Chapter 60 – The First Sword
“First of all, it wasn’t that hard to sneak into Spencer’s house. It’s a very large place with lots of people. Of course, the deciding factor is that I’m the Log Master. But it’s really soft. It feels really good.”
As Scarlett began to caress Cordelia’s cheeks with both hands as if she was trying to get her way, Uther instinctively reached out his hand.
He grabs Scarlett’s wrist and shakes her off.
The moment Uther moved, Scarlett tried to avoid Uther’s hand as if she had already anticipated it, but she couldn’t do it as she had thought. Not only was Uther’s hand movement fast, but Scarlett moved her hand so skillfully that she knew where he would move it in advance, so she had no way to dodge.
“Let go of the other side too.”
As Uther spoke as if warning, Cordelia looked at Uther happily while holding his right cheek, and Scarlett narrowed her brows as if she had no choice but to say.
“Okay, let’s take one side each. I’ll take this side, you take that side.”
“Well, that might be okay.”
Uther nodded immediately at Scarlett’s suggestion and grabbed Cordelia’s left cheek, and Cordelia blinked as both cheeks were suddenly grabbed again.
Just a few seconds like that.
Immediately after Uther and Scarlett pulled Cordelia’s cheeks, a panicked Cordelia just took it quietly for a few seconds.
“What are you doing here!”
As Cordelia abruptly stood up and swung both her arms wildly, Uther and Scarlett simultaneously let go of each other’s hands and stepped back, as if they had made a promise.
“It feels really good. I want to touch it every day.”
“Aren’t you jealous? It’s my fat cheeks.”
“Tch, I’m really jealous. Should we make Pink Bomb’s cheek flesh our next target?”
Scarlett spoke again after Uther spoke in a boastful tone, and Cordelia let out her anger again.
“hey!”
What is going on?
And my cheek fat is mine, why is it yours!
The last one was the gaze, and Uder returned the gaze without being flustered.
‘You’re engaged, fiancé. And you love each other so much. Since you’re in front of Scarlett, you have to get along.’
Cordelia flinched for a moment at the sight of Uther’s gaze, but it was literally only for a moment.
‘Hey, do you think I’m stupid? What does that have to do with this? And right now, there’s no need to emphasize that we’re in a lovey-dovey relationship?’
The opponent was Scarlett from the beginning!
‘Tch, that doesn’t work.’
‘Is this real?’
‘Anyway, don’t get too worked up. It’s all because Cordelia’s cheeks are so chubby.’
‘Mr. Black Cloak, you’re not saying it’s a good thing if you say it as a compliment, are you?’
‘No, but it’s true.’
‘Euuum.’
At Uther’s gaze, Cordelia pouts slightly and touches her cheek.
It definitely felt good.
‘right?’
‘Tch, I admit it.’
As we exchanged jokes that weren’t jokes with each other, Scarlett’s expression, which had seemed funny at first, gradually became rotten.
“What are these guys doing with people in front of them? Why don’t you exchange glances like that in the bedroom?”
Cordelia was flustered by the look in his eyes and expression that said she was going to die from staring at him – or rather, by the content he was pointing out.
“Tch, why are you exchanging glances in the bedroom!”
“Then where else do you exchange such loving glances besides in the bedroom?”
“That’s not it, is it?”
Didn’t we just have an argument with our eyes?
But Cordelia’s protests were meaningless. First of all, the very act of arguing with eyes was ridiculous to others, and anyone could tell that the exchange of glances just now was an exchange between lovers.
“No!”
Cordelia, who was pounding her chest as if she was frustrated, looked at Uther.
Do something about it. Make him understand.
Uther nodded at the earnest gaze and immediately looked back at Scarlett and spoke.
“In the first place, wasn’t it your fault for intruding on the cozy time your fiancés were having?”
“Tch, that’s true. Sorry, Pink Bomb. For interrupting.”
When Scarlett apologized meekly, Cordelia’s face became embarrassed again.
It’s good that you received an apology, but the process was problematic.
‘No, hey! I told you to explain. Explain.’
Why are you making the misunderstanding deeper!
‘There’s nothing we can do. And let’s get on with the story.’
‘Okay, got it.’
Cordelia grumbled, but seemed convinced and stopped clinging.
