Ending Maker Episode 399
Chapter 2 – Back to Earth #1
The northern part of the Kingdom of Seilun, the border city of Baylun.
Also known as the County of Bayer, it was home to two of the twelve northern houses.
One was, of course, the Count Bayer family, and the other was the Count Chase family, who claimed the Red Dawn Tower as their fiefdom.
Despite being the land where two families belonging to the 12 Northern Clans resided, the past Baylun was closer to a backward area, as its name, ‘Border City’, suggests.
This was actually not that strange, because although they were part of the 12 Northern Clans, the Count Bayer family was merely a military family whose power was gradually weakening, and the Count Chase family only had a mansion in Bairun, and their actual territory was the Red Dawn Tower.
Given the circumstances of the two families, Baylun, which was not particularly fertile and had no special products, could only remain a small city located on the border.
But in just two years, things changed.
In Bairun, special products called shampoo and rinse were created.
Factories were built everywhere, and the number of merchants traveling to and from Bairun increased.
From then on, it was the beginning of a natural virtuous cycle.
People grow, money grows, the city grows, and more people and money gather in Baylun.
The decisive blow was the joining of Cordelia’s upper ranks.
With the full support of Cordelia’s upper echelons, Baylun has made remarkable progress and has now become a metropolis rivaling Langest, the heart of the North.
The center of such a bayrun.
Originally located on the outskirts, the Counts of Bayer moved to the center as the city grew, and there was one thing that didn’t fit in with the bustling city at all.
“Wow, this is paradise.”
“Are you cool?”
“Oh, great. This is really great.”
Under the shade of a large tree.
A pure white baby bear was lying on the maid’s lap with a tired expression on its face. The maid, with a gentle smile on her face as if she found the baby bear so adorable, continued to slowly comb the bear’s hair.
A pure white baby bear.
It was not strange that there was a bear in the middle of the city, and in the count’s mansion at that.
Of course, the talking baby bear was remarkable in his own right, but there was something even more special about the baby bear in question.
Wild god.
A guardian of nature, born and raised in the wild.
“The weather is nice.”
The wild god, Rough Snow Avalanche, closed his eyes with a blissful smile in a mild climate that was completely different from the wild land where snowstorms blew all year round.
It was to feel the maid’s combing a little more.
Originally, it was planned that Rough Snow Avalanche would just bring Yuna back and return to the wild lands, but somehow(?) it had already been 7 whole months since he had settled down at Count Bayer’s house.
‘Can’t I just make this my sanctuary?’
I think it would be okay to treat the maids as tribesmen.
A being that symbolizes the trading city of Baylun.
From far away, it seemed as if the great storm and the wild gods and the inhabitants of the wild lands were calling out, but it was literally a rough avalanche that was so far away that it was hard to hear.
But that was just then.
As he was imagining himself going to an event in the city of Bairun dressed up in a cute tuxedo, a story he couldn’t ignore came into his ears.
“Oh my, really?”
“Oh, really. This is the 100th love escape.”
“Haa… … This is so romantic.”
Love’s escape.
100th.
At the sound of the maids chattering, the rough-looking Avalanche shook his head without realizing it.
Because it was so clear who was talking about.
‘Still the same.’
This is the 100th time I’ve run away from love.
Who else but that guy and that guy has run away with love 100 times?
‘No, it wasn’t a love affair to begin with, was it?’
Aren’t you already married with the blessings of both sets of parents and even the entire world?
“Ha… … I also want to try running away with love.”
“me too.”
At the sound of the maids’ voices coming one after another, Gunan Snow Avalanche shook his head again.
Because of the trend created by the two people, the culture of running away in the middle of the night before marriage became established in the Kingdom of Seilun.
‘I’m sure you’ll eat well and move around well.’
Because it was those two people and no one else.
It would have been a loss to worry.
‘I’m sure he’s doing well even now, doing cute things that make the viewers’ hands and feet curl up.’
The rough avalanche that I imagined for a moment made me flinch and shiver.
Because just imagining it made my hands and feet curl up.
“Mr. Rough Snow Avalanche?”
“Huh? No, just for a moment.”
The rough-eyed Avalanche smiled at the maid who was looking down at him with concern, then sat up instead of closing his eyes again and lying down.
