< Chapter 7 - Full Moon #2 >

The Heroes Chronicles series was structured to increase in scale with each installment.
There are a total of five playable characters in Part 1.
The story’s setting was also limited to a small country located between the Kingdom of Cailun and the Empire of Argon.
‘The queen of the Paragon Kingdom, brainwashed by demon followers, sacrifices the prince to summon the demon······.’
The summoned demon – Demon Prince Bykazel, kills the king and turns the entire palace into a den of demons.
The first part of Heroes’ Chronicles was about becoming one of the five main characters and defeating Bykazel, who had taken over the Paragon Kingdom.
“The second part is a story that takes place in the Kingdom of Cailun and the Argon Empire······.”
“The third part is a story about a showdown between both demons and angels in a world devastated by Armageddon.”
Inside the rattling carriage.
Inside the two carriages heading to the Northern Viscounty, Uther and Cordelia were lying side by side on makeshift beds.
Of course, they weren’t lying in the same bed, and there was a low partition between them.
It was a carriage that Lucas had hastily prepared for the two people who had gathered in the Witch’s Forest.
“Landius of the Red Flame.”
“One of the five main characters of Part 1. He is a de facto pearl-man, along with the swordsman Kamael. A warrior of the sun who crushes his enemies with overwhelming physical strength. He is the son of the commander of the Paragon Kingdom’s knights, and after defeating Bykazel, he wanders the continent in search of the demon followers who were the cause of all this.”
“Good job, Yuderwiki.”
As Cordelia clapped her hands, Uder, who felt embarrassed for some reason, continued speaking.
“First of all, in the original, depending on who you play as, the hero who defeated Bykazel changes… but if everything is as it is, it was Landius and Kamael who defeated Bykazel.”
“Search for Kamael, enter.”
Cordelia spoke, pretending to type in the air, and Uther narrowed his eyes but soon opened his mouth again to speak.
“Kamael the Swordsman. The illegitimate son of the Paragon King who was murdered by Bykazel. He is the only character from the first game who survived and is active in the second game.”
Perhaps because it would be difficult for new protagonists to emerge if the already strong protagonists of Part 1 were to take an active role in Part 2, most of the five protagonists from Part 1 met miserable ends in Part 2.
“Uh… Landius was killed by Mine?”
“Oh, it’s a story that only exists in the setting and doesn’t actually occur… but he was killed by the Devil’s Hand’s top executive, Mind Duke.”
In fact, the circumstances surrounding this were not completely revealed.
This was something that users had guessed because Mind Duke was carrying Landius’ sword, the ‘Solar Blade’.
“Anyway, he’s not dead yet?”
“Yeah, that’s the important thing.”
Landius isn’t dead yet.
In fact, if it were the original story, there would have been no reason for either Uther or Cordelia to meet Landius.
But the current situation was created when the two men foiled the Devil’s Hand’s kidnapping plot.
Lucas was not kidnapped, and Count Hresvelg asked Landius, who had a connection with them, to take Lucas away.
Thus, the meeting between the main characters of Parts 1 and 2, who were originally not supposed to meet, was about to take place.
“Can we… save them?”
Cordelia raised her upper body and turned towards Uther, asking with expectant eyes.
Save Landius.
Among the main characters in the first part, he is the strongest in terms of physical strength, and his death is prevented, allowing him to play an active role in the second part.
“You can save it. No, you have to save it.”
Because Uther and Cordelia’s goal was to create the ultimate happy ending.
The mere fact that someone as strong as Landius was still alive could be a disaster for the demon followers.
So I had to save it.
With this encounter, I had to somehow create a survival route for Landius.
“I’m excited.”
Cordelia spoke softly, then fell back down on her bed and smiled brightly.
“I wanted to save Landius.”
“Do you like it?”
“Yeah, he’s my second favorite among the main characters in Part 1.”
“What’s your favorite thing? Lena?”
“Yeah, Lena.”
