Chapter 44 – Guardian of the Wild
The morning dawned.
The sun rose and the Eastern Army began to advance.
The Western Army – no, the demon hordes that could no longer be called the Western Army – soon noticed the Eastern Army’s approach.
“Are you coming after all?”
The old man with the long white beard was no more.
Haragen, who had fully revealed his true form, stroked his chin with his insect-like, split hand.
“Though they are lowly, they are still called gods.”
Even if you don’t know much about the Gates of Hell, you must have felt something.
“It is truly exquisite.”
The point at which the attack occurred.
As if he knew that if not now, there would be no more chances.
Haragen, who let out a hearty laugh, didn’t show any further reaction.
The Angry Horn Tribe, which had fallen and become a monster, was still under his control, but that was it.
The demons and beasts surrounding the gates of hell did not listen to his orders, and Haragen had no intention of giving them any orders.
‘We will all serve the same person.’
Demon Prince.
A true great demon with great power among the titled demons.
Haragen simply looked east.
I smelled the wind blowing and anticipated the fight that was about to begin, the horror, fear, and bloodshed that would blossom amidst the killing and slaughter of one another.
&
The great storm looked far away.
Many things were reflected in his blue eyes.
The Gates of Hell have now become so large that they are nearly 30 meters tall.
And surrounding that door were thousands – perhaps even thousands – of monsters.
Just looking at it made me break out in a cold sweat.
As I watched the purple hellish aura leaking out of the door, the monsters strutting through the dead land, and the demons glaring in my direction as they noticed the gaze of the Great Storm, I couldn’t tell if this was a wild land or hell.
The Great Storm forced a laugh.
I looked at the gates of hell, suppressing all the emotions that seemed like they would explode at any moment.
‘That’s true.’
It was just as Lena said.
An absurdly powerful being was approaching.
I could see him coming straight at me through the purple aura of hell.
‘If you can’t close it.’
If that being were to set foot on the ground.
There will be no more wild lands.
This land will become part of hell, filled with nothing but death and despair.
The great storm closed its eyes.
It blocked the gates of hell from my sight, as if just looking at them would make me sink into a place I couldn’t escape from.
And I heard.
The voice of the Eastern Army.
What they pray for.
Those who seek God so as not to despair at the disaster before their eyes and to gain the courage to fight back somehow.
The carriage wheels rolled.
We’re getting closer to the gates of hell.
The moment of what may be the last fight has arrived.
The Great Storm slowly opened its eyes.
And without realizing it, I put the name of the song of the blade into my mouth.
Could this also be a kind of prayer?
Is it about trusting and relying on someone to give you the strength to fight?
‘Then give me your strength.’
At least, don’t despair,
As a wild god who leads and cares for the tribe, so that he can fight to the end.
The wind blew.
The great storm smiled at the sharp, passing sound.
Because I felt like I had heard the answer to the song of the blade.
‘Okay, leave it to me.’
The gentle snow wind, the wild children.
The great storm was no longer feared.
The wagon wheels have rolled, and the time for battle has arrived.
&
The red gale caressed the sun’s necklace.
After offering a vague prayer to the sacred water of Solari that was blocking the progress of the curse, I raised my head and looked straight ahead, down the hill.
Snow Flower Wind Plain.
A beautiful snowy field covered in white snow.
There was nothing more.
All the snow had melted away, and the ground was dyed purple.
The land was covered with vicious monsters, and the sky was filled with winged demons.
And the gates of hell.
It was only a few hundred meters away from where I was standing, but I had to overcome thousands of demons and beasts to reach it.
The red gale held its breath.
The air was murky, polluted with arsenic.
But that only lasted a moment.
A fresh breeze blew, pushing away the polluted air.
It was a gentle breeze.
So Red Gust took another breath, inhaling deep into his lungs and exhaling while listening.
A large army of nearly 40,000 people.
They were gathered together, holding their breath.
40,000 thoughts, 40,000 feelings.
Red Whirlwind looked straight ahead. The back of the Nine Blades appeared like an illusion.
He sacrificed his life for this day.
He fought to protect himself even though he knew he would die.
And today.
Himself and the 40,000 or so troops gathered here.
‘It’s the same in the end.’
Today’s fight too.
Going out hunting and fighting wild beasts to secure food for tomorrow.