Because I could see some happy faces approaching from over there.
“Go Ma-Je-Sa-Si!”
“Go Ma-Je-Sa-Si!”
“Oh my, are our babies here?”
The rough snowball greeted Ember and Aiden as they walked towards him, and he also walked towards the two children in the same manner.
And same time, different place.
The imagination of a wild avalanche had become reality.
* * *
“Okay, say ‘ah.’ ‘Ah.’”
On a hill with nice mountains, water, and wind.
When Cordelia, sitting on the mat, held out a piece of kimbap she was holding with chopsticks and spoke, Yuder glanced around briefly and then opened his mouth a little timidly.
“ah.”
“Yeah, good job.”
Cordelia put the kimbap in Yuder’s mouth and immediately picked up another one and said.
“Ah again.”
It was such a sweet and loving voice, but instead of obediently opening his mouth, Yuder let out a hmm cough.
“Hey, you’re usually so shy, but you’re not embarrassed anymore?”
“Oh, I’m not embarrassed. Because no one is watching? Are you the one who’s embarrassed right now? Huh? Is that so?”
When Cordelia asked, tilting her head, Uther opened his mouth with a calm expression as if he had no idea, but Cordelia could tell.
That means Yuder’s cheeks are turning red.
‘When other people see you, you’re not like that, but when you’re alone, you’re like this?’
Would you say that you feel even more embarrassed, especially when you are in a situation like this?
‘What kind of shame is this?’
While usually committing much more shameful acts with a nonchalant face.
But Cordelia didn’t really care.
To her, who had been covered in so many bean-pods, this bashful appearance seemed like one of Yuder’s charms.
‘It can also be a means of attack.’
Because a shy Yuder is truly rare and cute.
Cordelia, who was laughing inside, held out the kimbap again as if telling him to open his mouth obediently, and spoke with her eyes, while Yuder opened his mouth with his eyes slightly closed, still looking embarrassed.
And the other two people who were watching these two people looked at each other with lukewarm eyes and said.
[Well, it’s a bit new, but don’t you think sometimes we forget that we’re watching?]
[Isn’t that sometimes the case?]
Velencia, the sword spirit of Sword Origin, and Melissa, the artificial spirit that resides in Moonlight.
Thanks to the artifact created by Edward, the two were able to communicate with each other and even share the same space like they do now.
[What does it mean to kiss while eating kimbap?]
[Is it a day or two?]
When Velencia answered with a face of enlightenment, Melissa spoke in a serious voice, as if she was truly impressed.
[Velencia, you really have a strong tolerance for this kind of thing.]
[It’s not like I came to Geomli for nothing.]
And then another ten seconds or so passed.
[Ahem ahem, shall we play chess?]
[Is that so?]
The two men, whose faces were flushed by the scene unfolding outside, turned around politely and laid out the chess board.
Five days after the 100th love escape.
Traveling along a road less traveled, Uther and Cordelia’s destination was the new Paragon Kingdom located outside the borders of the Kingdom of Cailun.
In fact, in many ways it was still a bit ambiguous to call it a ‘kingdom.’
For now, there is no ‘king’ in the new Paragon Kingdom.
But in the Paragon Kingdom, there were Landius and Lena, and there were countless refugees from the Paragon Kingdom who gathered to see the two.
It was clear that it would soon be possible to lay the foundation for a proper nation.
“It looks so lively. It smells good too.”
Cordelia, who was riding on Uther’s back, looked down at the capital of the new Paragon Kingdom spread out below the hill and sniffed.
The city under construction was extremely busy, but it was also full of energy.
“Because it’s lunchtime.”
Yuder also smiled and sniffed the smell of baking bread carried by the wind.
“Let’s go quickly.”
“okay.”
Yuder smiled again and answered, but instead of turning into a black whirlwind, he summoned Nightmare.
I would have liked to just carry Cordelia on my back and trudge on, but that would have been too conspicuous.
“Is Nightmare okay?”
“Because it’s the Paragon Kingdom.”
It was the homeland of Belkian, who was reborn as none other than the No Life King – the Vampire Lord.
In fact, there were more undead than people at the construction site at the bottom of the hill.
“Somehow the construction progress was too fast.”