So Uder smiled and said to Scarlett.
“You wouldn’t have come to Spencer’s house to steal, would you? Or is it because of us?”
“No, what… something like that?”
When Scarlett smiled awkwardly, unlike before, Cordelia narrowed her eyes in suspicion, and Uther smiled rather evilly.
“I get the general idea.”
Why did Scarlett appear here?
At Uther’s remark, Cordelia looked at him as if she wanted him to tell her quickly, and Scarlett flinched without realizing it.
“Couldn’t you wait? The day you’ll meet Cordelia again.”
“That’s not it, is it?”
“What, was it something like that?”
In that order, Uther, Scarlett, and Cordelia.
Cordelia, in particular, looked very excited and said with a mhhhh laugh.
“Our Scarlett missed you, didn’t she? She was upset because you didn’t call her sooner?”
“Hey! That’s not it. It’s just that you promised to contact me but haven’t contacted me at all. And who’s your older sister? I’m two years older than you.”
Cordelia was seventeen and Scarlett was nineteen.
When Scarlett blushed and looked embarrassed, like a femme fatale, with a sexy and proud face, Cordelia laughed again.
“Oh, you’re so cute. Then should I call you Unnie? Yes? Unnie Scarlett?”
Scarlett flared up again when Cordelia teased her, but this time she didn’t show any anger.
The moment Cordelia called me sister, something deep inside me felt fulfilled.
“Um… well, if that’s what you want to call me.”
You can keep calling me unnie. No, just call me unnie.
Cordelia laughed again at the expression so openly revealed.
“Wow, your thoughts are all written on your face. Why is our Scarlett so cute?”
‘That goes for you too?’
Your thoughts are all revealed on your face.
But now it was time to attack Scarlett.
Instead of hitting Cordelia, Uther opened his mouth again, looking at Cordelia, who was thrilled at being hit, and Scarlett, who was busy getting hit.
“Anyway, it seems like you really couldn’t help it.”
The reason Scarlett appeared here.
Cordelia put her hand on his waist and made an affectionate expression as if telling him to come up with another excuse, and Scarlett said with annoyance.
“Oh, you! Honestly, it’s your fault! No, you said you’d contact me, but why haven’t you contacted me! Do you know how long I’ve been waiting on the Blue Moon Roof?”
Cordelia shrugged her shoulders in response to the question mixed with resentment.
“No, I said I’d give it to you soon, not right away. And why are you waiting on the Blue Moon Roof?”
“That’s because you’re the Log Master.”
When Uther answered on her behalf, Cordelia opened her eyes wide as if she had gained insight.
“Oh, is that so?”
“That’s probably it.”
“Being a log master is hard too.”
“It’s not an easy task. If we have to be specific, wouldn’t it be closer to the 3D industry?”
“These are real.”
They said they were a fantasy couple, but they were a fantastic couple.
Cordelia said, feeling slightly sorry as Scarlett, who had been getting verbally beaten, glared at her with sharp eyes.
“But it’s only been two days… Is it the third day already? Anyway, it’s only been three days. Aren’t you being too impatient?”
“Three days is enough. When on earth were you planning to contact me?”
“Uh… well?”
Because Yuder manages the schedule.
As Cordelia reflexively turned to look at Uther, Scarlett also looked back at Uther, and Uther answered the two beautiful red-haired beauties.
“About ten days later?”
“It’s too late!”
“No, it’s an important match for the position of Log Master. Wouldn’t it be more problematic to finish it in a day or two?
“That’s how it is.”
As Cordelia nodded in agreement with Uther’s words, Scarlett hesitated again, and then realized.
‘No, no matter what I say, I get pushed back.’
First of all, Scarlett herself rushed in, but she was also outnumbered.
No matter what you say, the two of you will become best friends, so how can you win?
“and.”
It was the moment when Yuder opened his mouth again.
Clang!
With a sharp sound, the sword Cordelia swung strangled Scarlett’s body.
It was an object that was retrieved using telekinesis while Yuder was telling a joke.
“Did you really think we were just making jokes?”
Cordelia spoke provocatively, and Scarlett couldn’t move. She was wearing the Red Dragon’s armor under her maid’s uniform, so she could withstand the explosion of the detonator ship itself, but there was nothing she could do about the fact that she was restrained.
