Chapter 77 – The Fairy Sword
Arriving at Black Town, the Black Horn Guild’s residence located beneath Mount Damos, Uder and Cordelia began searching the building on the far left.
“Oh… Cordelia, look at this pot. The handle feels great to the touch, and the capacity is just right. Wow, this frying pan is awesome too.”
Inside the room that appeared to be a kitchen, there were several household items left, each and every one of them a true luxury item.
What was even more surprising was that they were all in perfect condition, ready to be used after just a little cleaning.
“Wow… This is really amazing. Even at the most conservative estimate, these ruins are at least 500 years old, yet they’re still in perfect condition. What’s the material? Wouldn’t pancakes taste even better if you cooked them here?”
Yuder, who had been chattering excitedly, flinched at one moment and turned his head away.
And as expected, I was able to face Cordelia, who was looking at me with cold eyes.
“Why, why?”
“No, if Yuder is happy, then that’s enough. I’ll watch over you with warm eyes.”
And Cordelia, who closed her eyes once and opened them again, began to look at Uther with really warm eyes.
“excuse me.”
“uh.”
“Would you rather curse at me?”
“Really?”
“Oh, no. I’ll just receive warm looks.”
Uder coughed in vain, then took the frying pan and pot he was holding and started looking elsewhere.
“But Cordelia.”
“Oh, it’s Yuder.”
“How about number 5 black? Isn’t it heavy?”
“Yeah, it’s a lot lighter than I thought.”
Cordelia, swinging the Ultimate Five-Grand Order on her right arm, asked Uther as if she had just remembered something.
“The rest of the Ultimate Series’ material is a bit unclear, isn’t it?”
“Oh, but I have the Key Sword, so I’ll probably be able to find it somehow. Um… Now that we’re on the subject, should I give it a try?”
Uder pulled out the key sword he had on his waist, injected magical power into it to release the seal, and then brought the key sword to the nearest Ultimate Series – that is, his own body.
“Oh, there’s a response.”
Cordelia, who had become blushing as the jewel attached to the handle of the key sword began to shine, quickly closed the distance between her and Uther.
“The jewel colors each symbolize a different Ultimate Series?”
“Oh, it’s rainbow colored, but it doesn’t really have any special meaning. I think it’s just for identification.”
As Yuder lifted the Keyblade to the side, the light emitted from the jewel formed seven jewels.
“Are swords 1 and 5 attached?”
“Oh, red and blue.”
Ultimate One – Sword Origin, the new sword combination and Ultimate Five – Grand Order, the shield sword.
Cordelia counted the colors of the rainbow on her fingers and looked at the rest of the jewels.
“Because they’re yellow and green… So the 3rd and 4th swords are to the south of us?”
Ultimate Three – Dragon Sword Ascalon and Ultimate Four – Storm Sword Magic Blaster.
Unlike the two that had relatively distinct colors, the remaining jewels – those representing the 2nd, 6th, and 7th swords – were very dim and dull.
“It’s in the north, but… is it so far away that we can’t know its exact location?”
“Well, in the original, they were usually found on the Empire side. Was the Ultimate Six used by the Swordsman?”
“Oh, I see, it’s the family tree of the swordsman.”
The Empire’s First Sword.
The strongest swordsman on the continent, known as the God of Swords.
‘It’s unclear who is stronger between Kamael and the two of them.’
If the strongest in the sun was the swordsman, then Kamael was the strongest in the shade.
“I think Kamael will be more popular.”
When Cordelia read the look in Uther’s eyes and spoke, Uther looked at Cordelia with eyes full of anticipation.
Because Cordelia’s opinion, with her animalistic intuition, was worth listening to.
“Why?”
“Because Kamael is on our side.”
Landius is Uder’s teacher, and Kamael is Landius’s best friend.
Moreover, Cordelia herself is from the Kingdom of Cailun, but the swordsman is from the Empire.
Uther nodded with an embarrassed face for a very Cordelia-like reason.
“Yeah, yeah.”
If that’s you, then so be it.
“Huh, is there another reason?”
“What is it?”
“Anyway, the one who will be joining the Four Great Inspectors’ Association later on is Kamael.”
“No, that’s because the swordsman died while trying to stop the seven great disasters.”
“Anyway, the last one left is Kamael, right? It’s not the strong who survive, it’s the survivors who are strong.”
As Cordelia crossed her arms and snorted, Uther narrowed his eyes and said,
“Excuse me, Miss Cordelia. You know you’re talking nonsense right now, right?”
Cordelia quickly blushed at Uther’s remark.
Unlike Yuder, who was the epitome of shamelessness, she was very shy.
