave Mad one more chance to claim credit for himself.
‘The day when I become a high-level mine is not far away.’
The goals of the demon’s eye minions were all the same.
Getting closer to Belial.
Once you become a high-level mine, the path to becoming a high-level demon, Demon Prince, will also open.
Madga smiled as he imagined a future that was still far away but definitely attainable.
And then came the screams of the Angry Horn Tribe.
“Ugh?!”
“Mr. Madga!”
Madgar opened his eyes quickly at the shouts of the warriors in shock. There was no significant change in front.
There were still only precarious walls and bloodied warriors of the Gounnunwind tribe.
But things have changed.
Neither the attacking side nor the defending side were fighting. They all had blank expressions on their faces and were looking in the same direction.
The direction everyone is looking.
Madgar turned around and could see.
“crazy.”
A tidal wave of flames advancing as if it were going to burn the entire field.
A huge, raging wildfire was closing in behind them.
