Chapter 99 – Reunion
The next morning.
It was still quite early, before noon, but there were quite a few people gathered in the reception room, and the composition of the crowd was quite eye-catching.
Lucas Hresvelg, the successor to the Hresvelg Count family, one of the twelve northern families, and was considered the greatest late-blooded leader in the North before the appearance of Uder.
The Southern Seven Clans – no, now the leader of the Southern Six Clans, the golden jade leaf of the Marquis of Orfund and the renowned martial artist, Kaisa Orfund.
Actually, up until this point, the configuration was not that strange.
Both of them were descendants of noble families and were famous for being close friends of Uther and Cordelia.
But the presence of the two people sitting side by side and the other two sitting face to face made the current combination feel incongruous.
A girl with blue hair, furrowing her brows slightly, engaging in a staring contest with Lucas.
Not only was his hair color unusual, but his long, pointed ears were even more so.
A northern barbarian who appears to be an elf at first glance, but is not an elf, and it would be difficult to call them half-elves either.
But it was okay until the girl.
What was causing the discomfort in this place to explode was the huge young man standing right next to the girl.
Her skin was unusually gray, and she was so large that she seemed to be at least three times as tall as the girl sitting next to her – no, four times as tall.
The young man’s forearms were thicker than the girl’s waist.
The young man, whose fangs were poking out from between his lips, glared at Lucas, who was engaged in a staring contest with the girl, and Kaisha glared at the young man for the new friend she had met yesterday.
Imminent danger.
But it’s a subtle war of nerves that doesn’t seem like it will lead to a real fight.
While the maids of Count Bayer’s household are in trouble, a girl appears to end the war.
“Oh my, oh my, ahem, ahem, oh my.”
A red-haired girl appears dancing a shoulder dance.
It was such an absurd thing to say, but everyone’s reaction was one of joy.
The girl who had been glaring at Lucas – Red Wind – burst into laughter.
“Sister!”
“Red! No, red wind!”
When Cordelia quickly spread her arms as if telling him to come and hug her, Red Wind jumped up from his seat and ran towards Cordelia, hugging her waist.
“I missed you, Sister.”
“I missed you too.”
Although Red Wind was taller than Cordelia, he bent down crookedly as if he didn’t care about such things, and buried his face in Cordelia’s chest, enjoying it. Of course, he didn’t forget to snort and look at Lucas.
‘My sister and I are this close?’
That look. Lucas was momentarily furious, but he couldn’t cling to Cordelia like the red wind.
That’s why Lucas turned his gaze to the young man who appeared after Cordelia.
‘No, man. It might be fun, but I don’t think that’s right.’
Let’s not just go and hug each other or anything?
When Caesar spoke with her eyes and grabbed Lucas’ hand, Lucas flinched but soon nodded.
So when the Red Wind was intoxicated with a small sense of victory.
Yuder, who had foolishly grasped the situation, took care of Lucas.
“Thank you so much for meeting me so early in the morning.”
“No, it’s between me and Confucius. It’s natural.”
When Yuder pointed it out, Lucas, who was in a hurry, glanced at Red Wind and snorted. Red Wind frowned and stuck his tongue out.
‘They’re just kids.’
But if you think about it, Lucas and Red Wind are seventeen now, so it was fitting that they were kids.
So, Uder spoke to the least childish of the people present.
“Sun Song, it’s been a while.”
“It’s been a while. Nice to meet you.”
When Sun Song answered in a slightly awkward common language and laughed, Caesar also laughed along.
She was called the beast woman because she liked the truly beastly young man in front of her.
“I like the red back. I really like it.”
It was when Sunsong laughed again at Caesar’s muttering.
“First of all… let’s each have a cup of tea.”
As if responding to Juder’s words, Cordelia sat down with the red wind still hanging on her, and Maia, who followed Juder back to Count Bayer’s house, gave each of the group a cup of tea.
Just like that, slurp.
It was just after everyone had quieted down to drink tea.
“Yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah.”
Cordelia hummed softly and waved her left hand around aimlessly, as if to ask someone to look over.
Because it was such an exaggerated movement – and especially because Cordelia’s cheeks were bright red – everyone’s eyes were quickly focused on her left hand.
But unfortunately, the reaction Cordelia had hoped for did not come right away, and the reason was very simple.