To prepare for tomorrow.
To protect.
To continue the flow of life.
‘The review was long.’
What are you thinking about when a fight is imminent?
But thanks to that, my mind has calmed down.
That is why Red Whirlwind was able to calmly command the monsters that had begun to advance.
“Ring the bell.”
The battle has begun.
The flag went up. Hundreds of drums rang out simultaneously.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The monsters charged towards the hill.
The Eastern Army on the hill raised their shields and raised their spears.
And then at some point.
The storm came.
&
‘It’s not a charge. It’s a defense for now.’
The red gale horse.
The Great Storm raised both arms high.
His blue eyes shone and he displayed his power as a wild god.
The Great Storm.
A history that lives up to its name.
The wind blew.
Small winds gathered and combined to become big winds, and they became stronger and stronger until they became gales. Then they grew again and became a storm that shook the sky and the earth.
Kwagagang-!
Lightning struck from the sky.
Dark clouds continued to appear.
A torrential downpour of rain fell from the sky.
The wild god was not one.
Behind the great storm stood the wild gods, including the beautiful snow wind.
The gentle breeze added frost to the wind.
Heavy dark clouds brought rain and lightning, strengthening the storm’s power.
“good.”
The Great Storm’s body rose into the air. His eyes glowed and blue sparks shot through his entire body.
And then the storm blew in.
He headed straight towards the gates of hell, devouring everything in his path.
Quagagagaga-!
Lightning and strong winds.
A blizzard as sharp as a blade.
The Eastern Army cheered at the miracle that had occurred before their eyes. At the same time, the monsters that had bypassed the storm reached the hill.
“Land!”
Heavy footsteps clapped heavily on the ground.
Although he was originally a rhinoceros, he was huge even in human form.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
I wasn’t alone.
The wild boar god, the wonderful fang, helped out, and other wild gods also stepped onto the ground.
It was an earthquake that caused it.
The ground split open in a straight line along the hill, and soon the fissure spread towards the gates of hell.
Kwagagagagaga-!
The rushing monsters fell into the crack.
The uplifted land became a castle wall.
Storms and earthquakes.
A disaster brought about by the wild gods.
And the Red Wind raised its hand. Finally, it gave an order.
“Shoot!”
Dozens of flags rose simultaneously. The Eastern Army, positioned behind the raised walls, obeyed the order.
The red wind shot an arrow.
The Sun Song sitting next to him threw his spear, and more than ten thousand arrows and javelins filled the sky.
Over and over …
A rain of arrows poured down where the storm had passed. Blood from the spears fell like a shower, covering the heads of the demons and devils.
“Keeak! Knock!”
The monsters that had been running across the cracks fell down. There was no way to avoid the rain of arrows that covered the swamp.
But it wasn’t enough.
Only a few fell down. Most of the monsters ignored the arrows. The demons stirred up winds as if it was funny and distorted the arrows’ trajectories, and some even countered the attacks with fire and lightning.
“Raise your shield!”
The red gale shouted again.
With a roar, the shield bearers stepped forward. They climbed over the raised wall and began to engage the monsters pouring down from the sky.
“Wow!”
There was a mix of shouts and screams.
A wolf-like creature that leaped over a wall was stabbed to death by several spears, and two warriors of the Great Storm Tribe had their throats torn by greatswords wielded by demons that rained down from the sky.
“Khuuuung!”
Some of the wild gods revealed their true nature. Giant wolves and tigers rushed into the battlefield, tearing at the demons, and the great storm burst into rage at the sight that came into view.
A demon wearing a black wolf skin.
It’s clearly the one from the Blade Song.
“Storm!”
A great storm called forth a storm that was reaching the gates of Hell.
He spun it around again and struck the back of the monsters that were knocking out the Eastern Army.
Abigail’s return.
The walls are collapsing and the ranks are dying.
Falling, howling monsters and demons being dragged to the ground and crushed.
In the midst of such a violent scene, Gounnunbaram trembled. But he glared with his eyes wide open.
The gates of hell.
The sky is located much higher than that.
“That’s enough.”
The fight got bigger.
There are a sufficient number of monsters and demons attacking the Eastern Army.
So now.
Right this moment.
sky.
Very high up.
A place so high that it cannot even be properly identified from the ground.