The sight of skeleton laborers working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, going back and forth on the construction site felt surreal even to Cordelia, who was accustomed to magic.
And as always, Uther continued his explanation while looking at the rising walls.
“For now, it’s a temporary measure that we’re using because we need more manpower… … I heard that once the country’s foundation is established to some extent, it won’t be used anymore.”
“Huh? Why? Isn’t it better to have a large workforce?”
“Because people’s jobs are decreasing.”
Cordelia blinked for a moment at Uther’s words, but soon nodded as if she understood.
“So you’re saying that if people can’t work because of the skeletons, the unemployment rate will go up?”
“That’s right. Since the Pleiades are not yet a very civilized place, there are bound to be many people engaged in physical labor, and it would be impossible to compete with skeletons.”
Even on Earth, there were times when countless jobs disappeared due to past industrial revolutions.
Of course, new jobs were created, but it is also true that a significant number of people were eliminated in the process.
“Well, that’s good.”
“What? Utherwiki?”
“No, a smart man.”
Cordelia, who spoke softly, hugged Uther’s waist tightly, and Uther rode away with a pleased expression on his face.
Belencia and Melissa, as always, had lukewarm eyes.
And then another ten minutes or so.
After crossing the royal capital of the Paragon Kingdom, which was under reconstruction, Uther and Cordelia arrived at the temporary city hall, a large building built on the site of the destroyed royal palace.
“Cordelia! Judas!”
The first one to discover the two was, of course, Lena.
The two people were wearing masks made of magic to avoid the gaze of others, but in the eyes of the angel Lena, the two people’s souls themselves were visible.
As Lena came out wearing a pair of armbands, perhaps because she was busy with paperwork, Uder and Cordelia quickly jumped out of the Nightmare and removed their magic masks.
“A crazy couple?!”
“What a fantastic couple!”
“His Holiness the Pope and the incarnation of the Goddess!”
As soon as the masks were removed, muffled gasps erupted from all over the temporary viewing area.
But Uther and Cordelia couldn’t pay attention to the reactions of those around them.
Because a being that truly catches the eye with its very existence, like the sun, has appeared.
“Disciple! Cordelia!”
The roaring call, like the force of a wall, brought smiles back to Uther and Cordelia’s faces.
A half-naked Landius, his muscles as strong as steel on full display, was waving his hand at the remains of the palace.
“As expected, as expected, Landius.”
Even though he’s clearly naked, his muscles are so firm that it almost looks like he’s wearing armor.
And now that I look at it, it seems to have gotten a little bigger.
Cordelia, who was newly impressed, smiled again and said while taking out a lottery ticket that she had once seen in a martial arts movie.
“May your muscles always be with you.”
Landius’s eyes widened at the prayer-like greeting, but soon he laughed heartily and took the lottery ticket in return.
“May your muscles always be with you!”
As expected, the meaning of words changes depending on who says them.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that Landius is the embodiment of muscle, and with the protection of muscle, Uder felt the muscles all over his body burning hot.
‘No, is this some kind of PTSD?’
Yuder unconsciously recalled Landius’ face laughing as he said, “Now that we’ve finished the upper body, let’s start with the lower body,” and said with a slightly awkward smile.
“It’s been a while, Master.”
“Okay, it’s been a while. Let’s go in and talk.”
Landius, who laughed out loud again, crossed several dozen meters in a single leap instead of trudging, and then turned back to Rena.
Then, Lena smiled brightly as if she really loved Landius, and then spoke to Yuder and Cordelia.
“It’s lunchtime. Let’s have a meal together. And catch up on things we’ve been catching up on.”
“Yes, Sister Lena.”
Lena smiled again, seeming to really like being called “sister”, then turned around and led the group.
* * *
‘Hey, Yuder, this is a new story, but.’
‘Yeah, I think I know what you’re trying to say.’
Inside the building.
Sitting across from Landius and Lena across a large table, Yuder and Cordelia were really thinking the same thing.
‘Lena is amazing.’
Landius inherited the blood of a giant and even used Ancestral Reversion to awaken the blood of a giant.
That is, Landius was a giant.
Of course, they weren’t giants like trolls or ogres that were nearly 5 meters tall, or cyclops that were over 10 meters tall, but they were definitely bigger than humans.
