Ending Maker Chapter 58

Chapter 17 – Revelation

The original version of Heroes Chronicle 2 – that is, the first released version – had a total of eleven playable characters.

“The Kingdom of Seilun is four, the Empire of Argon is five, and the Savage Lands are two.”

As expected from the two major powers on the continent, there were many from the Kingdom of Cailun and the Empire of Argon. In the case of the Kingdom of Cailun, there was a characteristic in that the playable characters were mostly from the north.

“The other three, excluding Caesar – that is, Judas, Cordelia, and Lucas, are all from the twelve northern houses.”

Then why is that so?

Since Caesar is from the South, there isn’t a single one in the center. Wouldn’t it have been better to have one each in the North, Center, and South?

“And when the main story was released, everyone was convinced.”

It was because of the ‘Great Invasion of the Northern Barbarians’ event, which had a great impact not only on the Kingdom of Seilun but also on the entire Chronicles of Heroes 2.

It was only natural that since the big event was in the North, there would be a lot of people from the North.

Added to this are playable characters from the Savage Lands, Red Wind and Kirara.

Since they are both barbarians, it was inevitable that they would be connected to the natural northern barbarian invasion event.

“So, in the end, about half of the eleven playable characters, or five, are directly connected to the Great Invasion event.”

The remaining six were also indirectly affected. It was a major incident that shook the entire Kingdom of Cailun, one of the two great powers.

“So if we can destroy this event, we can get closer to the ending we want.”

A world of true happy endings where there is no original existence, no great summoning, no great war between angels and demons.

What is absolutely necessary for that.

The most important keyperson who can render the invasion itself useless.

“Red Gale.”

Father of the Red Wind.

Chieftain of the Great Storm Tribe.

I had to save him.

&

“Hey!”

A few minutes after crossing the border.

Yuder ran like a whirlwind and hid himself in a crevice between the rocks. He raised both his arms high and shouted.

What should I call this feeling?

A sense of liberation?

Feeling alive?

“I think it’s a little crazy.”

As Cordelia, who was sitting on the floor, spoke with her brows furrowed, Yuder laughed heartily as if he were Landius, then turned to Cordelia and spoke.

“Anyway, you kept your promise, right?”

“promise?”

“I told you I would even help you climb over a wall.”

Wall.

Even the great wall built on the border was, broadly speaking, just a wall.

It’s too high and thick for a wall.

“Let’s just stay still, I hugged you, helped you climb over walls, and stood in the line of battle… I want to take care of you, but what if you get sick?”

“No, you can’t.”

Cordelia threw a snowball at Yuder, who was counting on his fingers and speaking seriously. She laughed a few times and tilted her head to the side. She looked up at Yuder and spoke.

“It’s like a beast.”

Running around panting and gasping.

Well, what can I say, if up until now, Yuder just felt nimble, in the battle just now, he was like a real beast. A wild cat that was excited and running wild.

At Cordelia’s words, Uther nodded quietly, then spoke with a serious face.

“Madam, the bride is coming tonight······.”

“Don’t be so brain dead.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Uther, who had quietly given up on the joke, crouched down in front of Cordelia and continued speaking.

“But you’re really full of energy. You feel like you’re constantly surging with energy?”

“Are you receiving the sun flower red properly?”

“I think so. Just like Kamael said, even the Heavenly Emperor has finally opened his eyes.”

If you think about it, it seems only natural that they grow to this extent since they ate a flower that blooms only once every 20 years, and that too in extreme climates.

And the heavenly body.

Usually, people who are born with genius have a hard time realizing their genius because everything they do seems so natural, but that wasn’t the case for Yuder.

It was possible to self-objectify because of memories from a previous life, but as Kamael pointed out, the previous Heavenly Body was no different from a fake compared to the current Heavenly Body.

“It may sound unlucky, but I can feel it. Yuder is a true genius.”

“I’m really unlucky.”

But there was a bright smile on Cordelia’s face.

Because whether he was a fraud, a genius, or a beast, he was our family’s Yuder.

“Could the awakening of Uder, which was scheduled for the last expansion pack of Part 3, be the awakening of the Heavenly Warriors?”

“That might have been the case. The original Yuder couldn’t even eat the Sunflower or meet Kamael.”

But the current Uder is different.