‘More than anything.’
Yuder’s palm was already touching his abdomen.
Scarlett had already experienced Uther’s work. Her body shrank involuntarily at the memory of spilling a bucket of blood.
“Scarlett, let me ask you this one thing. How did you find out? Did you stalk me or something?”
The fact that Cordelia is a pink bomb.
Cordelia turned to look at Uther, startled by the cold voice, and Scarlett swallowed dryly.
Because it was a look and voice that made it impossible to even imagine that it was Yuder who had been joking around just a moment ago.
Scarlett knew that look.
Worn-out people.
My father, who taught me everything I needed to become a log master.
My father’s colleagues.
The guild master of the system encountered in the empire.
Either way, it wasn’t the look you would expect from a seventeen-year-old.
That’s why Scarlett was embarrassed and didn’t make a fuss.
“Okay, I got it. I’ll talk. So let’s stop the bloody stuff. Okay?”
“Depending on the answer.”
Although it had become softer than before, Yuder’s gaze was still fierce.
Because it had to do with Cordelia’s appearance, of all things.
“Okay, it’s just as you expected. I was following you.”
“how?”
“Bargo’s tracking powder.”
“Buried in the body?”
Because the clothes were placed inside the expansion pocket, they were sealed off from the outside.
To Uther’s question, Scarlett nodded obediently once again.
“Oh, when Pink Bomb used recovery magic on me.”
“Wow, you put tracking powder on me then?”
While I was practically on the verge of death and had no will to live, they were telling me to kill him?
“Log Master, really? Was it all an act?”
Scarlett bristled when Uther asked provocatively.
“No? Did you really want to die back then? It was just some kind of… occupational disease.”
“It’s not a very nice job to put tracking powder on the body of someone you’re treating while they’re dying.”
“Hey, I was dying because of you in the first place. And you want to be one too, Rogue Master.”
As Scarlett pouted her lips, Cordelia opened her mouth again.
“Anyway, you found out by chasing that powder?”
“Oh, I was a bit shocked too. The twelve northern families… descendants of such prestigious families would go by the names Pink Bomb and Black Cloak.”
Scarlett shook her head as if she was truly disappointed, and Cordelia, who was instantly embarrassed, pointed to Uther and said.
“I didn’t build it. He built it.”
“The black cloak was made by Cordelia.”
Cordelia flinched again at Uther’s counterattack, and Scarlett thought.
‘This is truly a match made in heaven.’
Even the childish naming sense is the same.
“Anyway, that’s how I found out, and it’s true that I approached you first because you guys didn’t contact me.”
Scarlett just sat down on the sofa and slumped her shoulders. Cordelia looked back at Uther as if she was telling her to eat her if she wanted to.
‘What should I do?’
‘Well… I was thinking of becoming allies rather than enemies from the beginning.’
Moreover, this incident gave Uder confidence.
Scarlett was still immature.
She was a girl who still had an innocent side to her before she became the skilled femme fatale that appeared in the original work.
Is that why?
Scarlett didn’t seem to have any intention of becoming enemies with Pink Bomb- Cordelia.
‘I’d rather be friends.’
If not, he wouldn’t have shown up like this.
‘As expected of Cordelia.’
A devilish woman who secretly captivates everyone she meets.
‘Huh? What? What am I?’
Cordelia tilted her head, unable to exchange eye contact with Uther as he closed his eyes for a moment to think, but instead of answering, Uther looked back at Scarlett and spoke.
“Okay, there’s nothing we can do about it. In cases like this, murder and destruction are the norm.”
“Wait, what?”
‘You, youder?!’
Murderous abomination?
You’re going to kill him and shut his mouth?
Scarlett was visibly embarrassed, and Cordelia’s eyes widened in embarrassment as well.
“Of course I won’t really kill you. I haven’t even repaid my debt to you yet, let alone a match to determine the Rogue Master.”
Cordelia and Scarlett both breathed a sigh of relief at Uther’s words.
But it was still too early to feel relieved.
“So I’m going to feed you this.”
Uther took a small glass bottle out of the bag on the table and stuffed its contents into Scarlett’s mouth without warning.
