Chapter 35 – Gathering

Two men from the Counts Bayer and Chase took their places in the love nest of Uther and Cordelia.

‘What seat?’

‘No, that’s just what it says. Think of it as something like a prop in a play.’

Anyway, take a seat.

The Great Storm Tribe did not use chairs, but sat on the floor on cushions, so they sat two at a time, facing each other, with a hearth placed in the middle of the tent between them.

‘That’s natural.’

Because Uther and Cordelia sat next to each other, and Gale and Adelia sat next to each other.

Even while sitting, Uther still held Cordelia’s shoulder and kept a close contact, and although Gail and Adelia sat next to each other, they were not exactly close to each other.

Should I just say it’s just the right distance?

“Ugh, ugh.”

Cordelia leaned against Uther and looked at Adelia and Gale with teary eyes.

It seemed as if he had completely forgotten the excitement that had set in because of the series of actions Yuder had shown, as all his attention was focused on Adelia and Gale.

And actually, it wasn’t that strange.

‘Because I’m used to it.’

Cordelia had become accustomed to being held and carried by Uther almost every day since entering the Wild Lands.

“Ugh, ugh.”

Cordelia, who had been terrified that Adelia would come, was nowhere to be found.

The only person sitting there now was a younger sibling who had a cat-like mouth, a tearful gaze, and a strange sound that seemed to imply, ‘I see, that’s how it was.’

“Uuuu······.”

Indeed, Cordelia’s older sister.

Adelia was still groaning with a red face even as she sat down, and she couldn’t even look at Gail, just staring at the ground.

‘It’s shaking.’

In my heart.

It was as Yuder had guessed. In Adelia’s head, the events that had just happened were being replayed over and over again, embellished with the help of a bean-pod filter.

‘We’re not related… are we?’

That expression and voice, with eyes full of excellence and a gloomy yet sorrowful, yet unable to let go of a glimmer of hope.

‘Why are you doing this, why are you doing this to me. Aaaaah······.’

Adelia was exactly like Cordelia, except she didn’t vomit.

‘Adelia Chase.’

Cordelia’s older sister.

One of the seven commanders of the Royal Magic Corps.

A magical genius who inherited the talents of Count Chase.

He is overbearing, choleric, and even has violent tendencies –

‘Sister Cordelia is right.’

It was really pretty.

Unlike Cordelia’s clear red hair, her golden hair, which seemed to sparkle if left alone, was beautiful in itself, and the white face between them, although it had fierce eyes, possessed a sharp and urbane beauty.

Moreover, right now, I was blushing with embarrassment and didn’t know what to do.

She was the one who radiated what is called a surprising charm thanks to that side of her that was not usually seen.

‘Well, it’s still Cordelia after all.’

Cordelia is more beautiful than Adelia, and she is even more lovable.

Uder, who had made a subjective evaluation that was not at all objective, nodded his head a few times before turning his gaze towards Gale.

‘Have you overcome it?’

The reason why he, the eldest grandson of the Counts of Bayer and the undisputed successor to the Counts of Bayer, did not marry until he was in his late twenties.

I didn’t know it when I was Outboxer 009, but now that I’ve been reborn as Uder Bayer, I know.

What happened to Gail.

An incident that caused Gail to give up on marriage for a while and focus solely on training.

In the original, it was an incident that was never overcome. No, perhaps they were ready to overcome it, but before they could meet that opportunity, the disaster of the northern invasion by the barbarians came first.

‘brother.’

Not just a supporting character in Heroes Chronicles 2, but the older brother of Juder Bayer himself.

He looked at Adelia, who was bashful, with a warm smile.

Even though he was sitting there calmly, Yuder could tell.

Gail’s earlobes were also slightly red. It seemed that Gail was also embarrassed one way or another.

‘still.’

It was really nice to see the way he looked at Adelia.

Do you think the way he looks at Cordelia would be that warm to others?

“Ugh, ugh.”

Uder glanced at Cordelia, who was still smiling brightly and looking at Adelia, and soon snickered.

Anyway, now it was time to move the story forward.

“Ahem.”

As Uther coughed, Gale and Cordelia turned to look at him.

Adelia was still looking at the ground, but she seemed to have heard it because she flinched.

“Anyway… let’s talk.”

Because there were really stories that needed to be shared.

“Yes, Yuder. Let’s start with your story. You became the disciple of Iron Man Landius, right? And I heard you have a connection with the Holy Cross Guardians. Can you tell me where it all started?”

Because until they left Langest, the two of them had no real connection to the Holy Cross.