The only female among the five main characters in Part 1, the magician girl.
She, the apprentice of the royal wizard of the Paragon Kingdom, also met a miserable end in Part 2.
“Can Lena be saved too?”
“We have to save her. Lena is a person whose death date and place are relatively clear.”
It’s because he hasn’t told Cordelia specifically yet, but from the beginning, a scenario to save Lena was roughly planned in Uther’s head.
‘There’s so much to do in the North.’
Sunflower event to completely cure the nine-syllable vein.
Completely stopping the ‘Northern Barbarian Raid’, the main scenario of Uther.
The rescue of Lena, one of the main characters of Part 1.
And at this moment, a new mission called ‘Saving Landius’ has been added.
“Landius is strong, so if you just tell him Duke’s weakness, his chances of survival will definitely increase.”
“That would be highly likely.”
Uther nodded in response and looked at Cordelia without saying anything, and Cordelia tilted her head.
“why?”
“No, I think it’s a big difference from when I first met Lucas.”
“Well, Landius is cool.”
“Isn’t Lucas cool?”
“Um… what should I say about him? He’s kind of cute, isn’t he?”
“But I guess you don’t hate it anymore.”
“Because you’re cute.”
Should I say it’s like a puppy?
Uther smiled bitterly at Cordelia’s assessment and turned his gaze back to the ceiling.
But this time Cordelia sat up again, tilted her head towards Uther, and opened her mouth.
“Hey, by the way, Yuder.”
“why?”
“Can I ask you one thing?”
When Cordelia tried to flirt a little, Uder flinched and asked, pulling away without realizing it.
“What is it? What are you trying to ask me?”
“No, it’s not like… it’s nothing special….”
Cordelia, her voice slightly clouded, continued speaking, leaning against the partition.
“Hey, you.”
“Uh, me, what.”
“So… uh… um… hey! Hey, what were you doing?”
“uh?”
“What did you do? You’re an outboxer, right? You’re not a real boxer, are you?”
Cordelia, who had been wondering what to say, asked as if she had no idea what to say.
“Why my job all of a sudden?”
“Well, that’s strange. No, I’m curious.”
Cordelia sat up straight and continued to speak, counting on her fingers.
“First of all, your memory is incredibly good.”
“You’re not a bad person?”
“Hey, stop a hundred people passing by and ask them. Are you normal or am I normal?”
Cordelia continued to laugh and count her fingers.
“They say the soil has changed while walking, but paranoia can only go so far. Who checks the soil when entering the forest and notices that the soil composition has changed while walking?”
“It’s here.”
“Are you going to keep interrupting me?”
“Yeah, yeah. Anyway, and what else?”
“From the audacious idea of committing fraud, to the incredible forgery skills, to the skillful lying that is told without even a hint of saliva on the lips. No matter how you look at it, it is not normal.”
Cordelia nodded as if intoxicated by her own words, then looked straight into Uther’s eyes again and spoke.
“It’s a past life anyway. So it’s okay. I understand everything. You’re a conman, right? Yes?”
“No? He was a model citizen who paid his taxes regularly, even his local taxes, national pension, and health insurance premiums.”
“Local tax? Health insurance?”
“Why? You didn’t pay? You are the one······.”
“Oh, no? I know that too? No, I paid it too?”
Cordelia answered flusteredly, clenched her fists, and banged on the partition as she spoke.
“Anyway! What if you weren’t a scammer? Okay? Tell me. Okay?”
“Where did this come from?”
“Ah.”
“Ow, shit.”
Uther, who had been cursing without realizing it, flinched and stepped back, and Cordelia brought her face closer to Uther.
And without realizing it, Yuder broke out in a cold sweat.
Because Cordelia was a peerless beauty.
Her charm had a destructive power beyond imagination.
“Phew, I guess there’s nothing I can do.”
“Wow! Are you telling me?”
“I am······.”
“you?”
“I used to be a spy. “Until….”