The wooden board was flying.
There were three people riding on it.
Uther looked at the ground and had thoughts like a gentle snow wind.
It was right now.
“Release the shield?”
“Wait a minute, let me prepare myself mentally for the last time.”
Just in case, let’s look at some good things.
Uther stared intently at Cordelia’s face, and Cordelia tilted her head. She touched her face to see if she had noticed something.
So Uder laughed.
Lena smiled too.
But only for a moment.
Uther took another breath. He winked at Cordelia, who nodded and released her shield after caressing her cheeks with both hands.
Kwagagagagaga-!
A crazy wind blew.
It was natural, since it was so high up.
How high will it be?
I climbed as high as I could to avoid being detected by the demons.
‘Can you really do it?’
‘Oh, maybe.’
It’s not like I’ve never jumped from a high altitude before.
Of course, it was my first time doing it without a parachute.
‘It’s my plan, but it sounds crazy.’
But I could do it.
No, I had to.
‘let’s go.’
After saying those short words, Yuder jumped down from the wooden board.
One after another, Cordelia and Lena threw themselves toward the ground.
Kwagagagagaga-!
The speed increased. Uther himself became a blade tearing through the atmosphere.
And Uther could see.
The sights of the earth.
The gates of hell are getting closer and closer, and the winged demons are covering the sky.
“The nine heavens and the nine earthly gates.”
Nine heavens and nine gates.
A single path connecting nine worlds.
Uder closed his eyes. He summoned the black dragon’s energy with the nine heavenly gates.
He released all four dragons at once, allowing them to be used freely.
“Kurararararararara-!”
The dragons roared and surrounded Uther.
A golden whirlwind blew, and the four black dragons became one, forming a huge jet-black aura.
“Kakak!”
“Craa!”
The demons in the sky noticed.
I looked up at the sky.
And Uther saw them.
It came crashing down on them like a dive bomber in World War II.
“Cry, black dragons!”
That roar shakes heaven and earth!
Black dragon!
The black dragon shook.
The giant dragon’s energy engulfed the demons, shaking and opening up a path.
‘Embarrassing!’
What the heck is that!
The visuals were cool, but the aura of the black dragon moving through the demons was explosively cool.
‘Why are you crying? Are you a baby?’
Cordelia, her face flushed, spread her wings of light.
I wondered if Lena had heard it and how she would react if she had, but I didn’t bother looking back.
And Lena took Cordelia’s hand. They walked together along the path that Uther had made, and looked at the gates of hell.
“Stop it!”
Haragen shouted from the ground.
Not only that, but many demons shouted and winged creatures flew up at once.
There were quite a few.
The Eastern Army attracted their attention, but hundreds of demons and beasts still swarmed in.
Even with the black dragon energy created by Uder, it was impossible to deal with them all.
So Lena spread her wings and grabbed the Heavenly Judgement together with Cordelia.
Kwaha-!
reversal.
Cordelia and Lena, who had been flying as if they were falling, soared. They spread their wings of light and raised high the heavenly judgment they had been holding.
Demons of the earth.
A crowd of hundreds.
I’ve seen them all.
Cordelia swung her sword at those that had even the aura of the Black Dragon buried inside them. Lena cast a spell.
Calling is light.
Heavenly energy.
Has the time of divine punishment come at this very moment?
Judgment Day!
Pahaa-!
The heavens opened.
That was the only way I could express it.
And it pours.
From heaven to earth.
A dazzling pouring golden light!
Kwagagagagagagagagagagaga-!
Light, just light, a golden flash!
Dozens and hundreds of them pierced the air, descending upon the earth and literally melting away the monsters and demons.
“Ahhhh!”
The demons’ flesh was on fire.
I screamed as I was engulfed in light.
Hundreds of demons and beasts were gathered together to attack Uther, and none of them were able to escape the Day of Judgment.
Quagagagaga-!
It was a spectacular sight.
It was a terrifying force.
The light that destroys evil.
A heavenly breath poured into a place filled with the power of hell.
The true power of Heavenly Judgement that could be displayed with the help of the holy archangel Lena.
“Woooooooooooo!”
The entire Eastern Army roared.
The entire battlefield stopped for a moment at the overwhelming sight.
The demons and beasts that had been beating the Eastern Army looked at the heavenly light with blank expressions.