Adelia also looked at Uther and Cordelia with a somewhat calm expression on her face after Gale’s calm remark, and Cordelia also looked back at Uther.

‘Are you going to tell?’

‘Oh, that’s right.’

After exchanging glances, Yuder coughed again and began to speak.

“It all starts when you meet the Fairy Queen.”

To summarize Uder’s story, it was as follows.

The Fairy Queen warned us about the coming attacks by demon followers in Langest, and told us about the witch.

After the Langest incident, I went to the Witch’s Forest and met the witch’s spirit, and heard a warning about Landius and a story about the atrocities committed by the demon followers beyond the northern border.

While moving to Count Hresvelg’s house, he met Landius and became his disciple, and finally made a decision.

“You’re determined to go north and stop the devil followers—is that right?”

“Yes, brother.”

But the story was based on very weak evidence.

Moreover, Count Hresvelg was in a situation where he was trying to prevent Juder and Cordelia from leaving Berd Folnir.

Because of this, Uther and Cordelia had no choice but to leave Berd Folnir under the pretense of a honeymoon trip.

“After that······.”

On the way north, he headed to Frost Anvil to cure Yuder’s illness, and while obtaining the Sunflower there, he came into conflict with demon followers.

“I was also able to gain the conviction that something was a conspiracy going on in the Wild Lands – no, the Wild Lands.”

Afterwards, he crossed the border via Langebust, and in the process, he encountered the swordsman Kamael again.

“After this, you probably already know, hyung.”

The Guardians of the Wild Lands, who are busy trying to stop the Eyes of the Demon, a group of demon followers that are devouring the Wild Lands, and their plots.

“As expected… it wasn’t a simple runaway… no, it wasn’t an escape from love.”

“I was immature and couldn’t come up with an excuse beyond that. As you said, I ended up causing trouble to many people.”

As Uther made a gloomy expression, Gale made a pitiful expression, and Cordelia gently poked Uther in the ribs.

‘Doesn’t it seem like it worked?’

‘of course.’

Who made up that story?

Uther smiled very small so that only Cordelia could see him, then looked back at Gale and Adelia and spoke.

“Brother, and Lady Adelia. If the demon followers take over the wild lands, there will be another great war between the North and the barbarians. That must be prevented.”

“That’s true. Furthermore… after walking through this land myself, I have a slightly different opinion. I wonder if we had too much prejudice against the barbarians.”

But that was it.

The Kingdom of Seilun and the barbarians of the Savage Lands have clashed many times throughout history, and not all of those clashes were the result of conspiracies by demon followers.

It was clear to them that the people living in the wild lands were not beasts in human form as was known in northern Cailun, but people just like themselves, but they had no great illusions about that fact.

In the first place, weren’t the Argon Empire and the Kingdom of Cailun in conflict even though they were made up of the same people?

“I will help Miss Cordelia and Yuder. What will Miss Adelia do?”

Gail, who had clearly stated her intentions, stepped forward for Adelia, and Adelia took a deep breath and answered.

“I will help too. It is for the defense of the kingdom.”

In any case, she was one of the seven captains of the Royal Magic Guard.

The current situation has already changed from a personal matter of catching my sister who ran away during her vacation to a public matter of defending the kingdom, so it was natural for me to step forward as a person receiving royalties from the kingdom.

“Thank you, sis.”

“Huh, not really for you.”

“Ugh.”

Uther and Gale smiled happily as if they had made a promise, seeing Cordelia and Adelia having a conversation like the children of Count Chase.

“And Uther.”

“Yes, brother.”

“Maybe we won’t be all there are.”

At Gale’s words, Uther and Cordelia both tilted their heads.

It’s not just Gail and Adelia.

What does that mean?

“No, what should I say… As a result, we ended up doing something similar to running away from home.”

“Runaway…is that it?”

“Because I intentionally cut off contact with my family in order to cross the border.”

“If I say I’ll chase you across the border, it’s obvious that my family will object.”

At Adelia’s addition to Gale’s words, Uther and Cordelia looked at each other and said different things.

“indeed.”

“Then, are you going on a honeymoon trip too, Sister?”

“No way?! That’s not it?!”

Adelia, who shouted reflexively, flinched for a moment and then looked back at Gale.

Gail didn’t say anything, but Adelia squirmed and spoke.

“Ah, no! That’s what I mean! That··· Prince Gale and I aren’t related at all··· Ugh······.”

In the end, Adelia, who had committed suicide, groaned with a red face again, and everyone who was watching Adelia thought.

‘You’re cute.’

Why has such a cute Adelia been alone until now?

When everyone looks at Adelia with warm eyes, and Adelia becomes even more helpless and cute under those gazes, the vicious cycle repeats.

