Chapter 18 – The Great Storm
Although there were two playable characters from the Savage Lands, the games were rarely actually set in the Savage Lands.
The reason was simple: both Red Wind and Kirara’s main activities were not in the Wild Lands.
“The red wind is Sairun, and Kirara is Argon.”
Red Wind, who started out as an escaped slave in the northern region of the Kingdom of Seilun, was active only in the Kingdom of Seilun until the mid-game, when he fought against corrupted barbarians to avenge his father.
“After finishing the tutorial for Kira, which starts in the savage land of the Far East, you will immediately move on to the Argon Empire.”
Because she went to the Argon Empire instead of the Kingdom of Cailun, she was not swept up in the great invasion of the northern barbarians, but since the reason she left her hometown in the first place was to escape, Kirara had no intention of returning.
That’s why there were only two events in Hero Chronicles 2 where the Savage Lands appeared with some significance. One was the ‘Homecoming’ event where the red wind howled over the already ruined hometown, and the other was the ‘Lena’s Death’ event.

“Okay, the tribesmen will tell you the details, such as the location of the sanctuary.”
When Uther and Cordelia said they would take charge of investigating the sanctuary, the Great Storm sighed as if it had let go of its worries.
In fact, it was a great storm that was pushing itself too hard, even though it was not showing any signs of it.
It was difficult for the Great Storm, who was still a young wild god, to unite the spirits of Uther and Cordelia, who were not even tribesmen, and to appear before them.
“Then let’s sort things out here for now. Once the investigation is over, then······.”
“wait a minute!”
Cordelia quickly caught the Great Storm, who was trying to get up from his seat.
Because there are still stories left to tell.
‘yes?’
‘yes.’
Of course, there was never any discussion about what to say when the Great Storm came.
However, Uther and Cordelia had already had many conversations about how to proceed once they arrived in the Wild Lands.
There was still one more important story left to tell.
“Great and mighty storm, there is information we must tell you.”
“What is it?”
Since Yuder was acting so serious, the Great Storm also became curious and sat back down.
Instead of speaking right away, Yuder took a deep breath and continued speaking in a calm tone.
“It’s a story about a disease that the Red Wind has contracted.”
“···Tell me.”
The great storm’s gaze sharpened.
The Great Storm also knew very well that the disease that caused the Red Wind was an unusual and cursed disease.
“Bottle- no, the curse’s name is ‘Blue Pianhua’, and it is a magic that was favored by the followers of Belial, the past overlord of corruption.”
The blue iris was not a curse to kill enemies.
It was a curse that rendered the target helpless, making them easy to corrupt. Those afflicted with the Blue Pianhua became weak both physically and mentally, ultimately becoming unable to do anything.
‘The one who put the curse on is Haraken, a sorcerer and leader of the Demon’s Eye.’
The first to be cursed in the Savage Lands was Sevenhorns, the chieftain of the Angry Horn tribe.
He, who had been the strongest warrior of the Angry Horn Tribe, became extremely weak and like a tree in just a month, and after half a year, he became unable to do anything without the Prophet Haraken.
And in the seventh month, after being sacrificed by Haraken, he ascended into the realm of Belial and was reborn as a complete demon.
“The Blue Pianist’s effects become stronger the closer you are to the curser. Fortunately, the Red Gale is far enough away from the curser that the disease progresses relatively slowly, but you will eventually fall into a state of complete helplessness.”
“Is there no way?”
The Great Storm asked with an anxious face.
To him, who cared for the tribe, the chieftain, Red Whirlwind, was like a son.
“There is only one way to break the curse. You must kill the curser.”
Actually, there was a much simpler solution.
It was a power stronger than Belial’s curse that purified the red gale.
But it was impossible.
The Great Storm was a relatively strong one among the wild gods, but its opponent was Belial, one of the five great lords who ruled over Hell.
The comparison itself was meaningless.