Cordelia opened her eyes wide at the sudden English, but soon asked back in surprise.
“Spy? A spy?!”
Uther didn’t answer and just looked at Cordelia, and Cordelia nodded with an exclamation of “Ah!”
‘There is a possibility!’
The main character in a spy drama I saw before was like that too.
Excellent acting skills to maintain a fake identity.
Forgery skills honed to forge various documents.
Excellent memory, concentration, observation skills, etc.
“Oh, oh, oh.”
When Cordelia’s eyes lit up after realizing it, Uder chuckled.
“What about spies? Hey, no. That’s not it, so don’t have any weird fantasies.”
“Fuck! Then what the hell was it?”
“What were you doing then?”
“huh?”
“You. What were you? Isn’t it give and take? If you tell me first, I’ll tell you too.”
“It’s fatal.”
“Hey, isn’t it fatal to just ask me to tell you?”
“Tch.”
Logically, what Uther said was right, but Cordelia didn’t want to reveal anything about herself.
‘Maybe I should call you oppa!’
I don’t know what Yuder’s job is, but he seemed like an older man.
We don’t know each other now, and since we’re reincarnated and the same age, we can just let it go, but if it were made explicit out loud, it would feel strange.
Cordelia pouted her lips and said as she lay back down.
“You know, can you tell me just one thing?”
“You can’t just ask me to tell you about one job.”
“Not that. Your memory.”
“My memory?”
“Yeah, your memory. It’s just ridiculous. Just teach me that. What happened?”
When Cordelia asked again, peeking her face out from above the partition, Uther narrowed his brows slightly and nodded.
“Okay, I’ll teach you that.”
“Oh, so there was some kind of secret?”
Cordelia leaned back over the partition, seemingly excited.
Uther spoke, leaning to the side and flinching at the sight of Cordelia’s hair falling over his head.
“There are two things.”
“which?”
“First of all, I’m smart.”
“Fuck.”
What kind of secret is that?
Cordelia reflexively swore – no, exclaimed – but she did not deny it.
It was already known during his time as an outboxer that Yuder was smart.
“And… do you know about the palace of memories?”
“Memory Palace? Oh… Oh! I know that. That’s what Sherlock uses, right?”
“That’s right, it’s a memory method that has been passed down since ancient Greece.”
Palace of memories.
This is a method of memory that involves storing memories in a virtual space conceived in one’s mind and then moving to that location to review the memories whenever necessary. It was developed in ancient times when recording methods were not very advanced.
It is said that ancient Greek philosophers memorized entire speeches or the contents of books through their memory palaces. At first glance, this may seem like a superpower, but it was actually a skill that ordinary people could acquire through training.
“Of course, there are individual differences, and I am a somewhat special case, but for now, I am using the memory palace.”
“Wow… So you also have a library in your head like in Sherlock?”
“Similar. Mine has a more antique feel though.”
“amazing.”
Cordelia looked at Uther with pure admiration, and Uther, who was somehow embarrassed, coughed in vain.
“Would you like me to teach you too?”
“Really? Can I do it too?”
“It does require repetitive learning, though. And Cordelia is smart, right?”
“Of course… Hey, Yellow Storm is smart too, right?”
“I guess so.”
It was then that Yuder smiled faintly.
“Huh?!”
At that moment, the carriage jerked violently, and Cordelia, who was leaning out over the partition, lost her balance and fell towards Uther.
“Ugh. Hey, are you okay?”
“Uh, yeah.”
It was when Cordelia, who had suddenly buried her head in Uther’s chest, groaned and answered.
“Are you both okay… um, you’re okay. Have a good time.”
Lucas, who had opened the carriage door in a hurry, stepped back with a red face, and instead of losing his temper, Uther and Cordelia sighed.
“What should I say, is there always a scene like this in novels or comics?”
“I know.”
The two of them settled back into their respective beds, and the carriage continued to rattle.
About an hour like that.
The carriage arrived at the Northern Viscount’s house.