First, Red Wind and Sun Song did not know the customs of the continent well. In other words, they did not know what the ring on the left ring finger meant.
Second, Caesar wasn’t the type of person who would care about such things. After all, Cordelia was wearing Count Chase’s ring on her ring finger yesterday.
Because of that, everyone just stared blankly, and because of that, Cordelia felt embarrassed – and disappointed – and pursed her lips.
“ah.”
A person of common sense who was present here.
Lucas, who was able to read Cordelia’s wishes, let out a small exclamation and then looked back at Uther and Cordelia with a bright smile.
“Congratulations.”
Even though they were already engaged, it was unusual for them to exchange rings in person.
Caesar, who finally noticed Lucas’ words, started to laugh out loud, and Cordelia blushed and started to laugh hehehe.
“Ahem.”
And Uther.
He cleared his throat and changed the subject to Red Wind and Sun Song, who tilted their heads as if they didn’t know what was going on.
Because I was embarrassed.
“Uh… It may be a little late, but thank you again for attending our wedding.”
As we talked, it felt like it was Yuder’s own wedding, but it wasn’t.
It’s just Gail and Adelia’s wedding.
Now that I think about it, it’s probably early, but it’s almost noon. Why is the mansion so quiet?
It would be normal for Gail and Adelia to be busy serving guests.
As Yuder expressed his doubts, Maia, who was standing behind him, whispered in his ear.
“They… both of them haven’t come out of the bedroom yet.”
“Huh? Oh, oh, oh. I see.”
What are you doing that keeps you out of the bedroom?
I had a rough idea, but Yuder deliberately blocked his consciousness. It would be impossible to imagine something like that for his brother and sister-in-law, right?
However, Lucas and Kaisa each imagined something different from Yuder, perhaps because their positions were different, and Lucas blushed and didn’t know what to do. Kaisa just laughed.
But here’s one person.
Red Wind, who was still holding Cordelia’s waist, nodded and threw the bomb.
“I also didn’t leave my bedroom for three days after my wedding.”
“uh?”
As Cordelia blinked, Red Wind blushed and laughed, while Sunsong coughed in vain over there.
‘What, what. Are you two already like that?!’
‘Well… There was talk of political marriage ever since we left for the wild lands.’
The marriage between the two was quite possible.
‘But, but······.’
Red Wind and Sun Song? The height difference is almost 50cm? Not to mention the size difference?
There-
‘Th, three days······.’
Cordelia’s delusional powers, which had been distorted in various ways by Scarlett and Caesar, spread their wings and took flight, and thanks to this, Cordelia’s entire body, not just her cheeks, began to ripen.
And Lucas and Uther are also writhing in embarrassment.
Kaisa looks up at the Sun Song and says, “Hohohoho” alone.
Maia hesitates behind her back, wondering whether she should say something or not.
Amidst the awkward silence, it was Yuder who finally spoke again.
“Oh, Maya. Excuse me, but can you leave us alone for a moment? I have something urgent to discuss.”
“Okay, I understand. But······.”
“but?”
Instead of speaking, Maia nodded with a somewhat stern look, and Yuder, full of resentment, protested with his eyes that it was not us who had said such strange things in the first place, but the Red Wind.
Anyway, that was about a minute.
As Maia left, Yuder clapped his hands together, drawing everyone’s attention.
“The reason I invited you here separately is not just to express my gratitude.”
Lucas nodded at Uther’s words.
Because this place now was not the northernmost point, but the border city of Baylun, located deep in the north.
It would have been no problem for Lucas himself or Kai’sa to attend the wedding celebration, but the Red Wind and Sun Song, barbarians of the Wild Lands, were a different matter.
Unlike the County of Hresvelg, where some level of interaction with the wild lands had begun, the barbarians here were still considered to be nothing more than an alien race to be guarded against or used as slaves.
But I had to bring the Red Wind and the Sun Song all the way here.
If that’s the case, then there must be a reason.
Any reason other than simply celebrating the wedding.
“First of all… I have something to tell you. As you probably already know or have guessed, Cordelia and I have a close relationship with the Order of the Holy Cross.”
This time Lucas and Kaisa nodded together.
Uder was the disciple of Kamael, the commander of the Holy Cross Guardians, and Cordelia was rumored to be the disciple or successor of the Holy Archangel Lena.
If it weren’t for a close relationship, it would be stranger.