I ate the sun flower, met Landius and learned the Nine Heavens Gate. I also met Kamael and resolved the distortion.

‘And there’s even yin-yang delay.’

What would happen if you could handle extreme and extreme powers at the same time? What level would you reach?

‘Extreme Kamael and Extreme Landius.’

Since I already had a connection with both of them, I had already set up the basic flags.

“Hoohoohoohoo··· Hohoohoohoohoo······.”

“You seem like a pervert.”

Despite Cordelia’s comment, Uther didn’t stop laughing. If he didn’t rejoice at the prospect of a path to the strongest, a path that didn’t exist before, how could it be rotten water?

“Anyway, this isn’t a complete awakening, right?”

“Oh, that makes it more exciting.”

Because it meant that he would awaken as an even greater genius in the future.

“The Story of the Heavenly and Terrible Body.”

“Hehehe, and if you return to your ancestors, you’ll be a total idiot. And turning into a witch is the same.”

Should I say it’s an exquisite balance?

Cordelia wasn’t born with any special talents like Yuder or Lucas.

It wasn’t like he had a special constitution like Caesar.

But Cordelia had acquired witchcraft and ancestral ancestry.

‘Lucas can also regress to his ancestors, but he is different from Cordelia.’

Because Cordelia had the ability to become a witch, which was derived from the power of the devil.

If Uder was a yin-yang being who could handle both extremes, Cordelia was able to transform into a being who could handle both the power of an angel and the power of a devil.

“I want to see the Archangel mode soon. He’s really strong like a monster.”

“It’s mine, so why do you want to see it?”

“Because Madam is the monster in our house?”

Cordelia was amused by Uther’s claim, but soon she smiled broadly. This was because Cordelia herself was looking forward to what she would become after returning to her ancestors.

“I want to do it quickly.”

“Let’s work hard to gather materials and make it happen much sooner than the original.”

“Yes, Dad. I only trust you.”

Uther and Cordelia looked at each other and laughed harmoniously, and after a while they finally realized that there was one more person in the room.

“Kuuuk··· Ugh··· Waeeeek!”

Over there in the corner.

Red Wind, who had been lying face down and panting since Uder let him go, finally couldn’t hold it in any longer and vomited.

It wasn’t that I found Uther and Cordelia’s love affair(?) disgusting, it was a side effect of the doping drug I made in the yard.

“Red Wind! Are you okay?”

“Haaak··· Ugh··· It hurts. It stings. It’s painful.”

The red wind that had once poured out its heart spoke with a crying face. It was truly pitiful to see tears and a runny nose running down its face.

“Sorry, sorry. But we’re all here now, so it’s okay. Let’s rest here and then go.”

Cordelia spoke while holding the Red Wind, and Uther quickly cleared away the Red Wind’s debris and looked around to find a better place to rest.

And right after that.

The red wind that was in Cordelia’s arms suddenly started to cry. It wasn’t tears shed because of hardship like before.

“Red Wind?”

“It’s different. It’s too different.”

“huh?”

“Two people. Different. Too strong. Much stronger than me.”

However, Red Wind was confident in his own strength.

At least, he believed that there were few people stronger than him among his peers.

But that wasn’t the case.

Uther and Cordelia were on a different level from Red Wind himself. Although they were a year older, it didn’t feel like the gap was narrowing to just a year.

A frog in a well.

With such meager skills, he went down to the South alone to cure his father’s illness, so it was only natural that he would be captured and made a slave.

How pitiful must the Great Storm have been to choose outsiders like Uther and Cordelia?

Leaving aside herself as a member of the tribe and the daughter of the chieftain.

“Ugh··· Ugh······.”

The sudden surge of sadness, self-reproach, and disappointment in myself made me shed uncontrollable tears.

Red Wind started to cry loudly, and Cordelia looked back at Yuder with an embarrassed face.

‘Do something about it!’

It was a tall order, but like most men who are asked to come up with a solution, Uder was troubled.

And that concern, as is often the case with men, was slightly off-kilter.

‘First of all, it’s not that great.’

The reason the Red Wind cries is, to put it bluntly, because it is weak.

But there was no way to do this.

Strictly speaking, Red Wind hadn’t even started his own scenario yet.

In a word, it’s a mess.

It is in its purest state, having not yet gone through any special events or power-up events.