“It’s clear that he was caught while attending the chieftain’s meeting. There must be a criminal among those who attended the meeting!”
As the great storm raged, Uther nodded.
Given the circumstances, it was highly likely that Haraken, who attended the council of chieftains, had placed a curse on the Red Gale, which would become an obstacle to the unification war.
“Great Storm, do not be so angry. I have a way to improve the Red Gale’s condition.”
“Really?”
At Uther’s words, the Great Storm jumped up from his seat and asked.
Uder nodded and took out the sun necklace hidden inside his clothes.
“Those who are afflicted with the Blue Pianhua will be endlessly exposed to the cold air of Hell. Therefore, if you drive away the cold air with your yang energy, you can slow down the progress of the curse and improve your condition.”
The reason the Red Wind came down south in the first place was to save the Sun Flower, which had the power of the extreme sun.
‘The sun flower loses its effectiveness the moment it is pulled out from its blooming place, so it cannot be used to treat illness in the first place.’
Uther had a necklace of the sun.
If it was the divine water of Solari that continuously bestowed yang energy, it would be possible to prevent the curse of Pianhua.
“Ohh… Then I guess I should give that necklace to Red Whirlwind.”
“Yes, I can lend it to you. If you lend it to me.”
If you rent it, it might be okay, but giving it away was absolutely impossible.
Moreover, Yuder had no intention of just handing it over.
‘Because things have changed.’
If it had been before the Great Storm appeared, Yuder would have lent the necklace to save Red Gale for free, but now the Great Storm had appeared.
In that case, shouldn’t we be charging a rental fee?
“The Sun Necklace is an essential item to cure my chronic illness. It is a lifeline to me.”
Great Storm frowned as Uther emphasized the importance of the Sun Necklace.
“Co-morbid condition? You look healthy.”
He is tall and handsome.
At the Great Storm’s question, Uder shook his head and suddenly coughed as he spoke.
“No… cough cough. Even though I look like this, I’m still quite sickly. Aren’t I? Cordelia?”
Cordelia, who came to her senses at Uther’s call, stepped forward and spoke.
“That’s right, our Yuder is so frail. Look at his pale skin. You can see his veins. Until recently, I was carrying him on my back.”
It was true that the skin was transparent and clean, and that she carried it around.
“No, but it seems healthy······.”
“Look at those thin arms. And that thin waist. That’s a total ant waist, an ant waist. What can I do about our poor Yuda······.”
Thanks to hanging out with Uther, Cordelia’s acting skills had improved by leaps and bounds.
Although it was an obvious situation where she was fake crying, the beautiful girl’s crying performance was enough to move the hearts of the viewers.
“Ughh …
“Okay. Then just give me something related to wind.”
“That’s right, even though Yuder is weak, he won’t die right away without the necklace.”
As Uther and Cordelia spoke together, the Great Storm finally admitted that he had no choice but to be a victim of this fraudulent couple’s trickery.
“···Okay, then I will grant you the most powerful divine water I have.”
“thank you.”
“I will use it for good things. Great Storm, you are so cool. You are handsome. You are the best.”
Cordelia was becoming increasingly talkative, but it was true that it was nice to hear.
The Great Storm burst into laughter and summoned an arrow with a blue glow in the air.
“It is an arrow of the wind.”
The entire arrow was pure white, like looking at an ice crystal.
“It can be controlled at the user’s will.”
“As you wish?”
“Yes, you can freely roam the air.”
As if responding to the words of the great storm, the arrows of the winged wind began to fly through the air, and their speed was truly terrifying.
“Wow! Yondu!”
“Yondu?”
At the Great Storm’s question, Cordelia simply smiled and turned to Uther, who spoke with a serious face.
“Uder uses it, so Uder··· Ayat!”
“Dad jokes out!”
Cordelia, who had hit Uther on the back, thanked the Great Storm again.
“Thank you. I will put it to good use.”