“wow.”
Uder was like that too.
Yuder, who looked up at the sky while surrounded by the black dragon’s energy, could not hide his admiration.
Judgment Day is the power to burn the devil.
That’s why it didn’t harm Uther at all, and thanks to that, Uther was able to clearly see the light pouring down from the sky and the two angels standing in between.
And that’s what follows.
The reason Cordelia insisted on attending the first trial.
It wasn’t because of the rings of light that appeared continuously across Cordelia’s chest.
Leveling up is one thing, but there was a more important reason.
A swept battlefield.
So the gates of hell are fully revealed.
On the first day of judgment, Cordelia, exhausted from her powers, gave up her hand in the heavenly judgment.
Lena focused all her power on the Heavenly Judgement.
Attack the gates of hell directly.
He pours his celestial power into it, destroying and weakening it, even though it is much larger than Endymion’s. He shrinks it to a size that can be closed.
“Block-!”
Haragen shouted from the ground.
A few demons shouted.
Some of the demons fighting the Eastern Army threw themselves towards the gates of hell.
But it was too far.
There was nothing between Lena and the gates of hell at this moment.
“Power of judgment.”
Lena gave it her all.
Instead of a judgment day covering the earth, a single, focused beam of light was directed towards the gates of Hell.
This will break down the gates of hell.
Destroy and reduce.
And Cordelia uses the remaining angel power to perform a magic spell on the seal.
Close the gates of hell and stop their ambitions.
The light went out.
A moment, a moment.
But it doesn’t come because time seems to have stopped.
Haragen struggled.
The demons turned their gazes at the pouring celestial power. They did not dare to face it.
And at that moment.
When the power of judgment is about to collide with the gates of Hell.
Uder saw.
Coming forth from the gates of hell.
That which emerged in a moment and clashed head-on with the power of judgment.
Kwagagagagang-!
There was an explosion of light.
A tremendous flash of light blinded everyone on the battlefield.
But Uther could tell.
Lena could sense it.
Demon Prince.
The Grand Duke of the Demon World!
Quagga River!
The power of judgment is broken.
Couldn’t reach the gates of hell.
Cordelia forced her eyes open and saw the gates of hell.
And I could see it.
A huge black arm squeezing through the gates of hell.
The devil’s hand.
That held back the power of judgment. It guarded the gates of hell.
It was a close call.
The demon’s hand burst into flames. It fell to the ground with a thud.
But it didn’t break. It didn’t disappear.
Instead, he stirred up a purple aura again and attacked Lena, who was standing there in an exhausted state.
“Lena!”
Cordelia quickly flew forward and pushed Lena away.
The purple sphere fired by the Demon Prince pierced through the air, annihilating everything in its path.
‘Purple Sun!’
The highest level of magic that no human can even dream of using unless they are a great wizard of some level.
Although it was small in scale, it was definitely Purple Sun. It unleashed a terrifying magic of destruction in one breath.
‘no.’
Cordelia looked at the ground again.
The Demon Prince has not yet passed through the gates of Hell. What has emerged is merely an arm, and that arm has also suffered extensive damage from the power of the judgment.
He did counterattack, but that was it. As if to prove it, the bastard’s arm was hanging down and he didn’t use magic again.
But Lena’s face turned ashen.
It’s not just that I’ve exhausted myself so much, but also because I feel hopeless about the current situation.
‘There is no other way.’
I just used all my strength in one blow.
There was no more room.
Although they had managed to stop the Demon Prince’s right arm, time was now on their side.
Lena’s power alone was not enough to stop the Demon Prince.
Cordelia’s power alone was not enough to close such a gigantic gate to hell.
“Lena!”
Cordelia screamed.
I flew higher to avoid the attacks of the raging monsters and demons.
He hugged Lena and looked down at the ground. It was to find Yuder.
“Koooo!”
“Kaaaah!”
The monsters swarmed towards Yuder as he landed on the ground.
A golden whirlwind blew around Yuder, but the number of monsters rushing in from all directions was too great.
Haragen laughed.
I breathed a sigh of relief, and soon burst into laughter so loud it felt like my heart was going to burst.
Ah, this is it.
This is the number you prepared.
Yeah, I admit it.
My liver and gallbladder felt cold.