It wasn’t like I could take it around and help it level up – the so-called awesome things.

‘Because it’s just Cordelia and me.’

This was something I discovered after experimenting with it several times while hanging out with Lucas.

First of all, only Uther and Cordelia could see each other’s level up effects.

Even when hunting together, only Uther and Cordelia gained experience as a party.

‘It seems like we also get experience points when we defeat strong enemies… but Cordelia and I are the only ones in the party.’

In a world where there is no menu for applying for a party, it is impossible to properly share experience points with anyone other than Uther and Cordelia, who were already in a party from the beginning.

‘I’m a bit curious as to why only the two of us were at the party from the beginning.’

It seemed like there had to be some cause.

It could be because we share memories from a past life, or maybe we are truly connected by a red thread of fate.

“Ahem.”

Uther, who had let out a cough without realizing it, looked at Cordelia, and Cordelia spoke again with her eyes.

‘I told you to try anything!’

“hmm.”

Uder began to worry again.

What should I do?

Since I couldn’t use the most obvious solution of quick leveling, I ended up having to choose a second option.

“Red Wind, it’s okay. You too will get stronger quickly soon.”

At Yuder’s words, the Red Wind raised its head even while crying.

Since I was crying over being weak, it was natural for me to react to being told that I would become stronger.

Uder crouched down in front of the red wind and continued speaking while stroking her head.

“The Great Storm said so. Red Wind was born with the qualities of a great warrior. He was the one who would become the most powerful spirit warrior in the Great Storm Tribe.”

“···Really? The Great Storm said so?”

When the red wind asked with a whimper, Yuder nodded.

“Really, I’m not the only one who heard this. Cordelia heard it too?”

“Huh? Yeah! I heard that too. You definitely said that.”

If you go by the original route, Red Wind becomes a powerful spirit warrior.

Furthermore, the Great Storm Tribe was destined to be destroyed during the great invasion of the Northern Barbarians, so Red Wind had no choice but to become the tribe’s greatest warrior, whether he liked it or not.

“The great storm······.”

The Red Storm’s tears subsided. A small smile appeared.

“The Great Storm is also looking forward to the growth of the Red Wind.”

“Yeah, yeah, please look forward to it. I guess you really cherish the Red Wind.”

As Uther and Cordelia talked back and forth, the smile on Red Wind’s face grew bigger and bigger.

Although Red Wind had become cynical later on due to having experienced so many hardships, this was before the start of the original work. Furthermore, since he had escaped from the slave market before he had even suffered, he was still pure and innocent.

“Okay. I’ll work hard. I’ll get stronger. I’ll live up to the expectations of the Great Storm.”

“Yeah, we’ll look forward to it too.”

As Cordelia hugged Red Wind tightly, Red Wind hesitated for a moment and then hugged Cordelia back.

‘It’s warm, it’s warm.’

It was when Yuder was so satisfied.

‘Hey, but is this okay?’

Cordelia asked with her eyes, and Uther asked with his eyes in return.

‘what?’

‘No, can you just impersonate me like this?’

‘It’ll work out.’

Surely the Great Storm would say something about this.

Moreover, the Great Storm – no, the Wild Gods themselves – were unclear as to whether they even existed.

In the game, the wild gods were only mentioned by name as objects of worship for the barbarians, and not a single one actually appeared.

‘And you already hit it.’

Because from the time they first met the Red Wind, it was Uther and Cordelia who had been diligently selling the name of the Great Storm.

‘Hmm, that’s true.’

Convinced, Cordelia focused on the Red Wind again, while Uther stood up and looked south again.

‘Kamael would have gotten out of there on his own.’

It wasn’t for nothing that he was one of the four major prosecutors.

And honestly, among the four great swordsmen, Yuder thought Kamael was the strongest.

Perhaps the clones alone could have defeated Soluzia.

‘We just have to do well.’

Although the Northern Barbarian Invasion event was an important event in the entire Heroes Chronicles series, the circumstances surrounding it were not completely revealed.

What is directly revealed in the game is the Great Invasion, not the barbarian unification war of the Angry Horn Tribe that preceded the Great Invasion.

Because of this, information was limited.

Not much was known about the Wild Lands.

‘But you can do it.’

No, I have to do it.

Yuder, with his mind set, looked north.

&

“I think I know where this is. Just two more days and we’ll be at our tribe’s land.”