“town?”
“Swallow it. It’ll melt in your mouth even if you don’t swallow it.”
When he covered her mouth and tilted her neck back, Scarlett’s body shuddered for a moment. As Uther had said, it melted in her mouth.
“Oh, is that poison? Did Jihyo-seong use poison?”
If you don’t take the antidote within a few days, you’ll die.
As Scarlett asked with poisonous eyes, Cordelia also looked back at Uther with an anxious face, and Uther nodded and said.
“This is Cordelia’s favorite candy. It’s from the wild lands, so you can’t get it here even if you want to. There are only five left, so if you want to steal more, come back in five days.”
“······what?”
“Cordelia’s favorite candy, don’t you want to steal it?”
When Uther asked, Scarlett nodded without realizing it, and Cordelia frowned.
It’s a good thing they didn’t force Scarlett to drink poison, but what the heck is this?
Scarlett, who had recovered from her embarrassment, also looked at Uther with similar yet different feelings, and Uther spoke while looking into Scarlett’s eyes.
“You want to be friends with Cordelia?
Just like the Log Master and the Sif Master became friends.
That’s why I came here defenseless.
Feeding candy was a kind of confirmation process.
The betrayal on Scarlett’s face.
An emotion that could never be expressed if one had not had faith in the first place.
“I’m sorry for scaring you, but you were the one who interrupted our cozy time in the first place. Think of it as a punishment and accept it.”
Uder, who spoke as if he was soothing a child, personally released the fuse, and Scarlett pursed her lips with a face mixed with embarrassment, shame, and other things. It was not only because she was embarrassed by the current situation, but also because she was embarrassed that her true feelings had been revealed.
“Okay, now that I’ve let you all out, let’s leave. I want to enjoy some cozy time with Cordelia again.”
Scarlett shuddered as Uther spoke smugly, and Cordelia quickly hugged Scarlett’s arm.
Because when I thought about going back to the same atmosphere as before, I felt like running away.
“Scarlett, since you’re here, why don’t you hang out with me for a bit before you go? Okay?”
“what?”
Go out and play?
“Yeah, yeah, what… like girls’ talk?”
After saying everything as it was, Cordelia stood up Scarlett and spoke to Uther as if she was the first to do so.
“Then I’ll go talk to Scarlett and then go to bed. Good night, Uther. Let’s go, Scarlett.”
Without even listening to Uther’s answer, Cordelia quickly grabbed Scarlett’s arm and headed straight to the bedroom.
Just a few seconds like that.
Cordelia sighed in relief as she closed the bedroom door tightly.
“What is this?”
Scarlett looked at Cordelia as if she was seeing something strange.
It’s because I don’t understand the current situation, whether it’s Girls Talk or Nabal.
“What, what?”
“No, it’s clear that they’re as close as the rumors say, but I’m curious as to why they give off such a fresh vibe, like they’re just starting to date.”
Indeed, the original Rogue Master.
Cordelia flinched for a moment at the sharp question that hit the nail on the head, and quickly pretended not to notice and walked towards the bed, but only for a moment. She soon turned around and asked Scarlett.
“But Scarlett.”
“Sister Scarlett.”
“Then, Sister Scarlett. Is that… really true?”
“what?”
“Me and Yuder… do we look like we’re dating?”
Just like real lovers?
Cordelia blushing brightly and asking shyly was really cute and lovely, but at this moment, Scarlett could only say one thing.
“I want to stab you to death.”
I want to stab him with a bamboo spear.
What is the lover of the century that the entire kingdom of Seilun knows?
Is this a new way of pickling?
Scarlett couldn’t stand it any longer.
He grabbed Cordelia’s cheeks, who were still writhing in embarrassment, and pulled her down without mercy.
&
The next morning.
After exchanging a slightly more awkward greeting than usual, Uther and Cordelia walked side by side toward the main building of the Red Rose Castle.
There are three purposes.
One was to meet the Duke of Spencer, and the other was to become closer to the First Swordsman whom I had met yesterday.
And the third purpose, and externally the most important purpose, is this.
“The sword banquet will now begin.”
Promising talents gathered from all over the Kingdom of Seilun.
With Lord Cornwell’s declaration, the real sword feast began.