Yuder, who came to his senses first, looked at Gale and asked.

“So are you saying that there may be additional pursuers from the family?”

“Yeah, that’s probably very likely.”

Should I say candy in a row?

“But I don’t plan on clearly conveying the current situation to the family.”

Because it happened across the border.

If the family had actively stepped forward to help Yuder and his party, things could have become more troublesome.

“Let’s think of asking for help from our family as a last resort.”

If the Wild Lands were to fall into the hands of demon followers, then the entire North might have to take military action.

“All right.”

“okay.”

Having said that, Gale looked at Cordelia again and continued speaking.

“I have already spoken with Miss Adelia. I ask for Miss Cordelia’s understanding as well.”

“Yes, sir.”

Cordelia, who answered somewhat quietly, smiled brightly at the end, and Gale also smiled warmly.

And one person.

No, one thing – or rather, one being.

“Are you done?”

In response to the question from the rough avalanche crouching in the corner of the tent, Uther and Cordelia nodded, while Gale and Adelia looked a little embarrassed.

“Why on earth did you call me, why?”

Rough Snow Avalanche grumbled and got up from his seat, then sat down again between the two couples sitting across from each other and said.

“Anyway, now that the basics are sorted out, all we have to do is join forces and defeat those devil followers, right?”

“We have to win at Caraval before that.”

At Cordelia’s words, the rough snowball nodded.

“Yes, Caraval.”

A showdown that will determine the fate of the Eastern Alliance – and the entire Wild Lands – in two days.

“Sister, and uncle. I have a favor to ask.”

Because the Red Wind needed to get a little stronger to win.

And to do that, he also needed the help of Gail and Adelia.

“therefore······.”

Cordelia, who had looked back at Uther, spoke of the conversation they had had earlier, and Gale and Adelia nodded with serious faces.

And in the meantime, the rough avalanche thought to itself.

‘So why did I call you in the end?’

Was I really needed for this meeting?

Anyway, the conversation continued, and time passed along with it.

&

“Let’s go.”

“To the land of gentle snow winds.”

“To the land of gentle snow winds.”

All the barbarian tribes in the east took action.

From small tribes of a few hundred people to large tribes of tens of thousands of people.

The chieftains each led their warriors to the Basin of the Windy Snow.

To watch over the Caraval that will unfold under the guidance of the beautiful and wise wild god, Gounnunbaram, and to be a witness to history and to lend strength to the Eastern Federation that will be formed in the future.

“Let’s go.”

The Red Whirlwind also led the warriors.

Although he was so ill that he could not even leave his residence, he had to participate in this Caraval.

The Great Storm sent off its greatest warrior.

He blessed his daughter, the girl who would decide the fate of the Eastern Federation.

“Daughter of the wind, red and beautiful wind that freely roams the world. You can be anything, you can do anything.”

Although he had the appearance of a boy, he was a wild god who had been caring for the tribe for a long time.

Red Wind accepted the Great Storm’s blessing with gratitude and promised to do his best for him.

“Let’s go too.”

Adelia was the first to nod at Gale’s words, and Cordelia, with a tearful face, let out a sob before being pinched in the side by Adelia.

And Uther looked west.

The devil’s eyes.

The Angry Horn Tribe and the demon followers Haragen who took over the West.

And the powerful demon who murdered Count Bayer and Gale in the original work.

‘Is this the second act?’

The conflict between East and West.

Caraval, the beginning.

“Yuder, Yuuder. Why are you frowning like that? Where does it hurt?”

“No, I was just trying to weigh it. Does our princess have any pain?”

“It hurts. Let’s go quickly without talking nonsense.”

“okay.”

After finishing the usual exchange, Yuder tried to ignore Adelia’s gaze as if to say, “Are you our princess?” and walked forward.

Together with Cordelia, Caraval headed to the land of beautiful snow and wind.

And at the same time.

Count Chase was writing a letter in his luxurious lodgings in Rankebust.

The recipient is Count Bayer, a long-time friend and now brother-in-law.

The content wasn’t that long.

As expected from Count Chase, it contained only plain explanations.

‘It looks like the kids have crossed the border.’

There was none in the North.

There were no deaths or serious injuries.

Then what remains is the savage land beyond the border.

Count Chase paused with his pen for a moment.

He smiled slightly and added a line.

‘I’ll be back soon.’

This was enough.

Count Chase, who had sealed the letter, was wrapped in a red cloak. He held a space-expanding bag filled with bags in one hand and a jeweled staff in the other.

“To the north.”

Count Chase left his quarters.

I took a step towards the north.