“Yes, that would suit you well. It’s good for wizards to have a ranged weapon like this.”
“Yes, that’s right… Oh, wait a minute. Are you giving it to me? Not to Yuder?”
“Oh, are you going to give it to me?”
When I said that as if the Great Storm was a given, Uder was surprised and said,
“Now, wait a minute! The Sun Necklace is for my illness treatment······?”
“So what? I want to give it to her. Do you really think you’re going to steal something I gave to your fiancée?”
“No, that’s not it······.”
No matter how much I tried, I had nothing to say when it came out like this.
And in fact, the Arrow of the Wingwind was a weapon more suited to Cordelia than to Uther.
When Yuder finally gave up and slumped his shoulders, the Great Storm smiled broadly and said.
“When you get to the village, make sure to go to the altar. I will place it there.”
“···All right.”
“Thank you so much!”
The Great Storm, who received the gratitude of Uther and Cordelia, stood up from his seat.
This time, it was time to go back.
But it wasn’t yet.
It was a great storm that still had some corners left to peel off.
“Wait! Wait! There’s still one left!”
“Why again.”
“This is really important.”
“Yes, it is really, really important.”
Cordelia, who had caught the wind without knowing what it was, looked at Uther as if asking what was going on, and Uther started talking to both the Great Storm and Cordelia.
&
“Huh!”
“ha!”
Uther and Cordelia opened their eyes at the same time.
Inside the white igloo.
The Red Wind was still fast asleep, and the morning light was streaming in through the small gap at the entrance.
“ha.”
“Phew.”
After taking a deep breath, Uther and Cordelia rolled up their sleeves as if they had made a promise and checked their sentences.
“It’s true.”
“It wasn’t a dream after all.”
I met the great storm and became his warrior. I also tore off a lot of things.
“Hehehe, it’s gold, it’s gold.”
As Cordelia spoke, stroking her own sentences, Uther’s expression naturally became rotten, and Cordelia’s smile grew deeper.
“Silegi. Ceylon. Deep Sea.”
“Ahem.”
“Pretend not to hear.”
“Silver or gold.”
“Yes, next time, Ceylon will come out.”
It was a fight that couldn’t be won from the start.
Yuder, who had neatly given up, said as he broke a bit of the snow blocking the entrance and checked outside.
“Let’s eat a light breakfast and leave. We have to get to the village by tomorrow night.”
We lost all our luggage while running away, but fortunately we had emergency food with us. If the three of us ate sparingly, it would be enough for two days.
Cordelia nodded at Uther’s words and said while digging into her waistband.
“I want to go quickly. I can’t wait to see what they’ll be selling at the store.”
When you stop by a town, it’s RPG etiquette to first go to the store.
But this time, the good news wasn’t just the anticipation of equipment upgrades.
“It’s free, it’s free.”
What Uther asked of the Great Storm.
“A free pass is required.”
“Free pass?”
“Other words for black card.”
Is it even possible to hand over equipment to a warrior of the Great Storm who fights for the Great Storm in exchange for money?
What about taking money and handing over supplies to warriors who set out on a journey to carry out the will of the Great Storm?
‘Actually, I don’t have any money.’
It was questionable whether the currency of the Kingdom of Seilun would be accepted in the wild lands, but for now, Uther and Cordelia had lost almost all of the money during their escape.
It was not simply a measure to make a living, but a necessary measure.
“A swindler and a rip-off. A vicious man who even rips off gods.”
“So you don’t like it?”
“I love it! A man with strong vitality is the best!”
Because he wasn’t a swindler in someone else’s house, he was a swindler in our house.
“Dad, Dad. You’re so cool. You’re the kind of man of this era who turns a crisis into an opportunity.”
“I would even cheat God for the sake of our princess.”
The two people, laughing and whispering warmly, woke up the red wind and hurried to prepare to leave.
And the next night.
Not long after the sun had set.
The three arrived at the village of the Great Storm Tribe.