‘That’s a good thing, though.’
Uther, who was smiling slightly, changed the subject again for Cordelia, who was starting to feel really embarrassed.
“Anyway, let’s focus on securing Ascalon and Magic Blaster.”
“Yeah, because fighting Malekith comes first.”
In fact, there was no particular reason to collect the Ultimate Series other than the Dragonslayer Sword Ascalon, which was the opposite of Dragon, but for Uder and Cordelia, whose game brains had already started working, ‘collecting them all’ was almost a done deal.
‘If you have it, you should collect it.’
What more reason do you need?
“They’re both in the south?”
“Oh, the Yongsal Sword is already stored, so it should be relatively easy to find.”
Yuder thought of the high elves living in the Eternal Forest and stroked his chin as he gazed at the green gem symbolizing the Magic Blaster.
“Considering the distance between the jewels… I think the Magic Blaster is in the territory of the Seven Southern Clans?”
“It’s a bit of a double-edged sword.”
On the way, I ate the Yongsal Sword and the Bokryeong Sword.
“Hmm… While we’re at it, should we talk about our future plans?”
“Huh? Weren’t you going around meeting each of the alliance candidates?”
“That’s what I was thinking, but my plans changed.”
As he spoke, Uther looked at the golden necklace of Gamor Khan hanging from Cordelia’s waist.
“Because I have evidence.”
“Huh? Huh… Ah! Is that really so?”
Cordelia clapped her hands together loudly, then laughed heartily and shook her fists.
evidence.
In the fight in the royal capital, Yuder and Cordelia were unable to ask for Landius’s assistance.
It was because Landius had urgent business in the south, but more than that, it was because there was no way to persuade Landius.
‘Because there is no evidence.’
The Guardian King is trying to wipe out the royal family.
It was a story that even a passing dog would not believe in the Kingdom of Seilun.
Because of this, even though Uther and Cordelia were facing the enemy known as the Guardians, they were unable to seek outside help until things really got going.
‘Malekith would have been like that originally.’
Long ago, the black dragon Malekith was sealed in the southern seas and has awakened again to lay waste to the south.
It was a baseless story.
This alone was not enough to stop Landius from wandering the world in search of Archbishop Manuela, who had destroyed the Paragon Kingdom.
But now we have evidence.
Gamor Khan’s testimony proved Malekith’s existence and plot.
“Then let’s join Master right away. If it’s as we said before, Kamael and Lena should be with Master as well.”
“Wow, Lena! So this time you’re going to fight together with the main characters from Part 1?”
“maybe?”
To be honest, before, the power gap was so great that the very concept of fighting together was impossible, but now it was more or less possible to fight together.
“Wow. Isn’t this totally Avengers?”
Cordelia stamped her feet, gently pressing down on her pounding heart.
He seemed very excited.
“Malekith is an enemy of that level. Anyway, that’s why I plan to go straight to the headquarters of the Holy Cross Defenders.”
“Are you trying to contact Kamael?”
“Oh, as I said before, there’s a high chance that the Master is with Kamael.”
Landius didn’t say anything specific about what he was doing in the south, but given the circumstances, if Kamael and Lena were together, the only thing he could think of was fighting Archbishop Manuela.
“Okay, fine. I’ll stop by the Holy Cross Guardians and find out where Kamael is, then join up with Lena and Landius. Yeah, fine. I like it.”
“Of course, that alone is not enough, and once we arrive in the south, we must also prepare to embrace the Seven Southern Clans.”
The fight with Malekith was different from your average boss mob raid.
An army was absolutely necessary to fight him.
“What are you going to do?”
“Everyone has their own thoughts.”
It was all on purpose that I called Scarlett down south.
“So what’s the idea?”
“Hmm, okay. Come here for a minute.”
“You’re whispering again.”
Cordelia grumbled as if she didn’t like it, but she quietly approached Uther and pricked up her ears.
“therefore······.”
Uther whispered softly, and Cordelia laughed as she always did.
“Hehehe, I like it.”
In the meantime, I think I might be able to become close with Kaisarang too.
Satisfied that Cordelia was satisfied, Uther nodded slightly and continued speaking.
“Then, Count, would you like to continue your exploration?”
“Yes, Count.”
Cordelia, who answered nicely, took the lead and began to explore.
&
The night was deep.
After searching the Black Horn Guild’s residence until late, Uther and Cordelia were able to collect several useful items, but Cordelia’s favorite item was a long-range radio transmitter and receiver.
“It’s like a smartphone.”