2 meters 40 centimeters – no, now that I’ve climbed over the Seven Gates Wall, I’m a bit taller, 2 meters 50 centimeters.
Moreover, it wasn’t just about being tall.
Thanks to his incredibly muscular physique reminiscent of a castle of steel, Landius was not only tall but also long sideways.
Lena, who sits next to Landius.
At just over 170 cm tall, she could be classified as a tall woman by Pleiades standards, but sitting next to Landius, she looked a bit like a doll.
In fact, Landius’s forearms were thicker than Lena’s waist.
And the sight before my eyes made me feel this gap once again.
A bowl containing a delicious stew with steaming hot air rising from it.
Lena’s was small.
No, it was standard size.
And Landius’s was big.
It almost felt like a pot – no, should I say a cauldron?
‘Bah, what are you doing at night- Ah, no! Out you pervert! Out you basket!’
As Cordelia blushed and frowned, Landius and Lena tilted their heads wondering what was going on, and Yuder thought with a bitter smile.
‘Maybe I should look through the bookshelf.’
The bookshelf full of books I received from Caesar.
Anyway, that was the end of my distracting thoughts.
After praising the food Lena had made herself and creating an atmosphere for conversation, Yuder began to talk seriously.
“How is everyone else doing?”
Kamael, Belkian, and Fran.
As the Cordelia Order had a close relationship with the Holy Cross Guardians, Yuder knew a lot about Kamael’s current situation, but it would not be an exaggeration to say that he knew nothing about Belkian and Fran.
To Yuder’s question, Landius answered while tearing a large piece of bread.
“You would know more about Kamael… … As for Belkian and Fran, they are in the east right now.”
“If you mean the East… …you mean the area near the border?”
“Yes, it’s right near the border that the two of you were guarding, not long after the Calamity War ended.”
During the Calamity War, the demon followers of the East led a horde to invade the West, so not only Belkian and Fran, but also Landius and Lena were active in the eastern border area.
But now that the war with the East, and even the war with the Calamity War, is over, why did the two go to the East?
“Is it because of the superhuman emperor who appeared in the East?”
A rumor that began to spread around the time of the founding of the Holy Nation of Eudellia.
A superhuman emperor appeared in the East.
A superhuman known as the Dragon of the Heavens started a great war to unite the East.
Landius nodded slowly to Uder’s question.
“He hasn’t done anything special like an invasion yet. But… … He’s definitely a person of concern. His overwhelming strength is also concerning.”
The East was nothing but a stronghold for demon followers.
Since a superhuman was born in such a land, it was not unreasonable to suspect a connection with demons.
“Like Randy said, nothing really happened, I just went to the east to check and investigate. There’s no need to cross the border.”
Lena said with a grin.
It seemed like it was meant to ventilate the serious atmosphere.
‘The superhuman emperor who appeared in the East… … The dragon of the heavens.’
This character did not exist in Heroes Chronicles 2 or 3.
Who is he and how much power does he have?
‘It might be a needless worry.’
Although he has the grand nickname of Dragon of the Sky, to be honest, I never thought he could be stronger than Landius before my eyes.
And if he wasn’t a follower of the devil, and had obtained superhuman powers as a result of pure practice, then there was no particular reason for Uder to oppose him.
It wasn’t like Lena said that we were invading the West.
‘Because Belkian and Fran went there.’
If there were two people, there was a high chance that they would be able to resolve the situation on their own even if an unexpected emergency occurred.
‘Okay, let’s move on.’
Even Landius and Lena right in front of us don’t seem to be taking it that seriously.
After gathering his thoughts, Yuder straightened his posture again and opened his mouth again while drinking the tea Lena had given him.
“Master, may I ask what you said you would tell me when we arrived?”
It wasn’t for nothing that Uther and Cordelia visited the Paragon Kingdom.
In the first place, the starting point of the 100th love escape was the letter sent by Landius and Lena.
-I hope you will come to the Paragon Kingdom in the near future.
At Yuder’s question, Landius and Lena took a deep breath and looked at each other, and then Lena opened her mouth.
“I called you… …because there’s something I want us to solve together.”
“Together?”
“Yeah, the four of us together.”
Lena nodded to Cordelia’s question and smiled meaningfully.