If the Demon Prince had been just a little bit later, if he hadn’t pushed himself too hard, the gates of hell might have closed.
But it didn’t close.
The Demon Prince’s descent was delayed because they had just blocked the blow, but time was on their side.
The fight between the Eastern Army and the monsters began again.
Haragen looked at the ground with a smile. He saw Yuder, who was fighting well but would soon be crushed by the monsters, and he saw two angels in the sky.
“It was you guys.”
It was something that interfered with everything.
It was you who forced yourself to make the choice you are making now.
But I don’t hate you guys.
Thanks to you guys, I feel like I made the right choice.
Haragen continued to laugh.
I saw Uther fighting desperately and Cordelia looking like she was about to fall at any moment.
I enjoyed watching Lena despair.
And Cordelia saw Uther.
While holding Lena’s waist, he fired a barrage of light bullets with his remaining hand and turned his gaze towards Yuder.
And Uther caught his gaze.
The distance was too far to exchange glances, but the two looked at each other and shared their thoughts as always.
‘Should I do it?’
Uther smiled bitterly at Cordelia’s question.
‘Okay, let’s go with plan B.’
A contingency plan in case Lena’s plan fails.
Cordelia laughed.
I did it even if it was forced.
She pulled her fist with her best smile. She withdrew the power of an angel and unleashed the power of a witch.
Paha-!
Cordelia’s hair turned black. A crimson aura burned down Cordelia’s right arm.
Lena looked back at Cordelia.
Cordelia smiled brightly and waved her right arm.
He hurled the black blade towards the ground.
Haragen saw Cordelia like that.
I followed the trajectory of the black blade.
surface.
A crack created by an earthquake caused by the wild gods.
A black blade dug into it.
And then Haragen realized.
What Cordelia is trying to do.
That’s why I burst out laughing. I laughed at Cordelia’s foolishness.
“Stupid thing.”
Yes, the dragon vein flows even in the Snow Flower Wind Plain.
But that’s it.
There is no dragon vein.
Whether you make the dragon vein go wild or whatever, it just causes a small explosion.
No matter what you do, the gates of hell will remain open.
You were not wrong.
It was the right decision.
That’s why Uther and Cordelia knew it too.
“bang.”
Cordelia said.
And then there was a small explosion.
However, since a part of the dragon vein was touched, the ground shook.
The explosion was so great that it made the monsters rushing towards Yuder stop for a moment.
And that’s it.
It just has to end there.
But it wasn’t.
Cordelia never lost her smile.
Because this was just the beginning.
Because I just pulled the trigger.
What Uther and Cordelia prepared.
Something I wanted to do before I learned of Lena’s resurrection.
“Our family is amazing.”
Cordelia said, and Lena blinked.
Haragen glared at Cordelia again.
one.
And two.
Cordelia, who had been counting down, smiled brightly again.
Said with the best smile.
“Fuck, bang.”
And then the explosion happened.
bang.
This time it wasn’t that big either.
But it continued.
Explosions occurred one after another underground.
Boom, bang, bang.
It was not normal.
What on earth happened?
All the demons looked at the same place.
And then Haragen realized that the explosion was going in one direction.
‘It’s flowing’.
“Explosions are art.”
Kwakang!
There was a tremendous, truly enormous explosion.
It was a far away place.
It wasn’t close.
But even that continued. The explosions continued.
Towards the East, towards the West.
Drawing a line.
Go with the flow.
“Dragon vein.”
flow.
Something that is connected as one.
Cordelia’s idea was simple.
The dragon vein is a flow. Let’s use that flow.
It’s an idea that’s practically like passing the buck, with no idea of how to use it.
But it was enough. The idea took shape in Yuder’s head.
Infrastructure built by Magellan’s high elves.
A research facility built by Magellan’s high elves.
Even if one dragon vein spring exploded, other dragon vein springs did not explode in a chain reaction because the distance between the dragon vein springs was far.
But if there is something to relay between them.
If the dragon vein could cause a chain explosion like dominoes.
The Snow Queen was not alone.
There were also abandoned research facilities in the east and west.
The infrastructure of the High Elves made the flow of the Dragon Vein clearer.
Uther and Cordelia sent bombs into the dragon vein.
Bombs frozen by the power of the Snow Queen.