Just after the sun sets.

Inside the igloo, which was created through the design and technology of Uther and the magic of Cordelia, the red wind spoke in a small voice.

Since they had thrown away all their luggage while running away, they didn’t even have a sleeping bag, but Red Wind was a local with Winter Elf blood, and Uther and Cordelia had the blessing of winter.

Add to this the warmth and magic of the stones heated up by each other, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that there was no danger of freezing to death.

“Okay, okay. You worked hard today, so let’s go to bed early.”

“Okay. Cordelia, sleep well too. And you too, Yuder.”

This time, the red wind spoke softly and closed its eyes as it lay down next to Cordelia.

“Good night.”

“Like a baby.”

As soon as she closed her eyes, Cordelia kissed the sleeping Red Wind on the forehead and then looked at Uther and said.

“Let’s go to sleep too. There’s no need to set up a night watch, right?”

“Because there’s an alarm magic circle.”

Even in Frost Anvil, there were two people who were able to avoid the hell of the night watch of the Pagans thanks to the alarm magic circle.

After blocking most of the entrance, Uder lay down and spoke for the first time in a long while.

“Sleep well, I’m dreaming.”

“Yeah, you dream of me too.”

“You have to have dirty dreams.”

“Shit.”

Cordelia smiled and raised her middle finger, kissed Red Wind’s forehead once more, and closed her eyes.

And then a few seconds, a few minutes.

Uther also fell into a deep sleep.

&

The surrounding area was completely white.

White night.

White snow field.

Yuder, who had been walking blankly, suddenly realized something.

“It’s a dream.”

Now that I’ve realized it, maybe this is a lucid dream.

Uther looked around again.

When I came to my senses, I was in a state of total chaos, wondering if anyone had thought it was a dream.

The sun and moon were hanging together in the sky, and countless fish were swimming in the air above the snowy field as if it were the bottom of the sea.

And then Cordelia came out.

“uh.”

Standing among the swimming fish, floundering, her eyes wide open, it was just like her usual Cordelia.

“Ah! It’s Yuder!”

Cordelia in my dream looked this way and came running towards me with a very happy expression on her face.

And Uther thought seriously.

“What should I do? Since it has come to this, should I really have a dirty dream?”

“Hey! Can you hear everything?!”

Cordelia’s low kick struck, and Uther thought.

“Cordelia, you are so violent even in your dreams.”

“It hasn’t hit me yet.”

Cordelia slapped Uther on the back again, and Uther realized.

“sick?”

“I hit you because it hurt, so it should hurt! It should hurt more! It should hurt more!”

It really hurt, that’s why Yuder realized.

“It’s not a dream.”

At least it wasn’t an ordinary dream. The Cordelia in front of him wasn’t a fake created by Uther’s own dream.

“What happened?”

Are our dreams connected?

Did you come to your senses?

At Uther’s question, Cordelia also stopped hitting and spoke seriously.

“I don’t know. I was just sleeping soundly, and when I opened my eyes, I was here. I saw you and came running.”

Uther looked back and forth between himself and Cordelia.

Now that I looked at them, their clothes were different from usual. They were wearing the fancy uniforms and dresses they had worn when they were staying at their respective families.

“dream.”

This is not reality.

It is a mental space.

The spirits of Uther himself and Cordelia were connected.

why.

Why.

And who.

It was at that very moment. Cordelia suddenly raised her head. Far beyond, in the void.

The wind blew.

A small, weak wind.

But it can grow and become a storm at any time.

A boy appeared.

A boy with white hair who has the wind blowing all over his body.

The boy, whose golden eyes were as impressive as shining stars, looked down at Uther and Cordelia. He squinted his eyes and then spoke with a mischievous smile.

“You’ve been selling my name well.”

A child’s voice.

But it has a strong presence that shakes the entire surrounding area.

God-like majesty.

“no way?”

Uther spoke, and Cordelia nodded. Her senses were screaming fiercely.

Wild god.

A being that has not lost its power, as the Great Storm Tribe is still alive and well, and the power of Belial, the Overlord of Corruption, has not yet engulfed the Savage Lands.

“It is good to meet you, children of the South. I am the Great Storm.”

A wild god beyond the northern border.

He settled on the ground.

He approached Uther and Cordelia.