“So… I know a little more information that others don’t. And according to that information, the continent is currently under threat from a great, unseen danger.”
It was a story bordering on a conspiracy theory, but it was said by none other than Uther.
“The story I’m about to tell you is not a lie. It’s all things that actually happened and things that will happen in the future.”
Uder listed the incidents one by one.
The attempted kidnapping of the children of the twelve northern houses, the conflict at Frost Anvil, the plot hatched by the Demon’s Eye in the wild lands, the mastermind and hidden circumstances behind the King’s Rebellion, and the secret activities of the demon followers in collusion with Malekith.
Finally, the operation to wipe out the demon followers in the Kingdom of Seilun was carried out.
“The demon followers who have been silent until now are on the rampage. Their goal is a great chaos that will engulf the entire continent.”
But so far, it has not been successful.
The Kingdom of Seilun has overcome all three crises.
“They are gathering in the Empire. Now that everything they planned in the Kingdom of Cailun has failed, they will cause more drastic events in the Empire.”
To somehow throw the continent into chaos.
Of course, at this point, one might wonder why they were trying to cause chaos, but since the main culprits were followers of the devil, no one had such questions.
They were people who were harmful from the very beginning.
“Cordelia and I plan to cross over to the Empire soon to continue the fight against the demon followers.”
At Uther’s words, Lucas and Kaiser opened their eyes wide in surprise at the same time.
Even though he was active in the kingdom, it was a natural reaction to him crossing over to the empire.
But the real surprise was yet to come.
“And I hope that all of you here will join me on my journey to the Empire.”
Playable characters from the Kingdom of Seilun.
Of course, he was weak compared to Uther and Cordelia. He was much stronger than his peers, but considering that many of the enemies he would have to fight in the empire in the future were high-level mines, he could have been a burden rather than a help.
But Uder didn’t care about that.
Because it was different from the Kingdom of Seilun, where I was able to obtain support in various ways.
In order to operate in the empire, the presence of trustworthy colleagues was absolutely necessary.
And Uder had the means to strengthen the four people present here now.
“I understand. As a noble of the kingdom and as a rival to Prince Yude, I will join you.”
As expected, the first one to answer was Lucas.
There was no way he, who loved heroic tales, would get caught up in something like this.
Although I blushed in embarrassment at the ‘rival’ part, I still felt very secure.
“Okay, I’ll go too. I’ve always wanted to go to the Empire. I want to see Scarlett too.”
As Caesar spoke with a smile, Red Wind and Sun Song also nodded.
“If my sister goes, I go too.”
“Always with the red wind.”
The answers were as expected.
So Cordelia smiled brightly and thanked everyone, and Uther took out the story he had prepared.
“Okay. Now, please listen carefully to what I’m going to say. It’s a very important story.”
A means to instantly strengthen the power of those currently present.
It wasn’t a story about a dragon’s equipment made on Mount Damos.
Of course, I intended to let you enjoy Templar as well, but I had prepared a separate method for more fundamental strengthening.
A trick that can only be used once.
A secret technique that has only recently become available.
“We will capture the Demon Prince.”
So I’m going to level up.
“yes?”
“uh?”
“huh?”
Everyone was confused. It couldn’t be helped.
Demon Prince.
A titled great demon of hell.
The disaster itself that led to the destruction of the Paragon Kingdom.
Even Lucas, who loved heroic tales, was more bewildered than excited by Uther’s words.
Kai’sa blinked, not sure if she had heard correctly or if the Daemon Prince was mentioned whenever Malekith’s strength was described, and the Red Wind and Sunsong brought to mind the Daemon Prince who had almost descended upon the Wild Lands.
You’re catching it?
we?
No, where is that in the first place?
Everyone’s questions were valid, so Yuder smiled brightly.
Cordelia said with that dark smile that she loved so much.
“There is one.”
And that Demon Prince, a sandbag-like creature that is still well-packaged and stored away.
“Yeah, yeah, there’s one. We promised to meet again, didn’t we?”
Right, Yuder?
At Cordelia’s dark smile, Uther smiled evilly once again and said.
“Red Moon’s Raize River.”
A powerful and cruel blood lord.
“We will catch him.”
Now the damage will be well-packed.
That too, very sharply.
“Hoo hoo hoo.”
“Hehehe.”
“Hehehehe.”
Uther and Cordelia looked at each other again and exchanged wicked, happy smiles.