And I ran on two feet and used the town portal as much as I could. I brought all the research facilities I could get to within the time limit to a state of near-collapse.
And now, at this moment.
Plan B was activated.
I pushed the first piece of domino.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions continued to occur in places unseen, far away.
The reason Cordelia didn’t use the Snow Queen in this battle was simple.
Because I used it as a bomb to make the dragon vein go wild.
Of course, even Uther and Cordelia couldn’t mass-produce bombs that could be deployed across the entire vast Dragon Vein in just four days.
But it wasn’t necessary in the first place.
Because the dragon vein is a flow.
If the level of outrage exceeds a certain level, the entire dragon vein will eventually go out of control.
Just like right now.
Kwagagagagagagaga-!
The dragon vein shook.
The dragon veins went wild one after another, and each time one went wild, the entire dragon veins would go wild faster.
The artificial spirits exploded one after another.
Deep underground, the high elves’ research facilities exploded, adding to the power of the rampage.
East and West.
All of the wild land.
The entire dragon vein!
Kwagagagagagagagagaga-!
The axis shook.
It was the result of the dragon veins in the west and east running wild.
The earth shook and earthquakes occurred everywhere. The wild gods could not hide their shock.
Fine Snow Wind felt his sanctuary being destroyed, and Bluebeard sensed the holy place being blown away. The Great Tempest looked at Uther and Cordelia with a blank expression.
Kukookung!
There was also an explosion in the distant Sky Roof Mountains.
The fighting stopped again.
There was no choice but to do so due to the rampage of the dragon veins that shook the entire wild land.
Even Haragen looked at Cordelia with a dumbfounded face.
I tried to understand the current situation somehow.
The West was already a scorched earth.
The wild gods’ holy land and the Yongmaekcheon were quite far from the tribes’ dwellings, so even if the entire Yongmaek went berserk, there would be almost no casualties.
But even so, would it cause the entire dragon vein to go berserk?
Blow up the entire sanctuary of the wild gods?
It wasn’t normal.
No, the other side was more important than that.
Why on earth?
What do you get from it?
The Great Storm knew.
That’s why I couldn’t help but laugh even though I was swearing.
“Those crazy guys.”
But the crazy guys in my house.
The gentle snow wind also knew. The blue beard also realized.
The entire dragon vein went wild.
Because of this, the entire dragon vein was purified. The hellish energy was shaken off with an explosion.
And the result.
Those who wake up because of it.
Krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-!
A roar erupted from the sky.
Once again the sky split open and golden light covered the ground.
Haragen looked at the sky with a blank expression.
Lena blinked, and Cordelia smiled, her fangs flashing.
“The Golden Dragon King.”
Uder said.
The dragon emblems on Uther and Cordelia’s fists glowed, and a roar echoed through the sky.
It was the cry of the one who was the lord of the wild lands and the king of the wild gods, the one who was the dragon vein itself.
The hellish energy that had been rising from the gates of hell suddenly disappeared.
The Snow Flower Wind Plains were purified in an instant.
And then lightning struck.
A huge golden flash descended from the sky to the ground, specifically towards Uther.
“Uder!”
As Cordelia screamed in despair and tried to throw herself, Lena stopped her.
Because she was an angel, she could tell.
It wasn’t the Golden Dragon King who punished Yuder.
Rather, it was a handing over of one’s own power.
[How generous.]
The Golden Dragon King spoke to Yuder.
I gave permission to blow up the polluted dragon veins, but who would have thought that I would cause the entire dragon vein to go out of control?
[Thanks to you, I am not normal either.]
I woke up, but I couldn’t function properly.
That is why the Golden Dragon King chose Yuder.
He entrusted his power to the guardian of the wild.
[Finish it.]
Break down and destroy the gates of hell.
The power of the wild will be with you.
The light was blazing.
The demons and beasts surrounding Yuder disappeared with screams.
And there stood Uther.
With the whole body bathed in golden light.
Become the incarnation of the Golden Dragon King.
“Shall we begin?”
Uther spoke as he looked up at the sky, and Cordelia nodded. Through the dragon’s emblem, the wild power was also transmitted to Cordelia.
Now all that remains is to close the gates of hell.
Uther and Cordelia looked at each other again.
After sharing a smile as usual, I looked back at the gates of hell.