The palm-sized terminal had a large screen and a few buttons, and was the work of a joint effort between the high elves who had survived the fall of Endymion and the ancient dwarves who had left the Sword Seekers.
“Yuder, Yuuder. Send me a KakaoTalk message quickly.”
As Cordelia crouched by the campfire and urged him on, Uther looked at the transceiver in thought.
It was possible to input text using a touch screen, as if it were a smartphone. At the time of the destruction of the Black Horn Guild, there were already several human nations, so in addition to the ancient dwarven and high elven scripts, human script was also available.
“Quickly.”
When Cordelia urged him again, Uther frowned and thought about it.
KakaoTalk to a girl.
Of course, I had sent KakaoTalk messages to work-related matters or colleagues many times, but I was very worried about sending it to Cordelia.
‘No, but we’re face to face right now.’
But what text do you want me to send?
After much thought, what Yuder finally sent was a very simple sentence.
Uder: [Hello?]
What is this shaking thing?
Uther raised his head slightly and looked at Cordelia, who exclaimed in admiration and quickly replied.
Cordelia: [Yeah, hello lol]
It was completely different from the real KakaoTalk screen, with white, stiff letters on a black screen that looked like it was for military use, but just by saying “ㅋㅋ”, I felt like the atmosphere was getting warmer.
In fact, when I raised my head, I saw Cordelia stomping her feet in joy.
‘What should I say here?’
When I asked him how he was, he replied, “Hello.”
So what on earth should we talk about now?
Yuder, who had been feeling pressured to lead the conversation for some reason, ended up sending a short sentence this time as well.
Uther: [Johnny?]
Cordelia: [No, I’m not sleeping lol]
Cordelia: [screaming rabbit emoticon]
“uh?”
Rabbit emoticon?
There are no emoticons or anything like that here.
Actually, what Cordelia wrote was the phrase ‘ridiculous rabbit emoticon’, not a real emoticon.
“Cordelia?”
When Uther asked with a blink of an eye, Cordelia answered with her eyes.
‘Just imagine! Imagine!’
“Yeah.”
If Cordelia wants it, I have no choice but to give it to her.
Uther: [Salute lion emoji]
Cordelia: [ㅋㅋㅋ You did well, Yuder.]
Cordelia pressed the screen again to send text messages, more than half of the conversation was filled with ㅋㅋㅋ.
Cordelia: [It’s nice to be on KakaoTalk after so long. Do you miss the chat room?]
Uder: [Okay.]
Cordelia: [I hope everyone is doing well?]
Uther: [I hope you’re doing well.]
Cordelia: [Yeah lol]
Cordelia: [smiling rabbit emoji]
That was it.
Cordelia lay down next to the campfire, glanced at Yuder, then quickly tapped the screen again to send a sentence.
Cordelia: [Good night, Uther.]
Uder: [You too, sleep well.]
Cordelia: [Bunny emoji kissing cheek.]
“Can’t you just do it for real?”
“Oh, no.”
Cordelia giggled as if it was absurd and rolled over. Her ears, visible through her hair, were extremely red, perhaps because of the campfire.
“good night.”
“good night.”
Yuder, lying down, closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
&
Uder raised his head.
I opened my eyes and found myself in a familiar yet unfamiliar space.
All I could see was a forest.
Large, straight trees stood on either side, and in front, lush green grass grew, bathed in sunlight streaming through the leaves.
The reason for the unfamiliarity was obvious.
It was a place I had never seen before.
But even so, it felt familiar because Yuder had already experienced this space several times.
‘The nine heavens and the nine earths.’
An all-white or black space where one could encounter a fairy.
Then, is this place also like Yuder’s own imaginary world?
Uder took a step forward.
She was wearing only a white tunic over her bare feet.
The feel of the grass against my bare skin was incredibly soft.
And Uther could see.
A woman standing in the middle of a lawn, basking in the sun.
Long, pale golden hair that reached her buttocks and very long ears.
Mysterious green eyes nestled between a white face.
To Uther, she was a woman as beautiful as Cordelia.
She had a similar vibe to a fairy, but she felt much more human.
She saw Yuder.
I think I was in my mid to late twenties.
She wore the green combat uniform favored by elf inspectors, and instead of introducing herself, she smiled whitely, and Uther stood before her.
I called her name, which came to mind naturally.
“Velencia.”
Fairy sword.
The strongest swordsman of his time, whom Black Horn’s Guild Master Eitri sought out to ask about the ultimate sword.
And Uther learned one more thing.
Ultimate One – The first owner of Sword Origin.
“Nice to meet you, my successor.”
She spoke with a big smile and held out her hand to Yuder.
